Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2571 Meeting Again

As Davis progressed in the tunnel with the others, he sensed a bit of emotional clamor behind him and couldnʼt help but remind.

”Only do what youʼre commanded to do. If you have a bit of leeway to pay attention to other things, then do what you should do. Yes, Iʼm specifically speaking to you, my Vice-Commander and Captains.”

”Ah... yes~”

”I understand.”

Yotan, Lightsky, and Starlily answered with some trepidation in their heart, not expecting their Legion Master to address their worries.

They were commanded to guard Tia, who had the lowest cultivation base of them all, so for them to pay attention to their Legion Masterʼs safety was severely overestimating themselves. They hadnʼt attained a level that they could even act as a decoy in his life.

They no longer felt ashamed but were determined.

However, they felt that their Legion Masterʼs perception was as expected as he had learned Heart Intent. This was only known to a few individuals ever since it was revealed to the Jade Lotus Valley back in the Grand Beginnings Continent, so the Reaper Soul Legion knew very well that their Legion Master could sense the emotions of others easily.

Some also suspected that it was a requirement to stay sane while using Death Laws. Although it was merely speculation, with how sane and reasonable their Legion Master was than the vile stories they heard about the users of Death Laws, they were convinced that he was a master in comprehending Enigmatic Heart Laws than any other being in the world that even if other users of such combination existed, they could not retrace what their Legion Master did.

With how he carried them here, allowing them to become powerful immortals, they were full of reverence and respect for him.

Thereafter, no one said a word anymore as they cautiously made their way into the tunnel. They were many pathways intersecting, and they already found footprints, auras, and even battle marks left in the pathway.

Davis, for one, was astonished that the tunnel had not caved in. They were quite strong despite their icy, brittle appearance, as cracks were all over the place.

However, he suddenly stopped at a point as he looked at a sword mark on the ice wall.

”This is... Niel Bladeheartʼs aura...?”

Davis blinked, wondering what he was doing here. Wasnʼt Niel Bladeheartʼs cultivation not merely at Level One Immortal Stage?

If not, why would he feel a bit threatened by the aura radiating from the sword mark?

It only took a moment for Davis to come up with a plausible answer.

”Seems like the Aurora Cloud Gate has Temporal Speeding Formations as well, one that wouldnʼt lose out to the one you have.”

Ellia lightly smiled, causing Davis to nod.

”Seems like it, but the cost must be astronomical as well. Considering the workaholic cultivator attitude of Niel Bladeheart, Iʼm sure he raked in a ton of contribution points to fund this quick improvement.”

The others agreed. They had no need for temporal formations, so they hadnʼt checked anything about it, but thinking logically, it was only normal for a power of this scale to have not one but many temporal formations for disciples to use, unlike the other powers that only reserved those expensive formations for elders if they ever had one in the first place.

After all, to speed time and have it reflect on the entirety of space, there must be a Formation Master of both Time and Space Laws working to create one or two individuals of those respective laws having near-perfect sync in order to be able to create such a formation.

However, Davis couldnʼt help but reevaluate the top geniuses of the Aurora Cloud Gate. He felt like if he kept underestimating them just because he had the prowess to overpower them, he might accidentally die of his own foolery.

For example, Niel Bladeheartʼs family heirloom, which was the sword he used, was actually sealed. If it revealed its true prowess, then even Nadia might die in an instant.

Like Niel Bladeheart, every one of those true disciples was bound to have a life-saving, offensive, or defensive treasure that would turn the tides in their favor. They were not just displaying or revealing it as Niel Bladeheart did, but that just told volumes about his confidence or, perhaps, his familyʼs might.

As Davis began to imagine that the Bladeheart Family must be a strong family, he continued walking down the tunnel as it headed deeper and became colder. At this point, the diameter of the tunnel also enlarged, having many entrances from other tunnels. Most tunnels appeared to convene at the same point as Davis came to understand as he pictured the scenery in his head as his soul sense surveyed the region.

