Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3232 The Twelve Prisoners

During the daylight robbery above the southern bridge, the atmosphere was quite silent.

Many didnʼt dare to speak out loud, afraid that they would gather attention from the Emperor of Death or even the bloodthirsty, wicked prisoners who could reap their lives on a mere whim. They certainly seemed like a wild bunch who didnʼt know how to follow orders, so despite staying calm, they were on the edge most of the time, afraid that their lives could be reaped before they could even realize it.

But as time passed, more and more Monarchs left the area alive after giving tribute or retrieving their fellow disciples, giving them more confidence and making them think this Anarchic Divergent was somewhat reasonable despite being a true Bandit Emperor of Emperors as they rarely ever seen a heist of this level done by a Sovereign-level character.

An entire hour later, the Monarchs were finally gone, including the captives, leaving him with the prisoners who looked into the distance with a forlorn look as though they didnʼt have their fill.

During this time, Davis was also calculating his gains and allocating resources to his loved ones, making a list so that he didnʼt waste time after returning home.

At this point in time, he knew he could start an entire power now, and he wouldnʼt fall short of any power in the First Haven World. Perhaps his wealth even surpassed the value of treasures held in the Aurora Cloud Gateʼs Treasury, perhaps even the quality, although he wasnʼt sure as the Guardians could have the wildest and craziest resources with them.

Nonetheless, he had hundreds of Immortal Emperor Grade Resources of almost all attributes except the attribute of Supreme Laws, allowing him to allocate resources quickly. As for the minor details over the share of resources or if they wanted to grab help from the two cute alchemists in order to make a pill out of the resources, he felt that it would be good if it was left up to the individuals.

As for the liquid wealth he held, that almost reached three and a half trillion High-Level Immortal Crystals, leaving him speechless. Although it included a number of Mid-Level Immortal Crystals, Crystal Fragments, and Vein Cores, including High-Level ones, it was still a mindboggling amount that caused Davisʼs heart to shake as he secretly sucked a breath of cold air.

ʼWith this kind of huge fortune and a family to look after… I should start keeping an accountant…ʼ

Davis thought about Mingzhi as well as Yotan and a few other candidates who would be good at this kind of work, willing to be responsible and fair. However, he imagined that Mingzhi was like a cat, wanting to be carefree and roaming about while acting like an emotional support pet with her intent to practice Enigmatic Heart Laws while Yotan was already burdened with security reasons.

As for Evelynn, she already had many great responsibilities of looking after the home, the harem, and the children. He wasnʼt willing to burden her more, which left him with only a few options in his mind.

As he waited for the coast to clear, he was quite dreamy, imagining the huge family he would have with the laughter and joy echoing from the children.

ʼAlright… Iʼll stop with this…ʼ

Davis rubbed his forehead, not wanting to raise a flag needlessly.

He gazed at the twelve prisoners in front of him, who all no longer maintained their magical beast forms, becoming human.

There were four women and eight men.

The men were naturally the Phantom Gaze Serpent and Variant Dark Dragon, including the Space Gnawing Rat, Thunderhoof Sky Ox, Four-Winged Emberstripe Tiger, Three-Headed Hydra, Azuretail Shadow Wolf, and the Illusory Sunshade Fox.

As for the women, they were the Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit, Obsidian Lightning Kirin, Pelagic Serenity Turtle, and the Wind Phoenix.

Standing at the forefront of them was the Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit. She was no longer bloodthirsty, her eyes radiating a calm, like the calm before the storm in an ocean.

Davis couldnʼt help but gaze at her calm demeanor as she was too obedient for the moment, not even asking a question to his commands. Perhaps she was committed to grabbing the help of a devil like him, intending to get out of this place no matter what, and worked forward to save her Empress.

However, he didnʼt promise her that he would be able to get her out of this realm and further extrapolated that it depended on herself to be able to make the escape, making the same speech to the others.

After all, he didnʼt know if the spatial vortex leading back to the First Haven World would accept Immortal Emperor-level existences. On the other hand, if he failed to make it back to the spatial vortex after the realm concoction, he imagined that he could be screwed, especially if the sealing veil came down or the World Master no longer sees the benefits of keeping this realm protected.

Nonetheless, the Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit agreed with him as though it was natural, leaving him at a loss for words.

He panned his gaze at the other prisoners, knowing a bit of their background.

Some of them were truly not right in the mind, but that goes to say for all of them since they were imprisoned for hundreds and thousands of years or even millions, tortured and extracted for their natural bodily resources like the Phantom Gaze Cobraʼs nether venom.

”Emperor of Death. We did as you said, so when are you going to release the seal on our souls?”

Asked the wise-looking blue-robed Pelagic Serenity Turtle, whose attribute was water and darkness in nature. Her facial features were that of a middle-aged beauty, and she didnʼt bother to hide her beautiful face as well as her mature body that was hugged by a tight blue armor and a back armor, reminiscent of her turtle shell, a manifestation of her martial energy.

Davis turned to look at her.

Of course, he knew they could tell that he could remove the seal on their souls because they could see the Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit walk freely. However, this was possibly only due to Myriaʼs expertise on the soul and not his own. He only provided her with additional reincarnation energy to break the karmic seal imprinted on them.

Naturally, the Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit was shocked when she sensed Myriaʼs energy along with Davisʼs, but she didnʼt say anything at all.

But as for the runes etched on their bodies, Davis wasnʼt able to do anything, and neither could Myria, as the level of the runic lines and arcs were out of her expertise, so their prowess was still sealed to a high degree.

”I will release it when you have earned it.” He simply spoke.

However, he could quickly see discontent spread among them as their brows all narrowed.

”Shut up, you guys. We arenʼt in any position to negotiate. Just follow his orders, or otherwise, my claws will meet your throat.”

The Variant Dark Dragon uttered as it waved its claws.

Davisʼs eyes flickered, not able to see through the Variant Dark Dragonʼs true thoughts, but if it was intent on making up for the mistakes that it had done before, then he was welcoming of its actions. Right now, he only had Calypsea and the Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit to control them.

Otherwise, they were capable of killing him too, although when releasing them, he had forced them to give them a bit of their soul essence, giving them the warning that he could kill them anytime he wanted to as a last resort.

”Yeah, you all agreed to listen to him if it meant a chance to escape this purgatory, so donʼt back on your promises like true wicked creatures. Otherwise, my face wouldnʼt last as I vouched for you all!”

Echoed the Phantom Gaze Cobra, appearing rather prideful.

”Indeed, I hold true to my words, so if there is anyone whoʼs going to have their soul seal released in a few days first, then itʼs going to be the Phantom Gaze Cobra for his hard work in the last few hours.”

”Many thanks~”

Davis threw a big meal they couldnʼt resist, causing the expressions of the others to flicker while the Phantom Gaze Cobra cupped his hands towards Davis with a sly smile.

Naturally, Davis could see that they held many thoughts, but ultimately, he was the one who held the first key to their freedom, so the risk of betrayal was the least of his worries as long as they wanted to escape this realm!
