Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4933  One Chance?

Ellia said softly, ”Mother cannot cover for you for so long regarding the cultivation manual and Arcʼs issue, but I will always protect you, even if it means my death. Thatʼs why- you donʼt have to worry.”

”As if-” Mingzhi scoffed, ”Itʼs a crime to influence or brainwash their own sibling into crippling themselves. Even at the lowest, Lydia is seeing an imprisonment of a hundred thousand years.”

”…” Lydiaʼs jaw nearly dropped.

She grabbed Mother Mingzhiʼs skirt, ”Mother, help me. Iʼm secretly the cutest. You cannot possibly imprison me, or Azalea will become the cutest. Then, not only will Azalea win, but Father will also hate you.”

”…” It was Mingzhiʼs turn to be surprised as she looked at her, her jaws nearly opening agape.

Ellia giggled. Lydia was also a member of this family, her tongue quite playful.

”Enough, you two. Thereʼs no punishment for Lydia. Publicly, it was I who convinced Arc to abandon his cultivation and practice astral cultivation. Besides, Arc also managed to discover his potential because of this matter, so we should reward Lydia instead.”

Her voice rose an octave at the end as she eyed Mingzhi to not be playing anymore.

”Anyway, Iʼll also go take a look at how the treatment is coming along.”

Mingzhi flicked her sleeves before she left.

”Ah, whereʼs my reward? At least, the million Peak-Level Transcendent Crystals…!” Lydia reached out her hand, appearing mortified that she wasnʼt paid for selling Arc.

ʼThis kid…ʼ Mingzhi nearly turned to look back and laughed out, but decided not to.

As Davis relayed to her, Lydia does indeed appear to be a part of their family despite her previous life.

However, Lydia really did feel somewhat disappointed. If she could get her hands on a million Peak-Level Transcendent Crystals, then traveling outside wouldnʼt be a problem anymore. It seems like she could only earn it by herself.

Lydia then turned to look back at her mother, her pupils carrying strange emotions.

Her expression looked like she wanted to ask so many things, like why her mother wouldnʼt ask why she influenced Arc to cripple his cultivation base, and many other things. In the end, her lips only quivered to ask these few words.

”Mother, can I still be a part of this family?”

”…”

Ellia blinked before she bit her lips and nodded, ”Mhm~”

”Great! I donʼt have to go to jail~”

Lydia danced as she hid her face, her eyes also turning moist.

Davisʼs hands continued to hover before Natalya, never dropping.

The light and darkness energy still encompassed his palms, slowly breathing into a new kind of existence, a new Law energy as Enigmatic Heart Laws also continually infused into it.

All Davis felt like he needed was a spark, then he could catch it, grasp his Natalya.

By this time, his proficiency in manifesting this new energy had increased a lot, and his comprehension also grew, allowing him to understand why this state of concealment Natalya seemed to be in was one of Twilight Laws.

He had yet to see a reaction from her to his new energy, but he was certain.

Why did the heavens use Twilight Laws instead of Ice-Yin Laws that could theoretically create a mirror world to hide someone?

Davis finally found the answer because if Natalya was in another mirror dimension, then no one would be able to see her, but since they could see her, it meant everyone else here would be in that mirror dimension and unable to see him. However, they could still see him, so he rejected the idea of Ice-Yin Laws being used.

The difference between Ice-Yin Laws and Twilight Laws was also that they overlapped with space.

Ellia blinked before she bit her lips and nodded, ”Mhm~”

Despite both having the powers of inversion, one parted space and the other encompassed space.

Ice-Yin Laws would have created a mirrored shell. It would become a sealed environment, like a separate layer, rather than allowing free movement.

Twilight Laws, however, did not construct space. It distorted the truth of the space, allowing realism to be at jeopardy. It interfered with causality at the perception level, so he was certain that as long as he could even grab a strand of Natalyaʼs hair, he could save her.

But to find even Natalyaʼs hair, he needed another Law. This was where Enigmatic Heart Laws came into play.

If Twilight Laws altered perception and made Natalya disappear from his gaze, then he would use Enigmatic Heart Laws to Will her presence into existence as he did in his soul realm, and make it a reality through this new energy.

The more he engaged with this idea, the more sure he became about it.

If he could impose his acknowledgement upon her existence, if he could declare through Heart Intent that she is real and align that declaration with Light while preventing Darkness from denying it, then perhaps he could drag her from hesitation into affirmation, from absent to present, missing to discovered.

Davis swallowed, feeling thirsty since it took a toll on him to develop this new energy without making it go berserk.

However, he maintained an air of confidence that was arrogance itself.

His expression never wavered once he sat on the bench.

That was declaring his perception superior to whatever had placed her in this state.

But he had no other choice since Natalyaʼs cultivation was sealed.

Her perception was sealed, and she could not fight. She could not circulate energy, much less recognize that she was present. She was trapped in a state of concealment without even knowing, so he was fighting alone and could not waver.

After what seemed like a long time, Davis put his hand down and stood up from the bench, stretching his limbs.

Viridia was still here.

She came forward and rubbed the sweat on his forehead with her handkerchief.

”Mother Natalya is still seated like a log, doing well, although she slept halfway.”

Davis chuckled, ”I saw. Thank you.”

He patted his robe before rubbing his hands as he took a deep breath, ”Natalya will be cured in the next few minutes. Watch and learn.”

”…!” Viridiaʼs eyes brightened as she saw her father declare.

Her spirits rose high, and she nearly wanted to throw himself to her father and hug him, but refrained as she didnʼt want to disturb his focus. He still stretched as though he was going to punch through a mountain.

So she turned to her mother, Iesha, and shared the same excitement.

Davis had indeed paused, knowing he might only have one chance to do this, since if he failed to grasp Natalya, then it would be a clear acknowledgment that he couldnʼt find her. Hence, he renewed himself, stayed still for a few moments as he played a few hundred simulations in his mind where things could possibly go wrong in a few different ways, before going back and sitting in front of Natalya.

Viridia nodded, indicating that Natalya was still seated.

Her nod allowed him to look straight at Natalya as he uttered, ”Only endure for a few more minutes. I, your beloved Deity, am waiting to be honored with your undying love and unbridled faith.”

At this moment, his Heart Intent rose, his soul becoming devoid of any emotion other than being fixated on Natalya. Even if an assassin were to appear at this moment, he would likely ignore it as long as Natalya remained unharmed.
