Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3246 Back To The Sanctuary

3246 Back To The Sanctuary

Davis got out of the spatial vortex as though he was flying backward before turning around and dropping to the ground. Once he felt the familiar heaven and earth energy of the First Haven World, one that wasnʼt repulsed by him, he felt like he was at home, causing him to raise his head and smile.

He saw his people looking at him with relieved smiles as it did take some time for him to appear.

However, he glanced down and saw a few black-robed assassins lying on the ground, beheaded and organs gouged out; some even burned,

ʼSeriously…?ʼ

Davisʼs brows lifted in annoyance.

It was obvious these assassins were from the other three assassination organizations: the Soulsteal Pearl Temple, Oracular Reaver Abode, and the Malevolent Blade Hall. He wondered why these bastards decided to offend his family for no reason before making sure everyone was safe after the transition into the true immortal world.

There were also a few other black-robed individuals who seemed to be from the Ghost Tear Hall, so he merely cast a glance before suppressing his anger.

Nonetheless, looking over, he saw that there were plenty of elders who couldnʼt even stand straight, shivering from head to toe.

Naturally, he saw they feared little Calypsea.

He felt that it was a good thing he decided to send her first, along with Lea, as the ones who were dead were all Mid-Stage Immortal Emperor Assassins. For these assassination organizations to send their elders to assassinate him or his family, he imagined that something truly earth-shattering mustʼve happened while he was gone, or they were simply given an enormous amount of wealth that they couldnʼt resist from wanting to kill themselves from offending him.

”Em-Emperor of Death!”

Someone finally broke the silence, causing Davis to look at a black-

robed man who appeared delighted as though he was receiving his own son after a lifeʼs worth of adventure.

It was none other than Patriarch Yinakin Zyrus.

Davisʼs brows twitched. He imagined that these people waited for a few months, but to Immortal Kings and Immortal Emperors, he guessed that a few months was nothing more than a blink of an eye.

Very few looked at him with smiles, while the majority radiated a hostile or indifferent gaze, but he could see all of them were still shivering in Calypseaʼs presence.

”Thatʼs enough, little Calypsea.”

Calypsea had her eyes squinted, using her aura to pressure them, but once she heard Davisʼs voice, she retracted it. She didnʼt know what the problem was with these people as some attacked her, although she managed to kill them while the others simply stood and watched her with their mouths hanging.

She didnʼt even know the poor assassins thought that she was the Emperor of Deathʼs child since Lea was holding her with care, only to be burned by her apocalyptic flames while the Ghost Tear Hallʼs assassins took care of a few others.

Nonetheless, with Calypsea restraining her aura as she was instructed, Patriarch Yinakin Zyrus strode forward carefully as he cupped his hands.

”Emperor of Death, itʼs good to see you come back in one piece along with all the others. Has the secret realm ended…?” He asked in a probing voice.

The others were also curious, but their eyes abruptly went wide.

”!!!”

However, they suddenly saw the spatial vortex behind the Emperor of Death shrinking.

”What-”

”Whatʼs going on?”

”Why is the spatial vortex closing?”

”…?”

Many Patriarchs and Elders echoed in doubt and fright, causing Davis to also blink as he glanced behind.

The spatial vortex was truly shrinking, causing him to be shocked.

ʼWhat the… the World Master decided to retreat…? So they were only staying there for me…? It canʼt be…ʼ

Davis was full of questions, but he guessed that shouldnʼt be the case as this spatial vortex had been open for a long time, ever since the Zyrus Family found it. However, he speculated that it should have to do with the number of ridiculous tribulations his group pulled, not to mention the divine punishment mustʼve forced the World Master to no longer entertain staying.

This made him also feel good as his own option to retreat was perfect if such an entity decided to retreat.

”Well,” Davis spread his hand, ”Looks like the secret realmʼs adventure is coming to an end.”

”Emperor of Death! Whatʼs going on? Why is there no one who is not in your group who has appeared earlier than you or after you? Why do you have two Celestial Fairies with you and even the Ice Phoenix Clan?”

”Could it be that you-”

The elders tried to imply something, causing Davisʼs eyes to turn cold.

”Everyone~”

However, a white-robed woman stepped forward, cupping her hands, ”I, Cyclonis Blizzara, as the previous Sect Master of the Ice Phoenix Clan, can attest to everyone that the Emperor of Death committed no crimes or willful slaughter. If anyone refuses to believe me, then Iʼm willing to swear to the heavens with my cultivation as collateral.”

*Bzzz!~*

At the end of her speech, Cyclonis Blizzara unleashed her King-Tier undulations, and at the same time, the hearts of the others pounded heavily, especially the Ice Phoenixes present as their eyes glazed over.

”A Queen…”

Everyone present couldnʼt help but move their lips apart as they sensed an incredible prowess from her, one that even the Candidates would be hard-pressed to match.

Davis looked at Cyclonis Blizzara, feeling some warmth, but he shook his head.

