Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3226 Enveloped

”Dammit! How did you escape!?”

Roared the Variant Dark Dragon from the distance. It was enjoying the battle and was even shocked by the prowess of the beauties that it looked down upon displayed but in the end, it was absolutely dumbfounded by the Phantom Gaze Cobra that seemed to have broken from its chains and even appeared inside the bridge that actively kept them out.

It felt like it was punched in the gut, rage, and jealousy mixing in its heart as it screamed out.

But despite its furious cry, Davis didnʼt turn to look at it. Instead, he still stared at Ralaza Heavenshade, a shade of disappointment reveling in his expression.

”Out of all the actions you couldʼve taken, you went after my people, didnʼt you?”

”No- I…”

Ralaza Heavenshade shook her head, but she saw a crimson-white-robed woman appear beside Davis, her blonde hair beautifully adorning her shoulder, making her look quite homely.

”She didnʼt. She tried to speak out against attacking us, but the words of the strong prevail.”

Davis looked at Sophie, who vouched for Ralaza Heavenshade.

”So youʼre saying that sheʼs weak.” He put words into her mouth.

”…”

Sophie went speechless before smiling with a pout as she grasped his sleeve.

”Anyway, we took care of the problem. The rest, you can deal with it, right?”

”Myria needs some rest as she expended a lot of soul force and willpower to deal with these Monarchs.”

She leaned towards him, grasping his free hand as she sent him a soul transmission, further looking at him with wide, mesmerizing purple eyes as though demanding him to take advantage of this opportunity right… now! The content made him a bit worried, but he smiled at her antics.

”Of course I will, Sophie.”

Davis leaned and placed a kiss on her lips as a breeze lifted her veil, causing Sophie to be dumbfounded. Her cheeks went beet red, unable to believe he kissed her in front of so many people, but eventually, that disbelief turned into pride and happiness.

”…”

The little Calypsea looked at this strange action with a tilted head, wondering what it could mean.

Davis returned his gaze to the Phantom Gaze Cobra, who was now able to take his human form because the chains were no longer binding him, although the sealing runes etched on his body were still visible even in his human form.

The rune on his forehead was particularly striking as his soul seemed to be still under a seal that could kill him anytime it wanted, but who was going to activate it?

It didnʼt seem to be placed under a condition other than not to kill themselves, which was ironic considering that they wanted to escape now.

But with all things considered, he wondered if the Phantom Gaze Cobra would still keep his word.

”Ah, benefactor.” The Phantom Gaze Cobra smilingly rubbed his purple hair, his facial features appearing rather graceful than cunning, ”Thereʼs no need to stare at me that vividly. I would keep my promise and convince all the other prisoners to join you. If they wouldnʼt, Iʼll kill them-”

”Donʼt. If they donʼt want to join, then you can leave them to die here.”

Davis wanted to avoid any sort of karmic burden or twists in fate while on this expedition. For the same reason, he was sure Myria expended so much effort to capture these transcendents and not kill them.

”Understood.”

The Phantom Gaze Cobra nodded before he turned to look at the Variant Dark Dragon, his gaze gleaming.

”Iʼll leave you for the last.”

”You-!”

The Variant Dark Dragon was stumped. It wanted to shout for the Phantom Gaze Cobra to start from it, but its pride didnʼt let it, even though it understood that it could potentially die. It looked at Davis and saw that he completely ignored it, knowing that it had inevitably offended him, so it didnʼt bother to voice out its opinion anymore, retreating to the mist while feeling regret.

The Phantom Gaze Cobra jumped off the bridge and transformed into a giant cobra, slithering away into the distance.

It was mesmerizing to watch. Regardless, Davis turned around to look at Rath Heavenshade.

”If you or anyone else wants the captives back, obediently hand over some goods in exchange. It should be of equal value; any lower and I will inflict boundless pain on the person youʼre trying to bring back.”

”What? If itʼs their spatial rings, you already have them.” Someone from the Moonsmile Family shouted.

He was the sole survivor out of the five people from his group and the other Empyreal Monarch of the Moonsmile Family.

”Not enough.” Davis coldly replied, ”Their spatial rings are our prize for crushing them, so their lives, which would be severed for their heavy transgressions, are all now in your hands. If you want to save them, bring resources of equivalent value. If you want to let them die because of competition, thatʼs fine as well. Choose carefully.”

Many expressions changed the moment the Emperor of Death uttered the last sentence.

The Anarchic Divergent was giving them a way out, so if they refused to take that option and returned back, they would be punished even if they tried to find some excuses. Only taking back the realm pill would be their only saving grace, but with their alchemists and forgemasters held captive, they would have no choice but to buy them back!

On the other hand, Rath Heavenshadeʼs lips twitched. Naturally, he didnʼt need to worry about his people as no one was caught.

However, he saw how Davis didnʼt even place attacking him as one of the options, never having seen a person more arrogant than himself.

They could only remain silent and watch him return to his people, their hearts furious but had no way to vent out, although some felt like they had escaped death since he hadnʼt sent that realm-ending little girl at them.

Davis flew towards Myria, looking at slightly dark bags underneath her beautiful eyes, his heart souring for her.

He knew for an illusion technique to work, there must be a point of contact. It could be with any one of the senses, touch, vision, or the other three senses, so on top of cultivation, the willpower of the user greatly mattered for their opponents to be pulled into a dreamscape built upon fooling their senses.

Thatʼs why Myria exhausted her willpower in addition to her soul force since there were so many dreamscapes she had to maintain while enduring all those Wills, which was a tremendous thing to do.

Appearing before her, he saw her gazing at him.

If he hadnʼt remembered her cry, he wouldʼve praised that it was as expected, but now he knew above anything else that the suffering she had gone through was a testament to her extraordinary Will.

”Now that youʼre here, Iʼll also leave the rest to you.” She uttered, causing him to nod.

She turned around, wanting to go rest, but suddenly, she felt herself inclining more than she needed to, causing her to fall to the side. However, a shoulder was there to stop her from falling, causing her to blink before she raised her head to look at him, her expression tinged with blush behind her veil.

She couldnʼt believe that she relaxed heavily upon being in close proximity to him, which meant even an enemy couldʼve easily killed her at that moment.

”Having a shoulder to rely on is a lucky feeling, isnʼt it?”

However, Bing Luliʼs voice flowed out at this moment, causing Myria to stand straight.

”Thank you~”

She uttered, trying to walk away, but her wrist was caught and was even pulled ever so lightly. Before she knew it, she was in his embrace, her expression filled with disbelief.

”Donʼt worry. Rely on me all you want while I heal you.”

Davis sneaked in a kiss on her forehead ever so lightly, his thumb finger pressed on the same place the next second as he began to heal her. A sense of immense warmth emanated inside Myriaʼs soul sea as though she belonged here, but at the same time, it also made her feel like she couldnʼt feel this happy or something could go wrong.

But despite the heavy feeling weighing on her heart, the warmth was more, causing her to lower her head.

”Mhm~”

She began using her own life energy as well, working in tandem to recover her battered willpower and alleviate her exhaustion with half the effort, becoming able to focus with how secure she felt.

On the other hand, everyone could feel love in the air, causing them to smile deeply as they knew this was it. This was the moment that Myria, that all-knowing, prideful, and unattainable Divine Saintess, conclusively told him with her actions that she loved him.
