Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1383: Chapter 36: The Space Talent that Disrupts Balance! [Seek Licensed Subscription]

”Tell me, how can I have a subordinate with high-level talent and secondary powerhouse strength?”

Jia Yan retracted his metallic tentacle indifferently, his gaze sharpening slightly as he asked.

The tiny creature glanced around nervously, as if fearing someone might overhear him. Yet, here in the subspace, how could there be anyone else present?

”Hehe, my Lord, I am from the Brain-Eating Tribe. As long as you don’t kill me, I can control this genius body and remain under your command.”

Jia Yan paused as he listened to the other’s words.

Brain-Eating Tribe—he had never heard of this species before.

But soon, his expression changed again.

Without hesitation, his tentacle lashed down forcefully!

In the space, a flash of lightning struck down.

”Ah!”

The monster of the Brain-Eating Tribe cried out in shock. Transforming into a streak of light, it narrowly dodged the tentacle attack.

”Hmph, just as expected.” Jia Yan’s eyes shimmered with a peculiar brilliance.

”My Lord, please don’t kill me, I beg you!” The creature of the Brain-Eating Tribe shouted loudly, retreating continuously.

Yet within this subspace, he dared not stray too far from Jia Yan; the surrounding distorted space could easily spell his demise.

”You appear to be weak, yet you were able to dodge my strike. This demonstrates that your strength is no less than that of the Dignitaries. How can I trust you? Furthermore, if you re-enter that secondary powerhouse genius’s body, how can I possibly control you?”

In mere moments, Jia Yan deduced the Brain-Eater’s method of control—it likely involved somehow consuming the brain of the secondary powerhouse genius and replacing its function to indirectly control the strong one’s body.

Could such a creature truly become Jia Yan’s subordinate?

Jia Yan did not believe it would honor any agreement.

Though the prospect of having a subordinate with high-level talent and secondary powerhouse strength tempted him—especially since his current combat power, even at full capacity, was barely on par with such a genius—the convenience of such assistance was undeniable.

However, if it meant exposing himself to danger and the ever-present risk of betrayal, Jia Yan would rather forgo such a subordinate.

”My Lord, I’m telling the truth! I can extract the control core from this body and hand it to you. Once it’s dormant, you would have full control of this body.”

The Brain-Eating creature desperately shouted.

As Jia Yan was about to strike again with his tentacle, he suddenly paused.

”What is this ’core’ you’re talking about? Explain clearly.”

Jia Yan’s interest was piqued, though he appeared ready to kill the creature if its next steps failed to satisfy him.

Indeed, Jia Yan had already made up his mind: should the Brain-Eater fail to prove its usefulness or truthfulness, he would not hesitate to eliminate it. After all, nothing outweighed the importance of his own safety.

Under Jia Yan’s piercing gaze, the creature of the Brain-Eating Tribe showed palpable fear.

Finally, it appeared to reach a decision.

”My Lord, I initially intended to use the core’s dormancy to win your trust. But now, it seems I must go further to ensure my survival. So instead, I will completely destroy my core. In doing so, I won’t be able to recover for at least three hundred years. During this time, you can fully control my functions. I’ll also instruct you on how to use it. Please, spare my life.”

The Brain-Eater spoke softly, explaining its plan.

After finishing, the creature squeezed out a white, kernel-like object from its brain-flower-like body.

Pop!

Under Jia Yan’s watchful gaze, the white core exploded completely.

To Jia Yan’s astonishment, the creature appeared to lose all consciousness; now, its brain core shattered, it resembled nothing more than a lifeless lump of flesh.

However, based on the creature’s previous explanations, Jia Yan understood that it hadn’t truly died; its ”core”—akin to the brain of most species—had been entirely destroyed.

”To think it could still regenerate after three hundred years? This species is truly miraculous. There must be so many lifeforms in the universe I don’t know about.”

Jia Yan shook his head in amazement.

He cautiously examined the brain-flower-like creature floating in space, then approached.

The Brainwave Power within the creature was entirely gone. No matter how Jia Yan stimulated it with his Brainwave Power—even thrusting a tentacle right before its face—the creature showed no reaction.

By now, Jia Yan was slowly starting to believe the creature had effectively entered a ”brain-dead” state.

”I can’t trust its claims. Should I kill it now? If it regains control of that secondary powerhouse’s avatar, it would become a troublesome foe.”

Jia Yan doubted the veracity of its words, hesitating slightly.

And yet, he could not ignore the allure of a subordinate with high-level talent and secondary powerhouse strength!

After all, having such a subordinate would significantly benefit Jia Yan, greatly enhancing his capabilities.

”Fine, let’s give it a shot. In any case, I won’t leave the Conceptual Ship during the process. Even if this creature tries something, it should struggle to harm me.”

At last, Jia Yan resolved to take the risk; without taking a gamble, he could never reap substantial rewards.

