Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5153: Difficulty Of Curing Evelynn’s Mental Affliction

This was where the true problem lay, since it was there that the mental affliction existed, other than the combined flow of bloodline exuding the thirst for blood and desire for murder in a savage manner. The poison mental affliction hidden within Evelynn’s mind wasn’t simply poisoning thoughts or emotions since it was innate.

It had merged with her instincts due to her blood and soul.

The mental affliction was a part of her existence, so to completely remove it, she must cleanse the Truesoul- or in other words, poison the Truesoul after cleansing the bloodsoul essence vials of its mental affliction.

Whether Davis would allow it or not wasn’t her concern. She arrived at her conclusion and quickly got to work.

Jillian Hayden slowly retrieved a small jade box from her spatial ring.

She had kept the dangerous and poisonous materials that Davis had brought from the Treasury or bought outside from the shops inside the spatial ring.

She opened the box, and inside was a sliver-gray flower with transparent petals and black veins.

It exuded nearly no aura but was actually a Mid-Level Exalt Grade Poison Herb- the Blackvein Soul Dulling Orchid.

It was a poison herb capable of suppressing violent soul fluctuations. Normally, even a tiny amount could temporarily weaken the killing instinct of a Savage Beast or a vicious Magical Beast. More doses would certainly cause the soul to shatter, causing coma or a painful and agonizing death.

She carefully handled it with specific instruments and didn’t use her soul force since it would get poisoned and spread to her own soul, sometimes without her even knowing it.

Then she began grounding it amidst the instinctual cries of the poison herb that nearly caused her to faint, but with Davis protecting her without even having to say, she eventually managed to refine it.

She cast a look at him, barely concealing her smile as their teamwork was nearly impeccable, or rather, he was able to tell what she wanted at the right moment without her even having to say it.

Jillian Hayden- still didn’t know he had Heart Intent, as the rumors she heard about him were lopsided and incomplete, some even exaggerated and completely untrue.

The poor woman continued to work.

Soon, she introduced a mixed poison into the suspended bloodsoul essence that should cause it to show an adverse reaction she expected, which was to increase its bloodthirsty nature. But due to the Chaos Dragon Bloodline, it caused the bloodsoul to encompass the poison and bring it to equilibrium.

She now quickly introduced the Blackvein Soul Dulling Orchid Powder to the bloodsoul essence before the earlier reaction could completely settle down, in order to cure the bloodthirsty nature.

*Bzzz~*

The bloodsoul essence released waves of undulations before it abruptly burst apart!

Davis shielded Jillian Hayden while she also raised her sleeves and erected a barrier to block it.

After noticing the desk had completely turned into a black sludge at the center and the tightly sealed poison vials had been sent flying away, she forcefully smiled and said.

“I should’ve gotten the amount right, so I got the timing wrong. I will succeed next time.”

“Is that so?” Davis finally opened his mouth since he didn’t want to disturb her earlier when she was full of focus, “How close are you to creating this poison that poisons the mental affliction and causes it to be cured?”

“Thirty percent, but this one breakthrough brings it to ninety percent. After that, with a bit of healing herbs, the poisonous concoction with a strong efficacy should be complete. According to my calculations, it should have a fifteen percent success rate in curing the mental affliction; the rest is up to Fairy Evelynn to endure the poison of the Truesoul. Even if she couldn’t endure it, she wouldn’t die but would probably enter a comatose state for a few days. With you here, I doubt anything would happen to her.”

Jillian Hayden said with a faint smile, knowing that he could use life energy to heal.

“Fifteen percent success rate?” Davis still raised his brows, his voice sounding a bit disappointed even though he expected it.

“Indeed.” Jillian Hayden nodded, “That’s what I can come up with in this short time, but I wouldn’t dare say I can double the chances in the next hundred years. Without a suitable ingredient that can counteract this damned Chaos Dragon Bloodline’s influence, I guarantee not even the Poison Saintess Trivera in an era long gone would claim to have more than fifty percent efficacy in curing this ridiculously difficult mental affliction.”

“Alright, you’re the expert in this matter. Whatever you say goes, so I thank you for being honest. However, this cannot be administered now.”

“I will complete it.” Jillian Hayden said firmly, “Whether you allow your wife to take it or not is completely up to the two of you to decide.”

Davis nodded with a light smile, “I believe you, but we have many things to do.”

“…” Jillian Hayden’s firm gaze receded, replaced with some hesitation and curiosity.

She still didn’t know why these terrifying entities were here at all. She didn’t dare ask lest it contain some heavenly secrets. Utmost, she could tell it might’ve had something to do with the Ethereal Lumina Tree. Other than that, she couldn’t tell why they were here.

In the end, she didn’t ask.

She watched him leave before turning to look at Evelynn. She stood up and carefully paced her steps as she made her way towards her.

“Bragging aside, the poison concoction has a very low chance of saving you due to the chaotic nature of the Chaos Dragon Bloodline within you. That’s why it’s fifteen percent on average when it could be forty percent or five percent depending on how your truesoul reacts. I recommend that you do not take it unless you’re confident in being able to endure the bloodsoul poison as it spreads through your truesoul and counteracts the savage and bloodthirsty nature.”

Evelynn raised her head and listened. When Jillian Hayden was done, she nodded lightly, “Thank you. I understand.”

“…” Jillian Hayden pursed her lips and smiled before she turned around, but then stopped and pointed at the left side of the bed.

“Can I rest?”

“Be my guest.”

Evelynn gestured with her eyes, making Jillian Hayden a bit taken aback as she found Evelynn incredibly sexy and… pleasing? It was different from the sinister gaze she revealed when they first met. She had an inkling that this woman might’ve wanted to kill her so badly because she tried to poison Davis, but now, she might’ve forgiven her since she found that less and less of that sinister intent was directed toward her.

What was this change in attitude?

Nonetheless, she was tired after all those attempts and went to take some rest.

Without Davis helping her handle Primarch Grade poisonous materials, she would find it difficult to concoct. After all, this wasn’t a place where she had the necessary utensils and safety formations to handle such poisonous substances at her cultivation base.

Davis left the master room and made his way down the elevator platform.

However, he didn’t go and watch the competition taking place in the manor’s outer courtyard, much less the increasingly growing commotion of the war getting more brutal and increasingly dangerous that it needed more Exalts and Primarchs to join.

Right now, the Bastion Cities were still resisting together as the City Lords didn’t immediately respond to the distress call, including him, but he knew it wouldn’t take long for the summons from the Hexadra Clan and even the Celestial Transcendent to arrive.

Hence, instead of heading to them, he went underground and returned to Fairy Divinacia’s side.

He needed to hasten the process of absorption or just be ready to leave with the energy Fairy Divinacia had collected so far!
