Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1399: Chapter 11 Building Power [Seeking Genuine Subscription]

In truth, Jia Yan was merely facing those with average combat strength within the central area.

Previously, Jia Yan fought life-and-death battles, frequently encountering intermediate or even high-level talents at semi-permanent star levels. But in reality, such meetings were rare. It was either sheer bad luck or exceptionally good luck on his part.

Now, when confronted with a group of secondary powerhouses of average strength, Jia Yan alone could even cower them!

”Run!”

Among the secondary-level beings below the stars, there was one exceptionally perceptive individual who uncourteously turned and fled immediately. The space behind him even started to distort slightly, hinting at an attempt to enter subspace.

However, in the presence of a truly space-talented strong one, such rudimentary use of space talent to accelerate meant absolutely nothing.

In the second after his escape began, the space behind him split open. A foreclaw, like an arrow, shot forth and pierced right through him!

”This...”

The secondary subspace being never imagined that he would actually encounter an entity whose mastery of space talent far surpassed his own. Now gravely injured with a single strike, he was completely immobilized.

This was only because Jia Yan had acted on impulse and refrained from delivering a fatal blow.

He had thought of a brilliant idea.

”If you don’t want to die, then stop running. I won’t kill you.”

Jia Yan spoke indifferently.

”Uh...”

A group of secondary powerhouses with intermediate talents who just moments ago were thinking of escaping all paused abruptly, their eyes turning to Jia Yan, who had somehow appeared on the planet’s surface.

Having witnessed Jia Yan’s mastery of space talent, they understood that even if some among them managed to escape, they would be few in number. Out of ten monsters, it would be impressive if even one survived. More likely, under pursuit by this metallic crow, they would face complete annihilation.

”What is your group called?”

Jia Yan glanced at the space-talented secondary-level genius lying immobile at his feet, his voice chilling as he posed the question.

”Replying to this Lord of the Ting Tian Pavilion, we have no name. We were originally just a group of secondary-level strong ones who failed to thrive in the Dark Realm and banded together here to make an existence.”

One of the secondary powerhouses respectfully answered Jia Yan.

”Very good. Now tell me—how should I deal with you?”

Jia Yan chuckled and then turned his head to look at a secondary subspace being attempting to flee.

That individual, caught in Jia Yan’s gaze, froze entirely as though a prehistoric beast had locked onto him.

It must be understood that Jia Yan had previously fought against an intermediate-talented semi-permanent star level strong one. The aura he had honed in such high-tier combat was nearly on par with that level, instilling terror in ordinary secondary powerhouses.

Under that gaze, the fleeing secondary-level genius halted entirely, convinced he was about to die.

Fortunately, Jia Yan did not launch an attack.

”Lord, we are willing to serve you. Even toil like beasts or horses if necessary.” One secondary-level genius, quick on the draw, immediately pledged allegiance upon noticing Jia Yan’s expression.

He understood clearly that this desolate planet was entirely barren, with nothing of value. If the other party wanted anything, they could just kill them and take it directly. That they hadn’t been killed meant Jia Yan wanted something from them personally.

”Yes, Lord, we are willing to labor tirelessly for your service.”

The surrounding secondary-level monsters, apparently quick learners, hastily echoed similar sentiments.

Jia Yan nodded in satisfaction.

”Fine, then help me pilot some cargo ships back to my Ting Tian Pavilion.”

”Understood.”

Within the span of one meal, seven or eight cargo ships lifted off from the tiny planet together. As for the outdated single-person battleships, Jia Yan strictly forbade the group from bringing them.

To save their lives, they of course obeyed Jia Yan’s every command unquestioningly.

”The Ting Tian Pavilion happens to lack manpower. Of course, I killed one of their comrades earlier, so they can’t be loyal to me. But I only need their help for now. If anyone acts out in the future, I’ll simply kill them.”

Jia Yan’s plan was cunning: temporarily recruit this group and deal with any troublemakers later.

Even if one or two escaped, Jia Yan wouldn’t care. After all, he didn’t think highly of these types to begin with.

This small, hastily assembled ”merchant convoy” turned into prey along the Dark Realm’s edges, catching the attention of small groups like sharks smelling blood. They approached one after another to launch attacks against them.

However, those attacks profoundly frightened the secondary beings under Jia Yan’s control, revealing his true power to them!

”This isn’t just a secondary-level genius. Even an intermediate-talented semi-permanent star level being wouldn’t be much stronger than him. Just earlier, didn’t we face thirty-something intermediate-talented secondary beings attacking us? And yet, Sir Mo Ke killed them all without leaving a single survivor!”

”Indeed. Sir Mo Ke is terrifying. Fortunately, we didn’t try escaping. Otherwise, our fate would have been similar.”

