Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2580 Root Taken

*Whizzz!~* *Whizzz!~* *Whizzz!~*

Simultaneously, a few more figures appeared near their location as they swam in the dense lake.

Surrounding Iesha and Pia were Seylin Blizzara, Olas Windfall, Waine Might, Rea Tyriel, and Black Tyriel.

Due to their higher cultivation, even if they were not of ice attribute, they were able to endure to wintry burning nature of the viscous mercurial lake. There were also many others descending but were engaged in a battle with the others as their attacks became corroded in the viscous lake, yet it still shot through, blasting numerous people back as they engaged in a scuffle.

They essentially were unable to descend more as their alliances held back each other, and some still battled for the treasure on the surface.

”Another powerful character? Honestly, how many powerful people is he hiding?”

Rea Tyrielʼs lips couldnʼt help but curve in amusement.

Meanwhile, Pia, who was dumbfounded, came out of her reverie as her expression turned solemn.

As the targeted person at the moment, she understood that she was the only person the disciples of the Aurora Cloud Gate had no information on. Even Iesha had been known as she had become a core disciple, unable to become a true disciple.

After all, it was almost impossible for her as a spirit to keep a human inside her. In that way, she couldnʼt use Natalyaʼs power through the Prismatic Intramural Soul-Spirit Pact, and even if she could, Natalyaʼs cultivation base wasnʼt as strong as hers to boost her prowess. Therefore, she wasnʼt able to become a true disciple.

Nonetheless, Pia knew that she had to act how her princess wanted. She couldnʼt help but vaguely remember the time when Iesha stood up against Davis, protecting them all in an underground tunnel, similar to this situation. At that time, she didnʼt approve of a human, which led her to act against Ieshaʼs wishes.

She felt guilty for it, but now, she was thankful that she did it because she was still able to stick with her princess because of it. More than thankful, she felt grateful to her princess and her prince for giving her a chance to repent by serving Tanya. Otherwise, they wouldnʼt have kept her so close, but as an end result, she was finally able to speak to a human without much discrimination.

Tanya had become her close friend that she would go to many lengths for.

But now, knowing that it was her turn to protect Iesha now, she removed her veil, displaying her stern face that was unlike Iesha, who would appear adorable even if she was angered.

”You people want to steal this treasure from me?”

Her voice was cold and sharp as she had her gaze affixed on Seylin Blizzara. The latter frowned, unable to see through her prowess. Piaʼs stern face also didnʼt give any clues as it remained intimidating. She inherently had a scary countenance, and her pale blue face only made her seem like an angry ghost of their legends, causing Seylin Blizzara to hesitate.

However, she still spoke with confidence.

”Your cultivation is still lower by a level to be able to take on us.”

”Do you want to try then? Iʼm sure you thought the same about him, no?”

Pia sneered, ”Even the Heaven Tier Spirit, Silver Rain Ice Spirit, who was defeated by Black Tyriel, isnʼt my match.”

She conjoined her hands as her ice energy thrummed between her palms, causing the viscous lake to form many lines from the wedge between her fingers.

They could already sense her cultivation base that was at Level Eight Immortal Stage, and even though her gesture was unique, her prowess was only at Level Eleven Immortal Stage. They frowned, wondering if it would suddenly explode with immense power.

”Hmph!~”

Black Tyriel had already turned into his human form since his magical beast form would be restricted and easily targeted here. Nonetheless, he was about to teach Pia a lesson since she had brought his name up.

However, someone suddenly held his shoulder, causing him to narrow his eyes at Rea Tyriel, who shook her head.

Rea Tyriel had her gaze narrowed on both Pia and Iesha.

Pia didnʼt address Davis as the Emperor of Death respectfully, and Iesha, whom he claimed as his woman, didnʼt seem perturbed. Rather, she seemed somewhat subservient to Pia, causing her to not understand.

Whatʼs going on? Was this ice spirit named Pia really that strong?

She held genuine doubt as she remembered Myria, who was said to have defeated Niel Bladeheart in an instant. Was Pia another character like that?

She felt the people who were with him but didnʼt swoon around him shouldnʼt be underestimated.

”What are you guys doing!? Sheʼs taking the treasure away! Capture her!”

Suddenly, a bellow resounded from above, causing Rea Tyriel and the others to jolt out of their reverie as they turned to look below where the root was.