”Cyclonis… I did kill some scarlet chickens and cyan rodents…”

”Thatʼs not willful slaughter. Thatʼs revenge.”

Cyclonis Blizzara turned to look at him with a light smile behind her veil, causing Davis to be impressed.

He panned his gaze at the others, not only saw the Fire Phoenix Clan Elders present but also the Cyan Soul Rat Clan Elders. Moreover, many alliances were present, like the Dragon Alliance, Phoenix Alliance, Kirin Alliance, Crimson Sangreal Alliance, Unfettered Skies Alliance, and Rumbling Firmament Alliance.

Other than them, the Flame Seal Alliance, Roaring Wind Alliance, Noble Ice Alliance, Leaping Thunder Alliance, Falling Darkness Alliance, and Starry Light Alliance were all present.

At least one Ancestor-level character from an alliance was present, and perhaps a few Grand Elders and even Patriarchs were present from factions, so to be speaking in front of them this boldly, he imagined that Cyclonis Blizzara wasnʼt doing this to get in his good graces as it could affect her future badly.

”Emperor of Death, please let me deal with this, as you donʼt need to explain yourself to anyone. For the protection you have given us, not to mention the magnanimity of sharing resources as long as we worked hard for it, itʼs our responsibility to make sure no one dares to claim that youʼre wicked and evil in front of us.”

”Thatʼs right. Our intact lives attest to the fact that you looked after our safety.”

Cyclonis Blizzara uttered, causing the others to respond in a similar fashion.

”Then tell me! What happened to my familyʼs prized jewel!? My daughter!”

Roared someone at this moment, garnering everyoneʼs attention.

It was none other than the Lunaris Familyʼs Patriarch,

They couldnʼt help but shoot pitiful glances at him as it was already known that Celestial Fairy Selene Lunaris met her end. It caused a sensation for a few weeks, and followed by Young Master Haizen Rubyshroud also dying, everyone speculated that the Emperor of Death killed him.

After all, when the Emperor of Death was disguised as Mo Tian, it was said that he got into a fight with Haizen Rubyshroud because of Selene Lunaris.

”Thatʼs right. What happened to her? What happened to my son? Why have our youngsters met an end while only a few of you managed to come back alive, the secret realm even closing as though it was all planned?”

Unlike the emotional Patriarch of the Lunaris Family, Asta Rubyshroudʼs aura was calm and solemn, but it could be seen that he was suppressing his anger as much as he could with his fists clenched.

At this moment, Fairy Aila Cherryweave stepped out. Fairy Mei Novara also accompanied her.

Together, they began explaining from the start to the end how the secret realm they entered was not a secret realm but a temporary pathway to the true immortal world, stunning everyone. However, their influence was high enough not to be interrupted, and their voices were melodious enough to put the audience into a trance as they continued to listen.

From being sent to different locations as they fell into a trap from the start and encountering Transcendents who butchered them at the slightest offense and Transcendents who were of some help, they explained everything.

If Lest Mistwalker had been here, Davis knew this grieving bunch wouldʼve skewered him. He felt that it was a good thing he didnʼt bring him back.

But right now, he was distracted with Fallen Heaven as it is available instead of hiding. He wanted to talk with it but was also distracted by Evelynn having noticed his return, making him want to return as soon as possible, but he was stuck here as the monologue from the two beauties had yet to end.

It wasnʼt until Fairy Aila Cherryweave got to the part where they encountered the divine punishment she shut her mouth, no longer daring to talk, as she informed them of their decision to retreat.

Naturally, Fairy Aila Cherryweave didnʼt speak about anyoneʼs personal experience and only gave general knowledge, but even that shocked the crowd into silence for a long time. However, she didnʼt reveal Fairy Selene Lunaris was violated to the crowd; instead, she personally handed over her corpse in the spatial ring to the Lunaris Familyʼs Patriarch before she sent him a soul transmission that made him appear withered, his eyes losing focus.

”…”

Fairy Aila Cherryweave bit her lips, ”Iʼm sorry that I couldnʼt save her, but… we have avenged her.”

”You… you arenʼt controlled by him, are you?”

Patriarch Lunaris tried to grab Fairy Aila Cherryweave, but she was too fast, instantly retreating back two steps as she shook her head with a sad expression behind her veil.

”I know itʼs difficult to believe, but thatʼs what happened.”

”…”

Patriarch Lunaris shuddered before he fell on his knees. He wished that his daughter survived through some miracle like he would hear in some legends, but fate was cruel.

Swiftly, Patriarch Cherryweave also appeared near Fairy Aila Cherryweave.

”Aila, is it true the Emperor of Death saved you from the so-called Thundering Serenity Upper Realmʼs geniuses?”

”Indeed, father.”

Fairy Aila Cherryweave pursed her lips, her eyes gleaming with a determined look, ”He is my savior and also the man I love.”

”…!?”
