Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3201 Birth Of An Evil Technique?

”Besides…”

Davis continued, taking his hand away from Vereina as he abruptly stared at her.

Three pitch-black heads appeared in the air again, inducing a deathly air. They revolved around Vereinaʼs head, appearing to scream at her as their mouths were wide open, although there was no sound, much less a voice.

”…!”

Vereina felt a tug in her soul, her heart skipping a beat. Her body suddenly grew feverish, her limbs going limp as though she was floating even though she was seated cross-legged. Her vision turned blurry, the presence of Davis vanishing from her vision, replaced with a hazy smile that appeared wickedly evil.

*Gasp!~*

She suddenly came out of the state of weakness she had abruptly experienced, looking at Davis with shock and fear in her eyes.

”You… what did you-”

”Sorry. I couldnʼt help myself.”

Davis raised his hands in surrender, ”I wanted to see if this technique could rob souls even if a person was alive, and even your Violent Punitive Soul Physique, which should have significant resistance against such a pull, was easily tugged by my technique…”

”…”

Vereina gawked at him, her expression full of anger as she glared at him. She raised her hand, wanting to punch him, as her fists trembled.

”Go ahead.”

Davis uttered with an apologetic smile, causing Vereina to tremble heavily. Her bosoms heaved as though she couldnʼt stop herself from punching him, appearing so angry, but eventually, she dropped her hand and looked away.

”Why did you do that? I believed you…”

Davisʼs smile faded, replaced with a solemn expression, ”As a token of gratitude, I want to teach you this technique.”

”…?”

”Whatʼs more useful than learning it through your own body?”

Davis raised his brows, causing Vereinaʼs brows to twitch.

She could understand why he would do it, but still, she felt that he was bullying her as she could do nothing to berate him.

”Itʼs fine if you donʼt want to learn.”

Davis stood up, appearing to leave, ”I will-”

”Teach me…”

However, Vereina quickly responded, her head lowered, ”I… I donʼt want to eat souls using such a gruesome method anymore…”

Davis blinked. He remembered how she ripped the soul essence with her mouth like a feral beast. That was certainly grotesque to look at, and a lady like her wouldnʼt want to be seen that way. Even if his technique appeared evil, he could agree that it was a better alternative.

”Well, this technique isnʼt refined yet, so Iʼll teach you the foundation. The rest is up to you to comprehend using your own soul physique and Darkness Laws so that you could manifest your soul physique outside to forcefully absorb soul essences, even causing cultivators to black out during battles.”

”…”

Vereinaʼs gaze shook. The implications of this technique were too great. It was better or even better than using illusions to trap a person as this would not use much energy or allow each other to engage in a battle of Will if it was just tugging on the soul.

Indeed, Davis also felt the same as Vereina, knowing that he could even perfect this technique further as long as he had enough time, allowing it to rob and refine soul essences with more efficiency and deadliness, although he felt that it wouldnʼt compare to Fallen Heavenʼs refinement that was almost hundred percent.

Regardless, he finally felt a sense of liberation as even if Fallen Heaven was taken away from him at some point and he somehow managed to survive, he wouldnʼt lose his means of quick growth.

”I will use this technique on you again before I teach you, so look closely and sense the surroundings.”

Vereina bit her lips before she nodded, her eyes shining with determination, no longer caring even if he just pulled her soul out as she was completely at his mercy.

A few hours later, Davis and Vereina exited the room.

Vereinaʼs eyes were swollen as she had bags underneath. She looked a bit pale, like a zombie, appearing extremely exhausted. She took a step forward to move as she wanted to leave but suddenly tripped, her eyes widening as she fell to the side.

Davis received her almost as naturally as she fell, holding her before he turned to look at her.

”Donʼt push yourself. You did well to endure the tugging of the soul multiple times, having the bravery to experience it with your own soul, so go take some rest.”

”I…”

Vereina struggled to voice out, ”I am fine…”

She used him as leverage and pushed herself out of his embrace, turning around and walking away. However, she stopped and turned to look at him.

”Thank you. I hope you will consider sharing the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm Empyreal Monarchʼs soul with me.”

She smiled, turning around and walking away.

”I still havenʼt given up on it… so I will try to do my best, whether it be finding a hidden treasure of equivalent or greater value…”

Davis watched her leave, raising his hand and rubbing his chin a bit in contemplation, wondering if he should really hand over those soul essences that he hadnʼt extracted from the King-Tier Six-Headed Hydra Feys yet. Those Empyreal Monarchs were tortured by him day in and day out, keeping them alive with the others.

He decided to trade most of them, but for the evildoers, he was still waiting to see, as he didnʼt want to skew the bubble of fate so severely. Otherwise, he wouldʼve extracted their souls by now.

After she left, Davis turned to look at the empty space where Nadia manifested before him, her beautiful visage having his heart skip a beat.

”Master, I killed the Fire Phoenix Clanʼs and Cyan Soul Rat Clanʼs disciples in that shelter and escaped before I could get caught.”

”Oh? Wonderful.”

This news put a smile on Davis, but he amusedly tilted his head, ”What do you mean by caught?”

”Well, there was a powerful cultivator there among the immortals of the First Haven World. After I killed those puny immortals who dared to harm Shirley and left, that man made a move, pulling me into the depths of the subconscious realm that my instincts screamed that I shouldnʼt fight with him, so I decisively dispersed the doppelganger.”

Davisʼs gaze flickered as his smile left, ”That sounds quite dangerous. What do you think of this man? What are his features?”

Nadia raised her hand, death energy flowing out like a beautiful flow of water as they formed and shaped into man. Despite the deathly black, one could make out the features of the man very well.

”This man wore a black robe and had purple hair. During the time I scouted the shelter, Iʼd seen him mingling with the Tyriels, so I knew he belonged to the part of the alliance created by the factions in the Northern Divide of the First Haven World, a heavenly genius from the Lanfric Family.”

”Oh…?”

Davis raised his brows.

The Northern Divide was a battlefield, but it wasnʼt like there were no powers there. For one, The Godwin Family that was destroyed had been there. Rea Tyriel, who was from the Tyriel Family, was also from there. Not including these two, there were also the Alistair Family, Lanfric Family, Avadrine Family, and Emberfall Family, all of them decisive and powerful individuals who garnered his attention when he had just left for this secret realm.

”Lanfric Family, you say? If I remember correctly, they use Darkness Laws, donʼt they?”

”Yes~”

Nadia answered with all seriousness, causing Davis to blink in surprise.

”How do you know all this, Nadia?”

His cute, tiny glutton was now a pro in information gathering…?

”I scouted the shelter for two days, identifying every single person who was alive since I had nothing to do with my doppelganger, hoping that it could be of use to you, Master.”

Nadia subconsciously revealed a smile. She stood in attention like a subordinate reporting to him, but if there was a tail behind her like she was a fey, then he knew that it would be waving in happiness right now, causing him to chuckle before he raised his hand and rubbed her head, making her low-key purr in delight.

”And when did he attack you?”

”It was after the entire shelter started leaving for the center where the realm concoction is said to happen, right after I killed those chickens and rats who also tried to leave…”

Davis raised his brows. With the shelter moving places, that would mean the realmʼs collapse is very near. Nonetheless, he couldnʼt help but reveal a prideful smile.

”Good work, Nadia. Iʼm so proud of you because you likely escaped from Accursed Warlock or Vile Enchanter Kieran Hartley.”

”…?”

Nadiaʼs smiling expression froze.
