The Elephant Strong One speaking to Jia Yan had a tone icy cold, as if devoid of any emotional undertones.

Jia Yan’s eyes flashed with shock and disbelief.

In that instant, through the perception of his avatar, a fact so startling appeared in Jia Yan’s thoughts that his expression was shaken to the core.

Jia Yan abruptly retreated while scanning the surroundings intently.

”You’re not the employer! Who exactly are you?!”

As Jia Yan retreated explosively, the avatar he controlled charged forward instead, surging with the physical prowess of a High-leveled Talent Sub-level Powerhouse, launching a palm strike aimed directly at the seemingly calm ’Elephant Strong One.’

To his surprise, the strike seemed to pass through layers of space, utterly piercing through the opponent’s head without inflicting the slightest harm.

”Who would have thought? A mere Secondary Level creature—able to uncover my secret—the Genius Battlefield even has such beings. Impressive, truly impressive!”

The Elephant Strong One emitted a sound, its words still devoid of noticeable emotion.

One failed strike led the avatar to retreat swiftly as well. Although Jia Yan did not feel pity for this avatar, in such unpredictable circumstances, the avatar served as a crucial buffer for his safety.

”What exactly are you?!”

Jia Yan retreated several kilometers, only to discover he had reached the edge where gravitational waves began to flow. Any further retreat would plunge him into the gravitational wave.

Behind him, the surging gravitational waves gave Jia Yan pause. Compared to the gravitational wave system he had once encountered, these waves carried an ominous presence—as if an immense creature lurked within, akin to a Giant Dragon thrashing amidst the currents of a mighty river.

Of course, all of this remained vague; Jia Yan couldn’t discern anything clearly.

”What am I? Haha, I don’t even know what I am, you see.”

The Elephant Monster, originally several kilometers away, suddenly appeared before Jia Yan in the blink of an eye.

”You!”

Under this sudden shock, Jia Yan instinctively prepared to retreat again.

But with the turbulent gravitational wave river looming behind him, he forced himself to a halt, refraining from moving backward.

In his heart, a voice warned him: the monster before him wasn’t terrifying. Instead, its every action seemed designed to coerce him into the gravitational wave behind—where true horror awaited.

”Mo Ke—oh no, I should call you Jia Yan, shouldn’t I? What an extraordinary child! You turned into an Evolutionary Creature. And your homeland, Earth—you were once an Earth person. Such a curious past.”

The Elephant Strong One took a step closer to Jia Yan, its tone light, yet filled with a chilling mirth as it recounted Jia Yan’s history.

”You... how do you know this? You...”

Jia Yan’s shocked expressions deepened, and he subconsciously took a step backward under the pressure of those words.

Before he knew it, he had arrived at the edge of the gravitational wave river—just one step away from plunging into its roaring depths.

Utterly shaken, Jia Yan remained unaware that within the blinding brilliance of the endless gravitational wave river, a massive creature appeared with lightning speed—a monstrous shape akin to a terrifying Giant Dragon. At the very moment Jia Yan stepped back toward the edge of the gravitational wave river, it surfaced behind him amidst the watery currents.

Its colossal maw opened wide—a cavernous abyss over ten kilometers in distance between the upper and lower jaws. If Jia Yan were to take one more step back, this horrifying mouth could swallow him whole in an instant!

”Haha, Jia Yan, your secrets are already mine. Your death is inevitable! You—an Earth person turned Evolutionary Creature—and your family on Earth... they still don’t know you’re Jia Yan. If they found out your true form is this Mosquito, wouldn’t their hearts shatter into pieces?”

”No, they wouldn’t... no.” Jia Yan hesitated, lifting his foot as though ready to retreat one more step.

But that step would lead directly into that enormous dragon’s maw.

Beyond that single fateful step lay a life-or-death crisis!

”ROAR!”

In that crucial moment, Jia Yan’s Secondary Powerhouse avatar bellowed a thunderous roar, snapping Jia Yan out of his inexplicable terror.

Finally, the fractured connection between the avatar’s mind and his True Body restored itself.

From the vantage of his avatar, Jia Yan ’saw’ the supermassive jaws right behind him—a hair’s breadth away!

”What the—?!”

Heart hammering in alarm, Jia Yan abruptly leaped forward, no longer concerned about the Elephant Monster before him.

He paid the phantom no heed!

