Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3218 Evaluating Worth

However, the rabbit stopped, beginning to tremble. Its tremble only grew in magnitude as it seemed to want to stab itself but couldnʼt, no matter what.

”Whatʼs wrong? Do you value your life at this point?”

Davisʼs mocking voice resounded, causing the Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit to shudder in shame.

”No… I…. The seal on my forehead… is disallowing me to commit suicide…”

”No need for excuses. Ultimately, youʼre also an existence who miserably clings to life.”

”No… please wait…!”

The Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit struggled so hard to kill itself that Davis couldnʼt help but insult it, his expression turning into one of anger.

”Enough!” He waved his hand, ”I donʼt need your flesh or bones, so stop this foolishness.”

”…!?”

The rabbit became stunned. Its finger claw that was pining to stab her forehead no longer moved, its struggles dying down.

”Your time is limited. Whether it be eating some delicious meat of the heavenly geniuses or watching them grow stronger as they rob heavenly resources under your nose, make use of the time properly and go in peace. As for our deal, itʼs like I said before. If I have the luxury to spare time, I will save your Empress. If not, she will rot in whatever place she is in, whether it be the cold palace or a graveyard.”

”…”

The Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit was stupefied. It could only watch him berate it in silence before he turned around and left, no longer appearing to be bothered with it.

”Wait…! My soul… you need a bit of my soul essence to open the treasury.”

It bit its large tongue to gain more painful clarity and used a bit of its soul essence, making its red eyes more bloodshot. It took even more effort than to burn its soul essence as it was essentially severing a part of it, but because of the restrictions, it was made harder, so it had to burn a bit of its soul essence before that, the ignition making it easier for it to cut off some of her essence.

Immense pain swelled all over her body as she felt like thousands of needles were stabbed into her.

Regardless, she managed to gather within her magical beast core before sending out a minute amount of soul essence that shot toward him.

Davis was already leaving, but a bluish-black soul essence wisp appeared beside him, appearing to be confused as it swayed left and right. He knew this tiny soul essence bit was experiencing extraordinary pain right now, but he didnʼt pay much attention to it other than storing it in a soul vial and throwing it into his life ring.

He could keep it in his soul sea, but with the other party alive, she could cause some serious damage to him. However-

ʼThis rabbit is crazy… if she gives her soul essence to me like this… it makes her absolutely vulnerable to karmic attacks which would put her life and death underneath my thumb…ʼ

Davis thought, but he heard its voice again.

”Also, take all the treasures in this area. I will guard you and even hamper those young geniuses trying to kill you!”

”…”

Davis flew faster.

She had utterly stuck to her words now and was fully invested in protecting him even while having no way to tell if he would truly protect its Empress or not.

ʼDesperate people end up relying on desperate measures…ʼ

He inwardly sighed.

However, Davis didnʼt want its treasures in this sector.

He set his sights on the main treasure in each sector. He already decided those extremely valuable treasures belonged to him, so he was thinking of going around, plundering every single one of those treasures for himself while leaving the dragonʼs sector for the last. If not, they might be taken away by the Upper Realms since he believed the young geniuses realized the only way to get these treasures despite their lack of strength to go toe to toe with the prisoners was to sacrifice others.

When the magical beast prisoner was distracted by someone else, that was the time to plunder.

With that being the case, he understood why the death toll began to increase as some people began to take advantage of others. Back when he left the dragon sector, he comprehended that he was also being taken advantage of, but he didnʼt care as he didnʼt think he would get caught with him throttling his fastest fleeing speed and fastest movement speed to ever be utilized.

But at this moment, he closed his eyes and began taking a deep breath.

The surrounding heaven and earth energy flowed towards him under his pull. However, the moment they came closer, inches away from his pores, they displayed severe rejection as though they did not want to become a part of him.

”…!”

Davisʼs eyes opened as his Heart Intent extended a few meters away from him.

The heaven and earth energy that was extremely reluctant shuddered, feeling a sense of unity with him, even heading into his pores by themselves as they wished to become a part of him. He extended his radius inch by inch, and the surrounding heaven and earth energy poured into him like a wave to a tsunami!

It must be known that his Heart Intent could extend ten thousand meters even in this layer.

So all the heaven and earth energy in this layer began pouring into his body, revving up his essence energy as his lower dantian began to refine them in order to increase his essence energy and even the other energies.

Whatʼs more, it was even faster than how he would normally absorb heaven and earth energy.

ʼDamn… not only does the heaven and earth energy appear to want to become mine through imposing my Will with Heart Intentʼs manipulation, but the rate of absorption is also crazy…ʼ

Davis discovered the rate of absorption was higher than absorbing Immortal Crystals, even in an Absorption Formation. It made him thoroughly dumbfounded, wondering why he hadnʼt discovered this until now.

ʼThe Heart Intent affects all things with or without Will…ʼ

He finally learned, even feeling his insights into Enigmatic Heart Laws increase, albeit slightly.

However, the higher the radius of absorption, the more his soul force was being consumed.

Davis knew this was not optimal.

In just a minute, he restored his essence energy from seventy percent to ninety percent but had his soul force reduced from ninety-nine percent to seventy-five percent, which was a massive decrease in soul force but an insane increase in essence energy.

He figured the denser the heaven and earth energy, the faster his energy would return, although there was also the refinement speed of his dantians.

Either way, Davis was overjoyed.

”Nadia, whatʼs the status quo?”

Nonetheless, Davis quickly asked through his Transitory Beast Taming Pact.

With Myria there, his women did things without asking him, worrying him a lot, not that he didnʼt appreciate their willingness to do so for their own betterment and the betterment of the family. This also told him they believed Myria a lot, which made him quite content.

”Master, we encountered people from the Rising Human Lower Realm, also known as the Abandoned Immortal Lower Realm. Also, with the treasure hunt, no one bothered with us, so we used this time to bring back the Apocalyptic Flame Spirit. Sheʼs here with us~”

”What?”

Davisʼs shocked voice echoed across their connection as he gawked.

Did he hear right? They went to get the Apocalyptic Flame Spirit and even brought it back?

Considering its prowess and cultivation level that shouldʼve increased after it went on munching apocalyptic flames in the wilderness, did they really have to do that?

Thatʼs why he also didnʼt head in the Apocalyptic Flame Spiritʼs direction, intending to catch up with it later because he knew that it would be invincible in this place, its intent unknown.

The rabbit still hadnʼt left its location, a forlorn light lingering on its red eyes that seemed to have been cleared of rage and replaced with contentment. However, it saw a burst of flames and wind shooting in the opposite direction, causing it to blink.
