Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3208 Crossing The Chasm

Davis couldnʼt help but chuckle as he knew what Myria was talking about.

If his Apocalyptic Flame Essence, which had transformed into a spirit, decided to go on a rampage and interfere with the realm concoction by absorbing the apocalyptic flames that were going to be used to heat the cauldron and concoct the pill, then the consequences would be severe. This could be the case if she even so much as caused the concocting flame to waver slightly.

Nonetheless, they didnʼt truly know what the realm concoction would be like, so they could only make assumptions.

With Davis at the forefront, everyone took a step onto the bridge.

The moment Davis took a step, he could feel a steady vibration beneath his feat.

It wasnʼt only him. When the others also set foot on the bridge, they all felt the same as Davis, allowing them to feel a strange force that coursed through this surreal landscape. The sensation was both disconcerting and exhilarating as if they were walking on the pulse of the very world itself.

Looking down from the bridge, they could see the endless abyss beneath them, the depths of which were shrouded in heat. It was impossible to discern whether these islands truly floated or were anchored to something hidden below, but the presence of the massive chains suggested that they were, in fact, suspended in the void.

The islands themselves were a marvel to behold.

After hovering past hundreds of kilometers, they already crossed a few islands.

Some were lush with vegetation and teeming with wildlife, while others appeared barren and desolate, their surfaces scarred by the passage of time. It was a juxtaposition of life and decay, but it was unknown whether they were illusions or real as they appeared quite fantastical considering that the realm was going to end.

”Perhaps… this realm was once like this, teeming with even more life…”

Tina uttered.

Her words made everyone nod as the lifeforms they had seen were very few, only able to place their eyes on Feral Beasts and not unique lifeforms. Even naturally occurring Spirit Attribute Sources were extremely rare considering the vastness of the realm, which meant they were all taken away before the realm was sealed and ridiculous pill competition began.

This also meant the resources that were here were deemed unwanted by the Astral Pill Upper Realm and the Forgeheart Peak Upper Realm, causing Davis and the others to feel a bit exasperated, wondering how deep their coffers ran.

They couldnʼt even imagine the depths of their wealth.

With their rich history, not to mention heritage and millions of inheritances, he knew there was no comparing to the likes of the powers of the First Haven World. Perhaps even the fabled World Master of the First Haven World, who appeared to be infallible in Davis and Myriaʼs eyes, couldnʼt put a dent into their extravagant wealth or fortified defenses.

After all, they both knew standing at the helm of the Astral Pill and Forgeheart Peak Upper Realms were also infallible existences whose names or titles couldnʼt be lightly said.

Nonetheless, they continued to head further.

The bridge stretched out into the heart of the central region, disappearing into the distance where the true epicenter of this surreal landscape lay.

Even while hovering above the bridge and sightseeing, not even a single one of them let their guard down. Just because they were following Davis, they werenʼt complacent as they knew they could die here, so they were extremely cautious, their energies circulating at all times, ready to burst out over the slightest change in the air around them.

So far, they were met with nothing other than these islands interconnected by the titanic chains. If anything, the space was so vast and full of invisible pressure that they might feel lonely and anxious if they were not in a group. Behind them was a crimson world, but in front of them were clear skies, the difference making them shudder ever so lightly every now and then as they felt as though the crimson skies could overtake them anytime.

Amidst the skies that were increasingly becoming harder to see as mist covered the region, they could gradually see two bridges converging towards different points where it connected to a bridge that didnʼt go straight but ran in a circle, connecting all the other bridges. It appeared like a waypoint to be able to access all the other bridges, making some frown, some excited.

”Aha! We successfully crossed the outer circle.”

”Phew~ Here I thought I was going to be a beastʼs meat. Turns out that-”

Suddenly, they all became silent as they saw a misty cloud move to their left.

An eye peaked out.

It wasnʼt just an eye. It was big, as big as a battleship, as it gazed at them from a distance with its serpent pupils.

It made everyone freeze in terror, its very presence making them feel death has approached them.

Davis also smiled, but his smile wasnʼt carefree but crazy, knowing that this beast could probably kill him in a single move, perhaps even blow him away with a breath. However, everyone knew that.

Everyone knew what kind of beings were guarding this place. Existences at the Peak-Level Immortal Emperor Beast Stage that was near to the Empyrean Beast Stage more than anyone else in the realm, prisoners who have been left to receive the challenges from the heavenly geniuses before they die with the realm, executed by apocalyptic flames.

*Aooo!~*

A furious, draconic roar abruptly resounded towards their right, causing every heart to skip a beat again, fear almost causing them to turn around and flee. With the shockwaves from the furious cry, the mist plaguing the skies was cleared on both sides.

To their left was a five-kilometer-long serpent with strange serpent eyes, its giant body covered in purplish-black scales, running all the way to its tail, which became jade-golden. Its snake tongue lashed out, heading towards them.

*Bzzz!~*

But simultaneously, a crimson-purple-robed figure clad in lightning and flames shot towards the bridge they were in. It was like a meteor, flaming and thundering while unleashing shockwaves as it headed towards them.

*Sss!~*

The snake tongue that was actually heading towards them shifted in direction and headed towards that figure clad in flames and lightning.

*Booom!~*

However, that energized meteor of lightning and flames suddenly changed their direction mid-flight with a burst of explosive crimson flames erupting from their legs, causing them to crash into the bridge near them. This sudden entrance came at the cost of causing dust to spread as the bridge was covered all over by sand in this area.

”Sss~ Who is this lady? To grab a heavenly resource from the jaws of a dragon such as yourself, sheʼs not bad… especially while having the blood of a lowly mixed-blood kirin… sheʼs not bad…”

The serpent hissed and spoke as its giant snakehead smiled, its serpent eyes fully focused on the dust screen.

It caused the others to return their gaze to the silhouette that fell on the bridge a few hundred meters away from them. The dust gradually settled, and what came into their view was a woman who was still on all fours, her hair in disarray, her clothes slightly torn and bloodied.

”Fairy Thunderblaze, fancy seeing you here…”

Davisʼs lips parted as he waved his hand. Even before he got to see her face, he had already noticed her undulations, which he was already quite familiar with as he brushed past it a few times.

”…”

Fairy Thunderblaze shuddered ever so lightly as she inclined her head and saw him. Her expression did not change. Instead, she stood up and turned to look around, gazing at the blue-scaled dragon that gazed at her with its two humongous pair of eyes from the right side of the bridge.
