Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1364: Chapter 17 Challenge Jia Yan! [Subscribe to the genuine version]

”That Duo Jian’s great clan special techniques are actually so terrifying...”

Far away, several light-years from the Twin Starfield’s Genius Battle, Jia Yan quietly stayed in the resting room. Although he should have been a participant, he could only watch the battles through a livestream.

The battle had already ended over half an hour ago.

Yet Jia Yan still recalled the scene of the fight with a shocked expression.

He had truly underestimated the so-called great clan special techniques of Duo Jian. Earlier, he had witnessed Duo Jian battling a dignitary from the Genius Battle Domain who was also at the peak of high-level talent. On the surface, the strengths of both appeared evenly matched, but with a single move, Duo Jian had directly killed the Genius Battlefield’s genius!

Reflecting on it, Jia Yan felt lingering fear. Before arriving at the Central Star Area, although his strength hadn’t significantly grown, he had spent most of his time on the road. He might not have been able to withstand that one move either. Jia Yan wasn’t sure if his bluish defense could resist such an attack without dying—he definitely wouldn’t have won.

”Great clans, terrifying indeed.” After coming to this conclusion, Jia Yan reignited his fighting spirit to surpass such entities!

Aside from this dignitary-level battle, Jia Yan also watched the battles among the secondary powerhouse level combatants and the semi-permanent star geniuses that followed.

High-level geniuses were, after all, high-level geniuses. The ones battling each other were still the top high-level geniuses from their respective starfields. Jia Yan found that he could somewhat understand the secondary powerhouse-level fights. However, when it came to battles between semi-permanent star levels, even in his current state, he couldn’t comprehend them at all!

”Terrifying! Absolutely terrifying—especially the semi-permanent star geniuses. I originally thought I could kill many ordinary semi-permanent star geniuses and even looked down on high-level geniuses. But their strength... it’s simply not something I can deal with now. Encountering them, I wouldn’t even have a chance to escape.”

After watching this top-tier battle among starfield geniuses, Jia Yan finally understood how far his abilities still lagged compared to truly talented beings.

”It’s said that these are only the strong ones below the top-tier geniuses. Then what would the top-tier geniuses of the Genius Battlefield look like?”

Thinking of geniuses even stronger than the peak high-level ones, Jia Yan felt as though a monumental mountain loomed before him, bringing a sense of near despair.

”But pressure creates motivation! I aspire to defy the heavens—skipping the dignitary level and directly advancing to the stellar level! If I’m intimidated even by geniuses at the same level, how can I ever achieve such a heaven-defying feat?!”

After witnessing this genius battle, Jia Yan felt both pressure and, even more so, motivation.

Jia Yan clarified the path ahead for himself: continuing to enhance his strength on his existing foundation. Not only did he need to study the inherited battle techniques left by the senior who passed down his legacy, but he also had to innovate his own strategies. Especially the black hole he had painstakingly smuggled into the Central Star Area through the Star Transmitter Channel, evading Mermaid Race Xiaoya’s notice previously!

If he could utilize the black hole strategy more effectively, he believed his combat power would see another massive improvement.

Of course, these were just aspects of power. Jia Yan had much more to work on, such as laying the groundwork starting now. To skip from the dignitary level to the stellar level, his body needed to start nourishing itself, and he also had to prepare energy reserves, among other things.

”My lord, the bathwater is ready. Would you like to bathe now?”

The voice of the Mermaid Monster echoed in Jia Yan’s ears.

Turning around, he saw Xiaoya dressed in the servant attire of the Tianhe Force, standing before him.

It was unclear whether some seniors of the Tianhe Force in the past found the Mermaid Race pleasing to the eye, but a treaty had been signed with the Mermaid Race, which allowed some members with decent talent to enter the Tianhe Force as servants. Of course, becoming formal members wasn’t out of the question for the more outstanding ones.

Now, the maid outfit on Xiaoya made Jia Yan’s eyes brighten. She looked like a beautiful girl from Earth: a high, curvy figure restrained by her attire, a slender body—if not for the fish tail at her feet and her massive size of several dozen meters, she could have passed for an Earthly beauty.

”Ahem, I’ll bathe now—attend to me,” Jia Yan said, feigning seriousness with a cough.

”Alright.” Xiaoya didn’t think much of it. After all, they were entirely different species, and reproduction between them wasn’t on her mind, so she found Jia Yan’s words perfectly normal.

As a result, Jia Yan was thoroughly pampered. Xiaoya used a brush to scrub his Mosquito body, while Jia Yan took the opportunity to let his gaze wander freely.

Of course, enjoyment was one thing—he couldn’t neglect his cultivation.

”Compared to those so-called geniuses, I have both advantages and disadvantages. My biggest advantage, I believe, is still my Evolutionary Creature body.”

After bathing, Jia Yan returned to his cultivation room.

He wasn’t sure whether the Central Star Area forces had a way to condense cosmic energy, but he felt an unusual activeness in the energy here, which boosted his cultivation speed significantly.

”My Evolutionary Creature body, at least for now, remains unmatched. Especially each time I enhance my strength, my body is remolded, completely healing previous injuries and eliminating hidden dangers.”

