Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3222 Phantom Gaze Cobraʼs Lucky Day?

Davis felt that he needed a force to reckon with when it was time for him to finally leave this place since he guessed that there would be numerous blockades no different than life and death threats barring his path, but who were the people he was dealing with here?

They were Peak-Level Immortal Emperor Magical Beasts with prowess near the Empyrean Stage and had countless crimes posted on their heads and made to be prisoners here, so for him to recruit them without restrictions already placed on them would be no different than suicide.

Even if not for their crimes, it was unknown if they had a sincere nature other than the rabbit, so they could take advantage of him anytime if the situation calls for it.

Even the Variant Dark Dragon was smart enough to take advantage of the confusion his Calypsea had, although she was smart enough to see through it despite only being recently born, but who was to say that they wouldnʼt look for a chance to take advantage again?

Regardless, he knew he must proceed carefully from now on as the time to concoct the realm pill was nearing.

ʼHmm? The Empyreal Monarchs made a move, you say?ʼ

Nadiaʼs doppelganger was inside his soul sea, informing him that they started to attack them. However, Davis didnʼt appear worried. He didnʼt even feel like sending Eldia towards them, turning to look at the Phantom Gaze Cobra that seemed to be a bit hopeful.

It wasnʼt like he didnʼt understand its thoughts.

Even if Nadia, the ʼseniorʼ wasnʼt here, the Apocalyptic Flame Spirit, Calypsea, could still break him out of the chains, at least removing a bit of suppression cast on it and the restriction that locked it to this sector, allowing it to go anywhere and possibly leave the realm when the sealing on the realm is undone.

”How come you donʼt know a way to the Nether Dimension? Didnʼt your father imbue any memories about that?”

It seemed like Immortal Emperor Beasts and above could imbue memories in their seeds and mothers capable of the same during their pregnancy, although it was just a rumor in the plundered memories, but he guessed that there was some truth to it.

Still, Davis couldnʼt understand. If the Phantom Gaze Cobraʼs father imbued memories of its origin, why not also show it the way?

”No. There are only some memories of the landscape and the myriad of clans living in it as though pointing to the wonder of my true home. Perhaps itʼs a trial by right my father placed for me to find the Nether Dimension by myself because my strength might be unacceptable.”

”Youʼre already a Peak-Level Immortal Emperor Magical Beast, and youʼre saying you havenʼt passed the trial yet? Is your father- a Nether Orb Cobra from a clan full of Empyrean Beasts?”

Davisʼs brows almost twitched as he wanted to ask if it was higher, but then he didnʼt go too far with his imagination.

”I… I donʼt know.” The Phantom Gaze Cobraʼs voice was low, no longer sarcastic or amused, as it lowered its head, ”Perhaps itʼs because Iʼm mixed…”

”…”

Davis forgot that racism was more prevalent here than in the First Haven World or the other worlds because there was no semblance of peace yet, only chaos and war. Mixed magical beasts or feys wouldnʼt be easily accepted or acknowledged unless theyʼre truly strong enough to carve through any blockade.

Moreover, this Phantom Gaze Cobra seemed to have been locked up for five hundred thousand years, that is, over half a million years, in other words, purely allowed to live because of its special nether poison that could be extracted and made profit out of.

The fact that it was here could only mean that its poison was extracted until its vitality could no longer sustain itself, not to mention its poison sac was removed, and then it got sold off to the Upper Realm hosts to this event to make a bigger buck.

Just by sensing its not-so-good vitality, he could infer so much along with the information gained by Nadia if it was true.

The Phantom Gaze Cobra in front of him was truly pitiful.

”Seems like there is no benefit of talking to you. What else can you give me for your freedom?”

However, Davis was even more ruthless, indirectly implying something that made the Phantom Gaze Cobra shudder.

”You want me to give my life to you?”

”How is your freedom for your life a fair exchange? Have you become stupid from having your venom extracted so much?”

”…”

The Phantom Gaze Cobra trembled that if its skin wasnʼt so thick and covered in scales, then even blush might have appeared.

”Then-” It probed.

”Sigh, I donʼt want to restrict your freedom, but I want you to convince the other magical beast prisoners for me and become subordinated to me for a few hundred years. Declining is also good. Spitting venom at me is also good, but you should be aware of the consequences since I would be holding your life for those few hundred years.”

The Phantom Gaze Cobra blinked.

Just… just a hundred years of subordination or slavery since he has their lives?

It instantly wanted to make a deal, but the other party was an Anarchic Divergent. Even if it had ten lives, even ten years would be enough to spend all of it.

”I canʼt leave this sector without having the chains broken.”

”Iʼm well aware.”

It replied, causing Davis to respond before he gestured at the little flame spirit.

”Calypsea, can you incinerate those chains anchored to this island?”

Calypsea blinked, looking towards the place where Davis gestured. She took a few moments to understand before Davis repeated his words again, causing her to nod.

”I can~”

She didnʼt say anymore and flew towards the chain anchored underneath the main treasure island. She swiftly appeared before it, stepping onto the metal chain that seemed to have peculiar properties since it appeared to expand and contract based on which side it was being pulled so the prisoners were optimally contained within the sector.

Nonetheless, both Davis and the Phantom Gaze Cobra saw purplish-black flames emerge from Calypseaʼs body like they were wings.

Davis smiled, ”As a show of sincerity, Iʼll release you first. Feel free to betray me as Iʼm not hoping anything from-”

*Szzzz!~*

Abruptly, purplish-black flames soared into the air, the intense heat causing them to back off.

”…!”

However, they were visibly shocked as they could see the metal that Calypsea stood on turn bright reddish-black, already starting to melt.

”What kind of destructiveness is this…?”

The Phantom Gaze Cobra shuddered as it finally sensed Calypseaʼs true prowess, while even Davis had no chill as his eyes were wide, knowing that he underestimated the prowess of this adorable little spirit that he grew fond of.

”Sheʼs just two- no, one and a half levels away from reaching the Empyrean Stage in prowess…”

Davis uttered as his gaze shook. He had been ignorant about the gap between the Immortal Emperor Stage and Empyrean Stage until he plundered the memories of the heavenly geniuses, coming to know that there was a gap of six or seven levels in between instead of the usual four in the first three stages of the Immortal Realm.

Therefore, Calypsea, who was at the Level Six Immortal Emperor Stage and had a prowess of eight levels, could start melting the chains that even sealed Peak-Immortal Emperor existences that had a prowess of four levels higher than the prisoners.

She trounced them by and large, leaving Davis floored as well as excited as he imagined that magical beast prisoner wasnʼt comparable to her in prowess even if all the seals on them were released!
