Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5156: Spring Comes For The Wretched

“Yes!”

The four youths immediately rushed in, seemingly losing all decorum and the hierarchy they had built in a short time and maintained.

Even Pretzen Grayscale launched himself ahead of everyone.

*Spash!~*

There were four repeated splashes as they entered the essence spring.

Davis nearly reeled back as his expression scrunched in pain when he saw them jump to utter misery.

He felt sorry for Pretzen Grayscale and Crown Prince Wilxes Ingrimm since they were unrelated parties, but the way he saw it, they weren’t any good apples either, so he didn’t feel the need to stop them either.

“Thousand Windblades…”

Davis turned to look at this man who needlessly attacked his forces and then escaped because he failed to deal with Calypsea.

“Yes, City Lord. Do you have any instructions for me?” Thousand Windblades asked respectfully.

Inwardly, he was gleaming with joy.

A while ago, while Girias and the others were engaged in battle with the City Lord’s forces, he had made contact with City Lord Kain in secret and revealed the Saint’s condition in hopes of joining him. After all, he felt the Saint was done for. No matter what kind of talent one has, it doesn’t matter if they weren’t going to survive.

Two extremely powerful experts had attacked the Saint and left without a ruckus.

This was them basically saying that they could deal with the Saint anytime they wanted. It wasn’t a warning but a full-fledged threat.

As for what reason, he didn’t understand, but he didn’t dare stay until he knew of it either, knowing he might not survive the next time they attacked.

Thankfully, the City Lord accepted him without making a scene, even welcoming him with a genial smile that he somewhat found strange, but still his help in order to survive. All he asked was the Saint’s current location, so he could head there with his first madam and console him.

Thousand Windblades didn’t think much of it since they already had secret deals between each other. He informed him, even telling him about the current guards indirectly while wishing the City Lord would finish the Saint himself so he didn’t have to be blamed for any sort of betrayal.

In the end, it would be better if the Hexadra Clan’s forces finished the City Lord after that. After all, the Saint was a big character whose potential had already caught the attention of a wide variety of forces in the Greater Realms. If it weren’t for the Hexadra Clan secretly monopolizing him, the other Upper Realm powers would’ve already tried to call dibs on him.

Thousand Windblades felt his plan was impeccable.

However, there was no free meal, so he quickly entered servant mode again.

With his calculating smile and his gaze slightly lowered, he barely managed to see a flicker before something hit him right at his forehead. He could barely feel it, much less react.

His eyes went dull as he collapsed on the spot.

When Davis brought his hand back, his finger lingered with a trace of reincarnation energy, which faded quickly.

He then nonchalantly turned to look towards the Spirit Essence Spring- only, it wasn’t the Spirit Essence Spring but a misty crimson poison field placed in front of the Spirit Essence Spring.

They jumped right into it, frantically absorbing the poison inside them under the influence of his Illusion Laws.

At this moment, a purple-crimson-haired woman strode towards Davis and stood beside him, her gaze also cast towards the poison field that she had created right after the elders left and Thousand Windblades appeared, which made Davis use Misdirection, subsequently using an illusion which then allowed her to create a poison field in a few seconds right under their noses.

“I’ve made the poison pool weaker.”

“Perfect, we don’t want them quickly dying on us.”

Davis smirked. He nearly raised his hand and caressed Evelynn’s cheek, but stopped himself before turning to look at them, quickly fainting one after another.

“Wait… something’s wrong…!”

Crown Prince Wilxes Ingrimm barely managed to sense that something was wrong with his body as he felt incredibly itchy. He wanted to quickly take out a distress jade talisman to warn his Grand Elder, but at this moment, a second hex appeared in his mind, lulling him into sleep.

He fainted along with the three others.

“The Emerald Deathly Knight’s Corrosion Hex and Slumber Hex are indeed potent.”

Evelynn’s lips curled lightly as she tested new types of hexes that weren’t part of her six hexes of being an evolved Evilbane Hexweaver Arachnid.

“It’s potent under your Hex Laws.” Davis reiterated her words with a chuckle, “He was so weak he didn’t deserve that title when I blasted him near the Jadedrite Sword Mini Realm while trying to hunt the Voidslime Realm Eater along with Stella. It reminds me that I have to return and give special attention to my lovely Nicejade. I hope she isn’t angry with me or sad.”