It was still there, making them frown as they turned to look at the source of the voice. They saw he was a member of the Aged Incense Alliance, which was an alliance specifically formed for spirits. No other race could enter, so they instantly deemed he was trying to create confusion and opportunity for a fellow spirit.

However, they followed his gaze and saw a dark-blue-robed woman rushing above with a large lotus in her hand. Sensing closely, they saw it gave off the same undulations they sensed on the root of the Mercurial Metal Ice Pearl, causing their pupils to dilate.

”What the...? Then thatʼs fake!?”

Black Tyriel turned to look at the root below in disbelief. Sensing closely, they saw that it was only covered by a remnant aura of the true root, and the aura it was emanating silently was actually at the peak of Immortal Stage.

”Natalya...”

Rea Tyriel smirked at Natalyaʼs bursting figure that no longer remained silent once she was found and hurriedly rose to the surface. Realizing that this woman somehow evaded their senses and replaced the root before escaping, leaving behind her allies here, Rea Tyriel was amazed before she turned to look at Iesha and Pia.

Iesha and Pia raised their hands in surrender as they suppressed a smile underneath their curled lips.

After this, capturing these two to make Natalya stay would lead to someoneʼs wrath falling on them.

Naturally, Pia wasnʼt even strong as Iesha. Her prowess only surged up to three levels higher rather than four levels.

On the other hand, Seylin Blizzaraʼs expression became frosty.

She was incensed to be fooled, causing her to quickly make a move. She took a step above and burst into an icy ray of light that traversed faster than Natalya could. Dense waves converged from her path as she caught up to Natalya second after second.

But suddenly, Natalya turned around and unleashed a lotus flower.

Seylin Blizzaraʼs eyes squinted at the peculiarity of the lotus. To her astonishment, it gave off a strange cerulean gleam, emanating both yin and ice energy. That was a combination of Ice and Yin Laws, Yin Fusion.

”As expected... these people couldnʼt be underestimated...”

Just as Rea Tyriel shook her head as she sighed in admiration, the cerulean lotus exploded, radiating a tumultuous wave of icy undulations that reached up to Level Eleven Immortal Stage and froze a large part of the viscous lake, creating an umbrella wall that blocked Seylin Blizzara from rising up. However, she didnʼt stop rising, appearing as though wanting to break through the wall with sheer offensive force.

Seylin Blizzaraʼs wings flapped as she spun around. With her arms held above her head and clasped into two palms held together, creating a sharp edge, her figure manifested into an icy spear that drove through the icy umbrella wall.

Facing little resistance, she cut through the blockade like it was tofu with her ultimate prowess that reached Level Three Immortal King Stage. However, once she reached the other side, her pupils dilated as she lost sight of Natalya in the dense and viscous lake again!

”This woman knows how to hide...”

Seylin Blizzara uttered in annoyance as she looked panned her gaze above. With that strange cyan lotus, she came to understand that the other party was using yin energy to mask her presence. Moreover, since the root was immaculately pure, its undulations were also not perceivable, especially when it was being concealed with yin energy.

However, she knew the other party was inextricably connected to a strand of ice energy that came from the surface.

”There you are...”

Abruptly sensing a sliver of ice energy undulating from above, she swiftly launched herself towards it and saw a dark-blue robed silhouette again.

”Hehe~ Stop, or youʼre going to get hurt even before I hurt you...”𝑓r𝘦𝘦𝘄eb𝒏𝙤vel.c𝙤𝙢

Natalya didnʼt look back and rose toward the surface at full speed. Her arms holding the root had already turned frosty, not from her energy but from the root. It emanated a dense icy aura that had Natalya feeling a burning sensation envelop her arm and body and even her soul.

She felt like she was going to turn into an ice statue if she didnʼt throw the treasure away, but this was the only chance where she could successfully reach the surface and claim the treasure for herself!

*Blch!~*

A strange sound emanated from the dense lake as a dark-blue-robed figure broke through and flew outside, appearing in the air. But at this moment, a spiral of icy wind surged from below and wrapped around that figureʼs leg, abruptly manifesting into an icy whip that wound up to her thigh.

”Ah!”

Natalya screamed in pain as an icy whip caught one of her legs, causing her to be unable to move. Her heart chilled as she turned to look below, seeing Seylin Blizzara having caught her before she even came out of the icy lake.
