Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1355: Chapter 8 I Come to Challenge Repeatedly! [Please Subscribe to the Official Version]

King Er Long of the Er Tian forces had been in a rather poor mood these past days.

He recalled the scene from when he received the order from the Er Long force to come to the 251 Star Zone for an expansion mission.

”Sigh, I wonder how those I sent to request reinforcements from the Er Long force are faring now.”

King Er stood atop the tallest building on the Er Tian Celestial Body, gazing far into the distant Starry Sky.

He was extremely apprehensive about Jia Yan.

Precisely because he could see the latent potential within Jia Yan’s existence, even though the situation was increasingly shifting toward hostility, he couldn’t ignore the recognition of Jia Yan’s promise.

Jia Yan had issued a challenge for a duel, which meant he had some degree of confidence. Right now, King Er wasn’t sure of Jia Yan’s whereabouts, but one thing was certain—if Jia Yan returned, the Er Tian forces might face a substantial crisis.

”But no matter how powerful Jia Yan becomes, he’s insignificant compared to the Strong Ones of Er Long forces. After all, those mighty beings within the Er Long force are akin to Divine Spirits to our semi-permanent star geniuses of the 251 Star Zone.”

As someone who had once been part of the Er Long force, King Er understood the terrifying strength of Er Long forces. Although he had earned the title of ”King,” it was primarily an appeasement gesture. Any true ”King” from the Er Long force could easily take his life.

If just one real ”King” were to arrive, the crisis facing the Er Tian forces could be effortlessly resolved.

”Earlier, I even dispatched a group of Strong Ones to suppress Wu Ci’s power. I wonder how that’s going now.”

King Er felt overwhelmed by the sheer number of issues troubling him, leaving him somewhat disoriented.

”No point overthinking it. Everything I’ve done is merely precautionary. Maybe Jia Yan hasn’t managed to reach my level in just a year.”

With that thought, King Er smirked self-deprecatingly.

Even for a High-level Genius, it was unimaginable that someone could grow from a Middle Period Respectable to a level threatening a semi-permanent star powerhouse within just a year. At least, King Er had never heard of such legends.

”Enough, I’m just worrying unnecessarily. Overthinking all this is why I’ve struggled to reach even greater power.”

King Er chuckled lightly and began preparing to return to his quarters.

But at that moment, a deafening alarm reverberated across the entire Er Tian Celestial Body!

”Whoop, Whoop, Whoop!!”

The shrill blare of the alarm stopped King Er in his tracks, a look of shock crossing his face.

”What’s going on? Who triggered the alarm!”

King Er felt an ominous sensation as he quickly retrieved his communicator to inquire with the monitoring department.

”Lord, the detection station upfront has just discovered... discovered warships from Wu Ci forces!”

A panicked voice responded from the communicator.

”Wu Ci forces? Wu Ci forces haven’t been eliminated yet?”

King Er was taken aback, his disbelief clear. Although he hadn’t personally led the dispatched team, most of the Er Tian forces’ combat power had been deployed.

That team included five or six semi-permanent star-level warriors. How could it be possible for Wu Ci forces, commanded by merely Behalf, to hold their ground?

”There has to be some unexpected variable—what is it?”

Alarmed, King Er’s mind raced as he pondered the situation.

He suspected Wolf Star’s involvement, but even then, it shouldn’t have annihilated the entire Er Tian forces’ squad. Surely, they were simply delayed in their return.

Finding this reasoning most plausible, King Er settled his nerves slightly.

As long as the cause was identifiable, the situation retained room for maneuver. If Wolf Star were indeed responsible, he wouldn’t be concerned because their forces were evenly matched. King Er was confident that he could deal with Wolf Star.

”Alright, no need to panic. Just inquire about their intentions.”

King Er instructed the monitoring station on the frontier before immediately contacting several allied forces.

Should Wolf Star make a move, it certainly wouldn’t act alone—it wouldn’t dare.

The Er Tian forces, being the strongest in the 251 Star Zone, may appear laughable to outsiders, but ”strongest” nonetheless. Without interference from external forces, no local power could threaten the Er Tian forces.

Having taken these measures, King Er regained some calm.

After spending decades building such a formidable force in the 251 Star Zone, experiencing countless major events, he was hardly one to be easily rattled.

Yet today, amidst this composure, an elusive sense of dread loomed over him.

Ten minutes later, the communication channel from earlier buzzed urgently again.

”L-Lord, we... we can’t hold them... Ah!”

The transmission abruptly ended.

”What happened? Respond immediately! Who have you encountered?”