“Jade wouldn’t be irate with you. She’s a patient and mature woman, as she was a former Sect Master and, before joining us, had been the top disciple in the Jadeflow River Temple subordinated to the Hyluan Family of the Chrono Reign Upper Realm. Her ability in using Time Laws is peerless even by our standards, so if she continued her cultivation like a top disciple, she would’ve become a grand character, possibly even exceeding the likes of the Hyluan Family’s Time Law Experts. The fact she decided to get with you right after meeting you, after knowing you had more than thirty wives, is proof that she deeply loves you.”

Evelynn secretly elbowed him as she cast a look at Jillian Hayden, who remained in the shadows, watching with wide eyes.

Jillian Hayden couldn’t believe they were acting against the Saint’s forces. Were they here for the Saint?

Moreover, a prideful woman like a Sect Master and a top disciple at the Upper Realms whose ability in using Time Laws could even match that of the Hyluan Family chose to be Davis’s side?

That was insane.

She was aware that there was no power other than the Hyluan Family in using Time Laws to a frightening degree. She didn’t know if it changed now, but even back then, they were feared and respected. Most Time Chamber Formations currently spread around the realms came from them, and they were even capable of reviving people using Spacetime Laws.

She felt it was insane that such a character decided to abandon their future to get with the Divine Emperor of Death.

“…”

Davis was speechless.

Not only was Evelynn no longer against Jillian Hayden anymore, but she was even supporting her now, going as far as to stir her with his achievements of attracting powerful women?

He couldn’t help but wonder again what the bet Zenova and Evelynn made was. This issue was more on his mind than the issue of the elders outside who could break in any moment if they realized something was wrong.

However, he was precisely waiting for that moment because he wanted to make them his puppets, and if they died, their corpses and ghosts.

They were going to be his undead forces in the fight against the Heaven’s Warriors.

“But my third eye can only use six innate hexes and Charm Hex at the moment.” Evelynn frowned, returning to the topic at hand, “The composition of the Corrosion Hex and Slumber Hex is fundamentally different that it could only be spread through the poison mist I unleash.”

“I see.”

Davis thought it was no wonder she asked him to make an illusory space in front of the Spirit Essence Spring.

He would like nothing more than to jump into the spring with Evelynn now and increase his cultivation to Level Four Empyrean Stage, but first things first.

He raised his hand, pulling Girias and Harmon, as well as Pretzen Grayscale and Wilxes Ingrimm.

Evelynn’s otherworldly third eye’s color shifted into a remarkable blue gem.

Sealing Hex!

Her gaze then fell on Thousand Windblades, also sealing him.

Their cultivations were now sealed.

Even Thousand Windblades, whose overall prowess put him at the level of a Level Four Primarch, would be hard-pressed to break it once the hex was woven into him. He could only rely on others to help him, but would that be possible under these circumstances?

However, Evelynn didn’t stop.

Her blue third eye shone with a crimson-blue light.

Bloodline Suppression Hex!

The hex formed by using Sealing Hex and Blood Hex. It not only caused the five of their bloodline powers to be suppressed, no matter if it is a legacy bloodline, beast bloodline, or spirit bloodline. It instantly sealed their ability to use bloodline techniques and species techniques.

Consequently, they could also forget about burning their blood essence to increase their power!

But Evelynn didn’t stop here, her pair of purple eyes gleaming with hatred while her third eye shone with a jade-blue, an azure light.

Sealed Poison Hex!

This hex formed between Sealing Hex and Poison Hex instantly implanted a potent yet suppressed poison that wouldn’t be unleashed until she wished it through her third eye. In fact, those who were unaware of Hex Laws would be hard-pressed to make sense of what it was since it would be like a treasure covered in a rock. Only if they break the outer shell would they know that there was terrifying poison sealed in it.

“…”

Davis looked at Evelynn as though asking her if she was going to leave anything to him.

She smiled knowingly, “This way, even if the Celestial Transcendent wants to save them, it would be impossible unless he revives them.”

She also learned that she could stack a lot of hexes on top of each other.

“The Celestial Transcendent wouldn’t revive these two trashes, but alright, my first wife is ruthless enough that she left no way out for these two poor souls as well.”

Davis gazed at Pretzen Grayscale and Wilxes Ingrimm with a pitiful gaze.

“Birds of a feather flock together. Considering they were in sync with Harmon and Girias, they wouldn’t be any better.”

“Indeed. I- really don’t care at this moment.”

Davis reached down, his hand descending like the hand of heaven imposing judgment.
