Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1371: Chapter 24 The Secret of Evolutionary Creature’s Fortune! [Seeking official subscription]

Time flows on, and in the blink of an eye, another year has passed.

For most cosmic strong ones, a year is an exceedingly short span, during which they might not even manage to organize their strength properly.

But for Jia Yan, who resided in the central star district of the Genius Battle Domain, this year was the fastest-progressing year in his journey!

”The progress I’ve made this year far surpasses what I achieved during those sustained challenges in the 132 Star Zone.”

Within the Tianhe Force, Jia Yan slowly moved his body.

He was still situated on his cultivation star.

Outside the door, the mermaid-like monster Xiaoya, who cared for him, was waiting, while Jia Yan had been undergoing long and arduous cultivation behind closed doors.

Over the span of a year, Jia Yan’s progress was no longer something so simplistic.

After comprehending the essence of the evolutionary creature’s strength, his mindset, along with his understanding of himself, had undergone significant changes.

”To channel this power throughout my entire body—if this strength were to fully erupt...”

Throughout the year, in order to avoid ascending directly to the peak of the Venerable Level, Jia Yan continued condensing power into every cell of his body. Although this power wasn’t directly related to brainwave energy, it nevertheless contributed real, tangible enhancements to his physical form. If unleashed, Jia Yan was almost certain his strength wouldn’t just double—it would be far beyond that.

”Of course, this is an entirely new method of utilizing power. Completely mastering it won’t be an easy feat.”

Jia Yan deeply felt the astonishing nature of evolutionary creatures. He even thought back to the legendary Orion Arm monster, who once ascended to the level of a ”Star Sky Beast,” or Stellar Level. If that being had also unlocked such a constitution, Jia Yan couldn’t even begin to imagine the strength it must have possessed.

”During this year, Senior Longta sent me an electronic document about the history of the Orion Arm under the pretense of offering an apology. It was full of implications. In that document, I read accounts of a great war that occurred over a hundred thousand years ago, along with another battle a few thousand years back. Both were earth-shattering events—external forces faced off against either one or two terrifying creatures, but they never managed to achieve victory.”

”I now strongly suspect that in these battles, the external beings were up against the unique monsters of the Orion Arm—evolutionary creatures! In other words, those beings were my predecessors.”

”It’s just a shame that following the last great battle, there have been no further tales of super creatures from the Orion Arm. Whether those predecessors perished or left the Orion Arm is unknown. Of course, the truth likely leans toward the former. Based on the evolutionary creatures’ history, they always emerged whenever outsiders intruded. Yet, when the Biochemical Empire appeared last time, none of them showed up to fight. This suggests that those evolutionary creature predecessors must have already fallen. Such a pity...”

Jia Yan shook his head. It seemed that through the historically laden document from Longta, he had glimpsed the legacy of evolutionary creatures. He even inferred certain truths about their fate.

And then, Jia Yan’s eyes lit up!

”Of the two great wars in evolutionary creature history, the most extraordinary was the one over a hundred thousand years ago. It is said that several Galaxy Level strong ones joined forces to battle a certain creature. Based on the timeline and my deductions, the challenged creature might just be the predecessor who left Earth via gravitational waves. It might even have been the same one who led the Kuditang and other species away from Earth.”

The more Jia Yan delved into the past, the more awestruck he became.

The evolutionary creature tribe rarely produced strong ones. Whether this was due to physical limitations or their sheer scarcity in number was unclear. Regardless, Jia Yan understood one thing: it was very likely that among the evolutionary creatures currently in existence, he was the only one left. Even if there were others, none surpassed his strength!

”Since the entire evolutionary creature tribe now counts me as its strongest, it falls on me to rise against the Biochemical Empire’s incursion!”

Jia Yan moved his body, a profound sense of duty enveloping him.

Yet, within the Genius Battle Domain, Jia Yan remained cautious. A hundred thousand years ago, during that great battle, it’s said that one of the Galaxy Level seniors who helped establish the Genius Battle Domain sustained severe injuries. In fact, the very space of this domain was created as those superpowers fought, moving from the Orion Arm to this location and grinding it into its current form.

That injured senior, realizing their days were numbered after the battle, chose to establish the Genius Battle Domain here—a legacy that had persisted for a hundred thousand years since.

But who could say whether the current Genius Battle Domain still held grudges against the evolutionary creature tribe? Jia Yan suspected that Longta vaguely harbored suspicions about him.

”The evolutionary creature predecessors were all supreme heroes and unmatched combatants. As their successor, I cannot tarnish their reputation.”

”However, for now, it’s not wise to openly reveal my powers, especially the unique cellular energy of evolutionary creatures. If this energy is displayed and compared with historical accounts, the officials of the Genius Battle Domain will undoubtedly recognize me as a member of the evolutionary creature tribe.”

For now, Longta was unaware that Jia Yan belonged to the evolutionary creature tribe. Even if he suspected, their relationship was such that he likely wouldn’t act against Jia Yan.

Thus, Jia Yan resolved to keep his evolutionary creature identity hidden until he grew stronger.

Having reflected and analyzed everything, Jia Yan clarified his next course of action.

