Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2579 I Know

Tanya abruptly slashed with her sword to the front.

However, her image mysteriously became inverse, and the sword slash traversed backward. Its icy sharpness cut through the cold air, slicing through with an immense prowess that reached Level Ten Immortal Stage.

*Bang!~*

Average Level Nine Immortals wouldnʼt be able to block such an attack, but a solid sound echoed as it crashed onto something other than the person Tanya targeted.

However, Tanya and Natalya retreated a bit away using this brief moment. Their bare feet that held a connection with Iesha and Pia through their energies got severed, leaving them lost in the dense and viscous icy lake that metaphorically froze their sense of direction.

Thatʼs why even Kayla, the Silver Rain Ice Spirit, who was a Heaven-Tier Spirit with immense prowess, didnʼt dare to dive deep alone to defend against Black Tyrielʼs species technique.

However, the moment they landed on the icy surface again, they were able to reconnect their energy links with Iesha and Pia.

As humans with true fleshly bodies, they were unable to act as spirits did, able to pass through walls and blend into the essence of the attribute.

They could not easily enter the depths without using much energy to shield themselves, and as the lake was at Early Immortal King Grade at the very least, how could they easily counter its freezing effect? Their rate of depletion would be more.

Even their bare feet felt like it was in pain, full of burning sensation.

Still, they had to do this so that Iesha and Pia didnʼt get lost within and freeze to death before they were unable to endure anymore.

Nonetheless, with Natalya and Tanya retreating together, they saw the person who blocked them.

A beautiful, white-veiled, icy-blue-robed woman stood before them. She had her hands conjoined into a seal, manifesting an icy barrier to defend against her attack. However, she also had icy-blue wings that stretched magnificently and flapped, lifting her slightly as she hovered.

”Wah~ That was not a warm welcome.”

”...!”

Only after she spoke did Natalya and Tanya abruptly discover that they were imprisoned in a spherical-winged barrier that appeared like phoenix wings encompassing them.

”Seylin Blizzara of the Ice Phoenix Clan.”

Natalya had her eyes narrowed as she recognized this fey as the sixteenth-ranked disciple in the True Disciple Rankings - Immortal. She had heard about her before as they had Yeyin in their mind and investigated a bit about the Ice Phoenix Clan. Apparently, not only was Seylin Blizzara known to be vastly beautiful, she was even said to be jovial, but most importantly, she got exiled from her clan for being too mischievous.

She simply didnʼt respect the virtuous silence of the Ice Phoenix Clan, never appearing to be calm or composed. Instead, by playing pranks on her seniors and unwittingly humiliating them many times, she earned her ticket to the Aurora Cloud Gate.

During her anonymous outing, Natalya had heard that most of the important disciples who were sent here from other major powers were problem children. As for why the Aurora Cloud Gate would accept them despite the problem they could carry here with them, it was said that the major powers gave donations to the Aurora Cloud Gate to allow their disciples to enter and learn under them.

Therefore, the Aurora Cloud Gate was obligated not to reject whoever came from those powers unless they were criminals.

But the truth was, she knew that the Aurora Cloud Gate wasnʼt afraid of Divergents, much fewer problem children who would unwittingly attract calamities by acting stupid to some other power.

However, Seylin Blizzara was too strong and proved herself to be a menace when she improved her bloodline to King-Tier, climbing the ranks of the disciples and becoming a higher-tiered disciple soon enough.

Her story was practically a new-era legend in the Ice Phoenix Clan, and they invited her back, but she refused to go back, basically slapping them in the face again.

”Senior, I think we should let them go.”

At this moment, an ice phoenix flew with its icy-blue wings flapping. It was breathtakingly beautiful as it gloriously glided down but hearing its voice, both Natalya and Tanya realized that it was Mistress Yeyin Blizzara.

Seylin Blizzara only gave Mistress Yeyin an amused look before her eyes narrowed at Natalya and Tanya.

”I really donʼt want to offend the person behind you, so Iʼll give you two a break as I admit I startled you. This is your last warning.”

Saying that sentence, she spread her human-sized wings once again and dived down. A layer of ice energy covered her as she made her way into the depths. Whatʼs more pressing was that she followed the icy link below to catch up with them.

Caught in a bind, neither Tanya nor Natalya was able to do anything to stop her from catching up to Iesha and Pia. Her speed was also much faster as she was practically brute forcing her way to them.

”Sheʼs mischievous but not stupid.”

Natalya hissed in clenched teeth before she also took a decision and simply sank into the icy lake as though she had fallen into a swamp. Tanyaʼs expression changed before she also thought of following them below, but she knew if even she left, all of them would get lost and die.

But at this moment, two men and one woman surrounded her.

She could see that they were all from the Ice Phoenix Clan. However, their cultivations were at Level Five Immortal Stage or Level Six Immortal Stage. They were also only core disciples, not really a threat if she decided to deal with them all together with her current power, but with her still linking her energy with the people below, she knew that she would find it immensely difficult.

In the distance, Davis couldnʼt help but smile at the Ice Phoenix Clanʼs maneuver.

They knew that he would interfere if they used their advantageous higher cultivation to bully Tanya and Natalya, so they left it to their younger disciples. He wondered if this was the composed Yeyinʼs doing or the mischievous Seylin Blizzaraʼs underestimated intellect.

But at this moment, a worried voice sounded beside Davis.

”Big brother, I sense a karmic resonance below the icy lake with the blood we collected before, so I suspect thereʼs an Unfettered Ice Fiend waiting below the icy lake.”

”Mhm. I know.”

Davis lightly nodded, causing Tia to gawk while Niel Bladeheart and Mystic Diviner Hailac looked at him in shock, although the formerʼs expression didnʼt change much.

But still, why wasnʼt he moving in to help them? Mystic Diviner Hailac was truly mortified by being manhandled by that fiendish creature, so for him to remain indifferent, she didnʼt know what to say other than expect a tragic outcome.

Below the icy lake, a few hundred meters below, Iesha and Pia came to a stop as they looked at the root of the Mercurial Metal Ice Pearl. However, what attracted their gaze was not the root but a thirty-meter-tall body floating as though it was an abandoned carcass.

”Why is there a dead Unfettered Ice Fiend here...?”

Their eyes twitched as they found no fluctuations emanating from it. Only the remnant aura and the ridiculousness of the situation made them doubt their eyes, causing them to suspect that the Unfettered Ice Fiend was faking its death.

Since not much was known about the Unfettered Gargantuan Ice Fiend, they cautiously proceeded to the root.

*Whizzz!~*

But at this moment, a dense piercing sound echoed throughout the viscous lake as an icy-blue winged woman appeared before them. Her sapphire blue hair was floating in viscosity while her crimson eyes looked at them with shock as they panned between them and the Unfettered Ice Fiend.

”Did you two kill it?”

”...”

”No.” Iesha narrowed her brows before she gulped and turned to Pia as she became reverential.

”It was Mistress Piaʼs sole doing...”𝑓r𝑒e𝘄𝑒𝗯𝗻𝗼v𝒆l.𝘤𝘰𝘮

”...” Pia was completely dumbstruck, unable to utter a single word or make a facial expression.

However, Seylin Blizzaraʼs gaze became solemn as it concentrated on her, causing her to become the sole target of the fey.

”Who are you?”