King Er’s heart clenched, and he hastily demanded an answer, but the communication line had gone dead.

”Damn it, what’s happening? The assault from Wu Ci forces has jammed communications from the monitoring station? Even Wolf Star wouldn’t be capable of this!”

Now visibly restless, King Er took flight, heading to the outskirts of the celestial body to peer into the distant Starry Sky.

The starry monitoring station was two million kilometers away, so it was impossible to discern anything from here, but his actions conveyed his evident urgency.

Under King Er’s command, the entire Er Tian forces mobilized at once.

”Hurry up! Whoever our opponent is this time—it might very well be Wolf Star—let’s teach that self-proclaimed ’Star Zone’s strongest’ fool a lesson, and remind them they can never surpass the Er Tian forces.”

One by one, Secondary Powerhouses began directing their subordinates to commence defensive procedures.

In the Genius Battlefield, battles between forces adhered to certain boundaries; as long as too many geniuses weren’t killed, the official genius battlefield domain wouldn’t intervene. However, excessive fatalities could prompt action.

Still, there were exceptions. Some forces might face eradication without interference from the domain’s official administration.

Thus, carrying out fortified defenses against external forces was a prudent measure, never a mistake.

The Er Tian forces excelled in this regard, demonstrating through rapid coordination why they had become the strongest force in the 251 Star Zone in such a short time.

Within less than half an hour, a small fleet of battleships gradually appeared outside the outskirts of the Er Tian Celestial Body!

”What? Just a handful of battleships?!”

As this small fleet arrived, all beings within the Er Tian forces were initially stunned, then puzzled.

The surprise wasn’t due to the enemy’s overwhelming strength but the opposite.

The invading fleet was astonishingly feeble.

The fleet consisted of only five ships, some visibly damaged, emitting smoke. Among the five, three were merely Small Battleships—Single-person Battleships—of which the Er Tian forces boasted hundreds.

This fleet dared to provoke the Er Tian forces?

The tense geniuses within the Er Tian forces nearly burst into laughter.

Except for one individual.

King Er.

Staring at the approaching fleet, King Er didn’t laugh. The reason was straightforward—such a thinly equipped fleet breaching the Er Tian forces’ defensive network was entirely implausible. The fleet’s inadequacy could only mean one thing: it contained a formidable Strong One!

Fixating coldly on the incoming fleet, King Er’s pupils suddenly contracted!

He recognized the largest ship among the small fleet—it looked familiar.

”Isn’t that Jia Yan’s so-called exclusive vehicle, the Adisa?” he murmured in shock, his heart trembling.

The presence of the Adisa here meant... Jia Yan?

As his thoughts swirled, the Adisa opened its hatch.

A pitch-black creature flew out, standing proudly two hundred kilometers above the Er Tian Celestial Body.

The creature bore an elongated proboscis, its shiny, obsidian-black Exoskeleton glinting. Most striking were its Compound Eyes, composed of countless tiny eyes offering exceptional vision.

The being’s aura was overwhelming; although one could tell it was merely a Middle Period Respectable, none dared to dismiss it!

”King Er, come out! I’ve come to fulfill our duel and resolve the grievances between your Er Tian forces and my Wu Ci forces.”

The creature’s voice carried across, one well-known to every being of the Er Tian forces.

”Jia Yan?!”

One of the monsters within the Er Tian forces exclaimed at the sight on the far monitor.

”It’s actually Jia Yan?!”

Others shared the sentiment, astonished.

News of Jia Yan and King Er’s duel had spread throughout the Er Tian forces, even becoming foundation for a story fit to craft a novel.

Now, seeing Jia Yan, coupled with his words of ”duel,” every monster’s gaze shifted instinctively to King Er at the tallest building of the celestial body.

Inside the building, King Er’s eyes gleamed. On his humanoid-like head, a few hairs rose—his sensory organs signaling the arrival of an exceptionally challenging adversary.

”Jia Yan...”

He softly voiced the name, then opened the building door and flew upwards.

The figure before them was, indeed, Jia Yan!

Today, he had returned to familiar ground.

But this time, his presence carried a starkly different sentiment compared to his previous visit for the Er Tian forces’ genius tournament.

Last time, there’d been a tinge of trepidation entering such an extravagant celestial body; however, this return was utterly devoid of awe. Compared to the forces of the 132 Star Zone, the Er Tian forces were little more than a backwater entity.

As Jia Yan pondered these thoughts aloofly, a colossal monster ascended hurriedly from below the celestial body, stopping before him...

King Er!