The convoy, under Jia Yan’s banner, pushed onward, leaving a trail of carnage in its wake that stunned small groups across the region.

By the journey’s end, numbering seven altogether, over a hundred secondary monsters perished under the claws of Jia Yan’s conceptual ship.

”Such terror! I bet the reputation of the Ting Tian Pavilion will spread swiftly across this frontier region.”

As the group hauling Jia Yan’s cargo grew from being scared to indifferent, then from indifferent to viewing Jia Yan’s victories as inevitable, they finally arrived outside the headquarters star of the Ting Tian Pavilion after over half a month of flight.

”We’re here. For now, the pavilion is still in its infancy. Find a spot to build your own houses.”

Jia Yan instructed the secondary powerhouses to construct their dwellings on the flattened area of the planet, then flew to his stone cabin that had already been built.

Behind him, the forcibly recruited secondary monsters were stunned.

Initially, they thought Jia Yan’s eagerness to recruit even enemies meant the Ting Tian Pavilion desperately lacked manpower. But upon arrival, they realized the situation was far worse—there wasn’t a single other soul present!

”Well, since we’re here, we might as well settle down. Honestly, I sense there’s another impressive secondary-level being inside the house Jia Yan entered. Perhaps they’re also a high-level talent secondary-level being. With these two Lords, we might fare better than before.”

”Agreed. The Lord spared our lives, which is already a great favor. This might even turn out to be an opportunity. With how newly established this group is, we might rise in rank more easily. Let’s stay loyal, everyone.”

From afar, Jia Yan overheard these discussions among the secondary monsters and nodded in satisfaction. Naturally, he understood that they were deliberately speaking loud enough for him to hear. After all, if they had truly used their brainwave power to transmit thoughts, he wouldn’t have been able to eavesdrop.

Creating a group like this wasn’t Jia Yan’s first time. Though he was far from being an expert manager, he wasn’t inexperienced either. He could handle things decently.

”Alright, I’ve summoned the first client of this group over. When they arrive, be sure not to scare them. Apologize properly if necessary, and I imagine they’ll forgive you. Even if they don’t, it doesn’t matter; just finish your work.”

Jia Yan gathered several secondary beings together while his secondary avatar appeared among them, providing introductions.

Upon discovering that the Ting Tian Pavilion actually had another high-level talent secondary-level genius besides Jia Yan, even those who had no confidence in the group’s future gained some hope.

In this frontier of the Dark Realm, any faction possessing a high-level talent secondary-level being was considered formidable, especially since semi-permanent star-level beings were unlikely to sully themselves by lingering in such backwaters.

Surprisingly, this batch of captives turned impromptu staff exceeded Jia Yan’s expectations, exhibiting enthusiasm as they worked on tidying up the planet.

Secondary-level strong ones possessed power that could shape worlds. The gap between them and semi-permanent star-level beings was only one tier. Ten intermediate-level secondary beings acting in unison could make progress on the planet far faster than Jia Yan alone.

”Lord, our previous planet was designed for concealment, so we didn’t dare to decorate it magnificently. But now, this Ting Tian Pavilion headquarters can’t follow that trend. It’s our front-facing hub; it must be done properly.”

”Indeed, Lord, we understand the aesthetic vision you’ve described. We’re now working on creating it accordingly.”

A group of secondary-level geniuses followed Jia Yan’s design for ”Chinese Gardens,” crafting unique stones and spectacular scenery.

The dense Huaxia aesthetic deeply satisfied Jia Yan. Though rough in parts, its stylistic charm gave it an incredibly distinctive atmosphere.

Amidst this fervent construction and grand development, the first client of the Ting Tian Pavilion finally arrived.

”So, this is the headquarters of the Ting Tian Pavilion I hired before?”

A secondary-level strong one arrived aboard a rented battleship, landing on the small planet Jia Yan had named ”Hearing Sky Star.”

The Ting Tian Pavilion was no longer the half-hearted setup it had been under Jia Yan’s casual efforts. Though it appeared as though very little money or care had gone into detailing it, its aesthetic designs stood out. For a frontier region like this, where most groups avoided beautifying their bases to conceal their locations, this star undoubtedly had character.

The client descended toward the star with a peculiar look in their eyes.

”Dear friend, what brings you to our Ting Tian Pavilion today?”

One of the newly recruited secondary-level geniuses flew to the battleship, greeting the client politely.

Of course, the question was feigned politeness. Everyone knew the only one coming to the pavilion now would be the secondary-level genius they had robbed earlier.

”Ah, greetings. I’m the client who previously hired your Ting Tian Pavilion. I’ve already paid the deposit.”

The visiting secondary-level monster hesitated, eyeing the welcoming figure, who seemed familiar but whose identity remained elusive.

Thanks to ’luoke000’ for the reward. Thank you.