Once his avatar managed to re-establish a tenuous connection, Jia Yan understood—the terrifying Elephant Monster that held him in fear...

...was an illusion, entirely nonexistent!

From the perspective of his avatar, the brainless monstrosity, Jia Yan had been wandering in terror, desperately fleeing from nothing, with his avatar blindly trailing after him.

Only here at the gravitational wave river’s edge, the magnificent and dread-inducing Dragon Monster appeared, alerting the avatar to danger—prompting it to call out and snap Jia Yan back to reality in the nick of time.

In truth, Jia Yan owed his survival entirely to his avatar. Without it, his death might have already been certain.

In one swift motion, Jia Yan shot past the Elephant figure—which turned out to be no more solid than a shadow. Passing through it caused no obstruction whatsoever.

ROAR!!!!——————

The area near the gravitational wave’s influence erupted in chaos as the Giant Dragon Monster wailed furiously, enraged that the prey near its jaws had escaped. The roar was earth-shattering, its reverberations rippling across the gravitational wave zone, threatening to collapse its balance entirely.

”Such a terrifying creature!”

Jia Yan turned back, gazing at the Giant Dragon that had nearly devoured him.

The monster possessed only its head at the gravitational wave river’s edge, seemingly held back by an unseen force, unable to cross the flowing barrier of the gravitational waves. Hence, chasing Jia Yan onto land seemed impossible for now.

Still, Jia Yan dared not stop.

The creature was far too horrifying.

Its head measured no less than ten kilometers in length, and its elongated body stretched for countless kilometers beyond—an incomprehensibly massive form.

The sheer immensity of its form rivaled a small asteroid drifting through space, an existence inciting pure annihilation.

Such an otherworldly monster—this was the first time Jia Yan encountered one in reality.

The power it exuded was immeasurable—a force so dominant that, had it not been restrained within the gravitational wave river’s waters, a mere glance from it could annihilate Jia Yan.

”Horrifying, utterly horrifying—what kind of monster is this?!”

Gripped by a surging terror, Jia Yan fled madly from whence he came.

Faced with such an incomprehensible colossus, he could only run to cling to life.

In the meantime, the monstrous Giant Dragon, enraged by its failed prey, glared resentfully with icy, haunting eyes that seemed to pierce directly into Jia Yan’s soul.

In its fury, the creature retaliated by slamming its tail onto the river behind!

Gravitational wave river waters surged chaotically, spraying in all directions.

The turbulent waves spilled over into the space Jia Yan had just occupied.

Gradually, the Giant Dragon maneuvered itself within the gravitational wave’s flow.

Hour by hour, it advanced, its gaping maw stretched ever wider, speeding toward Jia Yan’s fleeing trajectory—with slow, deliberate strokes of its tail.

Behind him, the gravitational waves churned as if the world itself had flipped upside down, chaotic and unrelenting, while the invisible terror chased furiously after him.

Panic-stricken, Jia Yan summoned every ounce of his strength to fly at maximum velocity away.

His avatar likewise burst forth with power, frantically propelling itself through the air.

Both True Body and Avatar moved at breakneck speed—equally frantic, equally fast.

”Oh my, what is that!?”

A moment later, a nearby Secondary Powerhouse, who seemed to have just shaken off some foggy stupor upon entering the gravitational wave zone, bellowed in fear.

Understandably, anyone who had just emerged from mind-altering confusion only to witness the monstrous shadow would feel nothing but paralyzing terror.

Yet the man’s scream was short-lived. Jia Yan stormed past him, and mere kilometers behind, the Giant Dragon Monster lunged forward with jaws wide.

”Ahhh!”

The Secondary Monster shrieked one last time before his cries abruptly ceased.

The Giant Dragon Monster displayed a hint of satisfaction. It gently chewed twice, then made a slow swallowing motion.

This creature was unimaginably fearsome, consuming a Secondary Monster whole without the latter offering a shred of resistance.

”Terrifying—its power clearly exceeds the Semi-permanent star and might rival higher Stellar levels...”

Witnessing such saddening destructive might, Jia Yan pushed full throttle on his escape.

If the creature weren’t forced to intermittently push through the gravitational wave with its body resting afloat suppressed rivers, Jia would already perish.

Despite his clever usage of Distorted Space-making escapades, it still fell short connecting near elemental logic.

Until straining sights diffused attention.