The advantages of his Evolutionary Creature body extended far beyond that. There were also physical stamina advantages, repair capabilities, and many more—it was too much to list.

But Jia Yan understood that gains always came with losses. His Evolutionary Creature body meant missing out on certain things as well, such as being unable to use typical methods that cosmic creatures employed to enhance their power. Some so-called cultivation methods were almost useless to him. Even in his current cultivation room, at most, he could achieve a slight improvement, whereas other cosmic beings could genuinely convert the room’s energy into strength.

Of course, when comparing advantages to disadvantages, the former still outweighed the latter. The benefits of an Evolutionary Creature body were something no other species could truly understand.

”Since there are both advantages and disadvantages, I need to leverage my strengths and avoid my weaknesses wisely.”

”Additionally, I must greatly improve my strength. Otherwise, if I aim to advance from dignitary to stellar level but continue being suppressed by top-tier secondary powerhouses and semi-permanent star levels before my breakthrough, it would be far too frustrating. If I can’t beat even them, I doubt I’d have the momentum to smoothly enter the stellar level. That confidence is key...”

Jia Yan contemplated deeply, and gradually, some paths became clear in his mind.

While Jia Yan quietly refined his plans, steadily enhancing his strength and waiting for his chance to astonish everyone, unseen undercurrents were stirring, with their sights set on him!

”Duo Jian! I will avenge my brother!”

Within the Central Star District of the Genius Battlefield, there was a Diplomatic Star designated for strong ones or emissaries from the outer star areas. Nearly all its inhabitants hailed from extraterrestrial domains.

That day, on the Diplomatic Star, a group of powerhouses from the Stellar Academy received an unexpected visitor who came with a challenge.

”So you’ve come for Duo Jian, huh? Haha, you weaklings from the Genius Battle Domain keep losing and coming back for more challenges—aren’t you tired of it? We’re exhausted just watching. Do you fools think the so-called Genius Battle Domain plans to wear us down with a relay of fights?”

A secondary powerhouse-level genius from the Stellar Academy sneered when he heard the challenger’s declaration. Without waiting for a retort, he called out loudly.

”Duo Jian, they’re here for you again.”

Soon enough, the challenger came face-to-face with a dignitary-level peer who emanated overwhelming pressure.

”Are you certain you want to challenge me? Your ranking is even lower than the dignitary I defeated last time. I advise you to reconsider—I don’t want to kill another Genius Battlefield genius and incur grudges from your officials.”

The Sea Cow Monster stared at the genius-level dignitary before him with disdain.

Having mastered the great clan special techniques, he held no regard for geniuses of the same level. He even believed he could now rival top-tier dignitary-level geniuses in battle.

”You...” The Genius Battlefield dignitary faltered, wishing to retort but realizing he truly couldn’t match the opponent’s power.

”Fine, I’ll give you a chance. If you wish to challenge me, go first and defeat one of your own—a dignitary named Jia Yan. Based on what I know, while his strength might be a bit weaker than mine, the gap shouldn’t be too large. Beat him and then come to me. I’ll wait in the Stellar Academy for a week at most—no longer.”

Leaving this statement, Duo Jian walked away nonchalantly.

”Hmm? A dignitary from our Genius Battlefield named Jia Yan?”

The genius battlefield dignitary, feeling both relieved and curious, was baffled.

As a distinguished dignitary-level genius of the Genius Battlefield, he considered himself familiar with most of his peers. Yet, he had never even heard of someone named ”Jia Yan.”

”Could this Duo Jian have made up a name to mislead me? No, he wouldn’t go that far. Anyway, I’ll investigate—being praised by Duo Jian, that person’s strength must be traceable.”

The dignitary genius promptly left the Diplomatic Star.

Meanwhile, the geniuses of the Stellar Academy on the Diplomatic Star were not particularly surprised by Duo Jian’s words. He had already used a similar excuse to brush off several other challengers.

”Duo Jian, not bad. Haha, I hadn’t expected you to use that Jia Yan as a scapegoat. Harassed endlessly by these so-called Genius Battlefield geniuses, it looks like Jia Yan will be in for a hectic time.”

The secondary powerhouse genius from earlier teased Duo Jian.

”Haha, what else could I do? I’m not particularly wary of Jia Yan’s abilities anymore, but without using him as a shield, I’d be forced to accept all these challenges. I still care a bit about the Genius Battlefield officials’ reputation—I wouldn’t want to provoke those old stellar-level monsters into stopping us from leaving by killing more of their geniuses.” Duo Jian chuckled.

The Tianhe Force wasn’t situated too far off in the Central Star Area of the Genius Battlefield, reflecting the prowess of the original geniuses who established the faction.

Lately, the entire Tianhe Force was swept up in celebratory fervor.

It was rumored that the high-ranking members of the Tianhe Force had successfully recruited a talented strongman with abilities second only to the top-tier geniuses. Although this genius was currently at the dignitary level, his talent was such that, should he reach semi-permanent star level, he would undoubtedly become a trailblazer in the Genius Battlefield. The Tianhe Force would subsequently ascend to prominence, becoming an influential power in the Central Star District.

Yet, while everyone else prepared for a grand welcoming ceremony, a challenge letter arrived at the Tianhe Force’s headquarters.

”A challenge for Jia Yan?!”