”It mentioned that its brain-flower body had already been primed with a superlinked circuit. All I need to do is activate it with Brainwave Power...”

Jia Yan recalled the Brain-Eater’s detailed instructions as he carefully released a thread of Brainwave Power.

Contacting the brain-flower creature, Jia Yan cautiously began a delicate connection, then immediately withdrew.

Given the unknown nature of this peculiar Brain-Eating Tribe species, Jia Yan dared not relax his vigilance for a moment.

But the initial contact resulted in no reaction.

Finally emboldened, Jia Yan allowed the thread of Brainwave Power to fully penetrate the creature’s pale body.

Then, this Brainwave Power appeared to unlock a door—or perhaps activate some mechanism—within the Brain-Eater’s form, triggering the reawakening of various biological functions!

Bridge-like energy connections activated one after another, unveiling concealed forces that left Jia Yan astonished.

Despite the creature’s small size, its internal structure was undoubtedly extraordinary.

Eventually, Jia Yan fully grasped the intricacies of the body, which was now wholly open to his Brainwave Power.

After a long while, Jia Yan withdrew from the creature’s body, exhaling deeply as he shook his head.

”So that’s how it works. No wonder it claimed I would understand its veracity after examining its open body.”

For the first time, Jia Yan discovered the existence of the Brain-Eating Tribe. Clearly, this species must dwell in the shadows of the universe. Its terrifying and manipulative capabilities would undoubtedly inspire dread among even the strongest beings, more so than those of the Evolved Beast Tribe.

The species’ survival strategy revolved around transferring control of a powerful body in exchange for its own safety—just as the creature had done here. This unique method ensured relatively low mortality for the Brain-Eaters. Of course, if the new owner of the controlled body did not slay it before its recovery in three hundred years, it would simply be bad luck for them.

”Three hundred years? I don’t need that much time.”

After studying its bridging mechanisms, Jia Yan confirmed the creature’s claims were genuine: at least three hundred years were required for its recovery. During this interval, Jia Yan could dominate its central functions using his Brainwave Power.

Leaving behind a faint trace of Brainwave Power in the Brain-Eater’s body, Jia Yan then transplanted it into the dormant brain of the secondary powerhouse genius.

Soon, the previously lifeless secondary genius began to show signs of vitality, its eyes regaining a spark...

”It’s now like an extension of myself. The Brainwave links feel identical to my avatars; they’re virtually undetectable and unbreakable.”

Jia Yan tested the Brainwave connection between himself and the awakened creature, nodding in satisfaction.

He could effortlessly control this body now, and aside from unfamiliarity with its physical form, it exhibited no flaws.

Having gained control over a high-level talent secondary powerhouse avatar, Jia Yan’s strength soared substantially, greatly expanding his range of actionable plans.

Within the subspace, two figures flew rapidly—one leading and one following.

Meanwhile, not far from the site of their prior battle, a single-person battleship was following faint residual traces at breakneck speed.

”Damn it, the subspace talent disrupts the balance too much! I can’t catch up to him!”

”But it doesn’t matter. My talent lies in pursuit; now that his speed is slowing down, he’ll soon return to normal space. Just wait; I’ll kill him for sure!”

The Semi-permanent Star entity seethed with fury over Jia Yan’s escape. Especially since Jia Yan had killed several Secondary Powerhouses, including one with high-level talent, right under his nose. Now, Jia Yan’s actions had made him a target of universal hostility within the BeiTuan Faction—how could he possibly let Jia Yan go?!

”Next time I encounter him, I won’t hold back. I’ll strike immediately with lethal force to ensure he’s utterly annihilated. If I allow him to escape with his subspace talent again, I won’t be able to catch him.”

The Semi-permanent Star genius mentally formulated a plan. With the immense escape advantage provided by subspace talent, he knew that unless he killed Jia Yan instantly, history might repeat itself.

This Semi-permanent Star genius, however, had not yet uncovered Jia Yan’s identity. He hadn’t even seen Jia Yan’s true appearance once; his talent allowed him only to sense Jia Yan’s traces from afar.

Meanwhile, Jia Yan, fleeing ahead, was entirely unaware of the existence trailing after him—a pursuer capable of stalking him across billions of kilometers. Without adequate preparation, any sudden attack might catch him off guard.

Of course, whether the confrontation would unfold as predicted depended entirely on their performance in battle.

In the subspace, Jia Yan and his newly acquired high-level talent secondary powerhouse companion rapidly approached the Star Man Faction’s main star.

”Now that I possess this secondary powerhouse body, my combat power has significantly increased. However, I’m still likely outmatched by an intermediate-level Semi-permanent Star genius. Next, I’ll complete the exploration mission. If I can secure some gold, silver, or treasures and trade them for a few space stones, I’ll create several Space Burst Stones for better protection.”

Jia Yan plotted his next course before emerging from subspace.
