Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3200 Surge In Law Comprehension

”Myria…”

Bing Luli pursed her lips, her mind rapidly swirling to bring out some apt advice.

”Why not just share this with him…?”

In the end, she gave up and threw the stick back to Myria, causing the latterʼs expression to freeze.

”Iʼm afraid of the conclusion as you are…”

Myriaʼs expression turned concerned as she looked away.

”What if he says that he had enough…? I want us to wait so that we may be able to deal with calamities better when weʼre stronger, as strong as an Empyrean at the very least. However, if the wait is too long… I donʼt want him to hate me…”

”Never.”

Bing Luli confidently replied, ”Perhaps you are a clumsy woman who is not able to see this, but for the past few years, who has he pursued relentlessly? Itʼs you. Thereʼs no way he could come to hate you if you properly explain things.”

She shook her head, causing Myria to reconsider some matters.

It was easy to think that nothing would happen, but she certainly wasnʼt referring to calamities that are only external. The union of their souls scared her more than she suspected. To have such attraction could mean two things: that the two complement each other or want to devour each other.

She wasnʼt particularly afraid that Davis would harm her, but the fate they were burdened with might inevitably force them to devour each other. Being the most suspicious of the apex treasure, she didnʼt believe that it would sit and watch either. Thatʼs why she couldnʼt say anything to him.

Moreover, she already tried once when she suggested that he abandon the apex treasure and come with her, but he refused, leaving her with no choice but to seal his memories so as to disallow him from making a move to advance things with her but he didnʼt bear his claws nor blame her, making her feel extremely guilty but also inevitably finding herself falling in love with him more and more, so she could only try to drag things out.

After all, once it happened, it would be too late to stop it, and she definitely didnʼt want to be in a situation where they were separated because they couldnʼt touch each other.

That would be too lonely and tragic, which she had enough of.

She didnʼt know if Bing Luli faintly understood this or not, but there were so many risks weighing on her mind that no matter which step she took, she could find herself in a lonely palace, her hands bloodied with the blood of her loved one, the vague memories of her killing her father still haunting her to this day as she didnʼt know what overcame her to commit such atrocity when she loved her father so much, fearing that it would happen again.

”Fine, if you cannot say it, I will be your messenger.”

Bing Luli couldnʼt stand watching her closest friend suffer silently.

”Why…?”

Myriaʼs eyelids trembled, her expression turning confused, ”You also adore him. Why bother about me…?”

Bing Luli couldnʼt help but display a wry smile.

”Myria, when you took me as your disciple, I idolized you. You were everything I hoped for in myself: knowledgeable, responsible, cunning, and almost invulnerable, but recently, you lost your edge with everything, becoming more and more indecisive because of him. However, I donʼt blame you. Iʼm no longer that disciple who wants her master to be infallible. Iʼm your closest friend who wants you to be happy.”

Myria blinked, but Bing Luli continued.

”Ah- donʼt be mistaken. Iʼm not saying you are getting weaker, but you are finally who you are… a woman who needs warmth. Stop being in the cold. I was born in it, and I donʼt recommend staying there for a long time.”

Bing Luli giggled, looking at Myriaʼs lost expression.

”But since you didnʼt seal my memories, you should watch out. I may be your closest friend, but Iʼm also your love rival.”

She patted Myriaʼs shoulder and giggled, causing her to blink again, her gaze full of concern.

”Are you going to- ”

”No.”

Bing Luli turned around, heading out to leave. She reached the door, but before it opened, she turned her head to reveal a lovely smile.

”Perhaps… when he finally sees me… someday.”

”Luli…”

Myria watched Bing Luli. She remained in the cultivation chamber for a few minutes before she took a step forward, wanting to say that she would do it herself, but then, imagining that this could be a chance for Bing Luli to get closer to him, she stopped, pondering for a moment before she returned to cultivate.

Bing Luli went to find Davis, but she sensed that his trail ended in a chamber along with another aura she was slightly familiar with, causing her to blink. She crossed her doubts and imagined that Davis was researching Vereinaʼs physique as he had asked her before, returning to Myria.

However, she considered against reporting now and went to cultivate.

With that, the palace became quiet, and the next day came.

Davis opened his eyes, the sapphire eyes gleaming as though he was an enlightened being, his confidence oozing and soaring through the ceiling.

The pill essence lasted only an hour, but the amount of time he took to comprehend insights was longer.

Consequently, he digested so many insights thanks to the Celestial Luminescence Pillʼs amazing pill essence that also made it easier for him as it withdrew most of his attainment, made his perception skyrocket, and increased his sensitivity to the Laws he specialized in by leaps and bounds, allowing him to have multiple breakthroughs in Law Intents that made his prowess grow stronger.

But before he could recollect how much he grew, he was ready to refine soul essences… with his own death energy.

ʼNow then… Vereinaʼs soul physique is dark-attributed in nature, and with these insights I gained, I blended these insights into the Death Laws I comprehended, possibly allowing me to start refining all kinds of soul essences by myself…”

Davis didnʼt understand how Fallen Heaven could refine soul essences with death energy before, but with the insights he gained in Darkness Laws, he began to understand its essence. After all, Death Laws were said to be a fusion of Darkness Laws and Yin Laws, perhaps with one more Law, which he wasnʼt still sure of, but since it was a Law connected to it, he knew its insights should be quite similar.

He incorporated those insights into his Death Laws and was going to activate it for the first time.

*Bzzzz~*

A familiar undulations awoke Vereina out of her reverie, causing her to blink as she felt like she was looking at herself.

Behind Davis, there was the manifestation of three vague heads.

Rather than hydras or any other magical beasts for that matter, there were three human heads, all looking similar to him, but she shuddered lightly as she sensed the deathly aura pouring out from them before they swiftly disappeared.

After some time, Davis opened his eyes again, a faint smirk remaining on his lips.

”Vereina, itʼs a success as I was able to absorb ninety percent from a Feral Beastʼs soul essence at the same prowess as me. Thank you for your time.”

Davis reached out his hand, patting Vereina on the side of her arm, which left her a bit dumbfounded.

Hadnʼt he comprehended from her? How the heck does he have a ninety percent efficiency rate while she only had thirty to forty percent, perhaps slightly improved after receiving more insights into her physique through absorbing the Celestial Luminescence Pillʼs essence?