Of course, during this year, aside from gaining cellular energy that exponentially enhanced his physical capabilities, Jia Yan had also achieved great advancements in pure brainwave strength.

”My Lord, have you emerged from seclusion?”

As Jia Yan stepped forward and exited his cultivation room, Xiaoya, who had been waiting for a long time, immediately perked up, asking in delight.

”Yes. This time, I’m not entering seclusion again. And you should stop doing so as well—a little correction is needed. I can see that you’re veering onto the wrong path.”

Jia Yan fixed a pointed gaze on Xiaoya, offering a word of advice.

Xiaoya had been accompanying Jia Yan, so while he secluded himself to study the mysteries of his body and his evolutionary predecessors, she too had been in seclusion. However, her approach was entirely off track. She was overly focused on pushing her strength, but the harder she cultivated, the slower her progress. Jia Yan could discern that if she continued this way, it wouldn’t even take two years for significant dangers to manifest, perhaps even leading to her eventual demise.

”Huh? Uh, alright. I’ll stop cultivating,” she replied, momentarily stunned. Then, after quickly sensing her energy, which was on the verge of bursting, she nodded hastily in agreement.

”Over the past year, I suppose quite a few Venerable challengers have attempted to confront me?”

During the year’s span, Jia Yan had hardly paid any attention to external matters. Although the Tianhe Force was just a small faction within the central star district, it was still a faction. No matter how formidable the challenges posed by Venerable-level geniuses were, unless they were absolute top-tier talents, they couldn’t possibly compel the faction to summon the sequestered Jia Yan.

Thus, he reckoned that over the past year, the Tianhe Force must have turned away a number of challengers intending to face him.

”Yes, but after you defeated so many Venerable geniuses back then, these challenges mostly occurred in the first half-year. By the latter half, no one bothered to show up anymore,” Xiaoya replied.

Jia Yan nodded knowingly, unsurprised by this.

After all, the Venerable Level was merely considered lower-tier within the Genius Battle Domain, and there were countless geniuses at this level. Within just a year, who knew how many challengers of his might have perished or ascended to become secondary powerhouses? Who would even remember an outsider like him, whose fame had been as fleeting as a meteor a year ago?

”Alright, I’ve now hit a bottleneck in my strength and plan to venture out to explore the sights of the central star district. Along the way, I’ll see if I can achieve a breakthrough. If you’d like to accompany me, go make your preparations. We’ll head out together,” Jia Yan said.

”Away from the Tianhe Force?” Xiaoya’s eyes gleamed with excitement upon hearing his proposal.

Though she had already gained considerable insights within the Tianhe Force, which far outshone the experiences available in the 132 Star Zone, the faction itself was limited in scale. It didn’t hold a candle to the sheer fascination of the entire central star district.

Jia Yan and Xiaoya went together to meet Tianrong Guang.

”Jia Yan, are you certain you wish to leave? Right now, you’re only at the Venerable Level. While many Venerable geniuses from afar came to challenge you, they all had powerful factions backing them. Any external forces targeting them would think twice before acting. Our Tianhe Force, however, has little influence outside. If you venture out, the risks will be significant,” Tianrong Guang cautioned.

In truth, Tianrong Guang didn’t want Jia Yan to leave. The Tianhe Force hadn’t yet fully basked in the triumph of Jia Yan’s success—his joining their faction and defeating a slew of Venerable geniuses. If Jia Yan departed now and met his end in the outside world, the currently rising Tianhe Force might find its momentum entirely halted.

Yet Jia Yan occupied a unique position within the Tianhe Force. From the beginning, he’d made it clear that he was free to leave whenever he chose. The fact that he wasn’t trying to completely sever ties with the faction was already seen as fortunate.

”I’m certain, Lord Tianrong Guang. The central star district is powerful and teeming with geniuses. I want to go out and experience it. Perhaps it will help improve my strength. Please grant me permission to leave,” Jia Yan said, his tone slightly imploring.

”Very well, but I’ll arrange for someone you’re familiar with—Lord Tiantesu—to accompany you as a form of protection,” Tianrong Guang replied.

Since Jia Yan made his intentions clear, there wasn’t much else Tianrong Guang could do. He reluctantly agreed.

Soon after, Jia Yan, accompanied by the insistent Tiantesu and Xiaoya, silently departed from the Tianhe Force.

Among the vast expanse of space, several single-person battleships flew steadily.

Although these ships appeared unremarkable from the outside, they were the most advanced defensive models the Tianhe Force could provide. Especially impressive was their escape mechanism, which utilized subspace principles to ensure swift retreats and the safety of their occupants.

”Jia Yan, don’t get me wrong, but at your current Venerable Level, what’s the point of heading out?”

Tiantesu, clearly displeased, grumbled at Jia Yan.

Among the group of ships, Jia Yan, Tiantesu, and Xiaoya each occupied one vessel, while the others were piloted by a few secondary powerhouse geniuses. They had been sent along as additional protection for Jia Yan.

However, such a protective force remained inadequate within the central star district, and the Tianhe Force was unable to dispatch a stronger escort.