Although the freezing atmosphere kept his soul sense at bay, it was only able to block seventy percent of his probe. He saw many more people gather at a distance, which made him wonder what was up as he took back his soul sense lest his true Soul Forging Cultivation be found out by some powerful disciples.

*Whoosh!~*

Abruptly, Davis and the others appeared out of a tunnel and descended on an abyssal terrain where there were many cliffs, leading into a downward spiral of somewhere unknown, perhaps to instant death.

”...”

The blue ice crystals glowed and gave off natural light that lit up the huge cave they were in, but Davis only gave the abyss below a look before deciding that it wasnʼt worth it to explore the unknown and raised his head to look at the terrified disciples gaining distance from him as fast as lightning.

”Youʼre really being treated like a plague, haha~”

”Or theyʼre afraid youʼll kill them, which is understandable cause I was once terrified of you too...”

Natalya giggled with a hint of pride in her tone before Iesha came out and joined in on the fun. She looked around and took a deep breath, seemingly looking refreshed as her white eyes lit up.

”This ice energy... I can feel it... thereʼs an ice-attribute source nearby.”

”Oh?”

Davis also looked around, trying to find the source with his eyes alone. However, he had to give it to Iesha for being able to pick up a scent that he wasnʼt able to feel. The spirit race had tons of advantages the other two major races didnʼt possess when it came to their attributes.

”Well, well, if it isnʼt the Emperor of Death that everyone didnʼt expect to appear, including me. I trust that I didnʼt disturb your wedding that day with my rude behavior. So what brings you here- oh my...”

The air whistled as a black crow abruptly dived into the icy terrain before it gracefully landed, revealing an astonished white-robed woman on top of it who looked at Davis as though she was stunned.

”Today, thereʼs two different women with you of the opposite attribute...”

One could tell that she was speechless as just a few days ago, she saw Davis marrying Sophie and Niera, and now, he was with his second wife and some other women she hadnʼt heard of much. It was like he fancied women of one attribute one day and another attribute the other.

”How rude...”

Davis shrugged as he shook his head, causing Rea Tyriel to giggle heartily.

”Haha~ My apologies. I know Iʼm quite spoiled bu-”

”I didnʼt mean that. I meant you missed one of them.” Davis gestured to the side, ”This Frigid World Ice Spirit named Iesha is also my beloved woman.”

”Hello...”

”...”

Iesha was quite awkward with her demeanor as she waved her hand like a human would, causing Rea Tyriel to turn speechless.

”Well...” Rea Tyriel came out of her reverie and cupped hands, ”Greetings, fellow disciples. Last time, I might have seen you or not, so donʼt take offense if I donʼt know your names.”

As she spoke, she looked at Tanya, who held a sheathed sword in her hand.

Tanyaʼs lips curled as she knew her identity was being brought into question.

”Nameʼs Tanya Davis. Iʼd be pleased to make your acquaintance if youʼre a bit more polite to my man.”

”Iʼll try~”

Rea Tyriel couldnʼt help but laugh lightly in amusement. It was one thing for Davis to demand something from her as he had proved himself so, but when did these women under him start to resound his words? She didnʼt care and pointed in a direction as she returned her gaze to him.

”If youʼre looking for the source of the intense ice energy present here, then itʼs in that direction.”

”Oh? Arenʼt you easily giving away the location of an invaluable treasure? Is it because your attribute doesnʼt match it?”𝚏𝘳e𝒆𝙬e𝘣𝗻𝙤v𝒆l.𝑐𝒐𝘮

”Not really.”

Rea Tyriel shook her head, ”The source is currently shrouded in a fog of ice that freezes everyone who nears it. Even Kayla, a Silver Rain Ice Spirit who is currently ranked eighteenth in the True Disciple Rankings, is unable to near it, waiting for the opportune moment to enter. So if I canʼt enter, itʼs really a waste of time to wait here when I can look for other resources. For this resource, it just means contribution points to me, and besides, giving you a heads up isnʼt a loss when we consider ourselves to be somewhat of an ally.”

Davis and the otherʼs eyes widened as they heard from Rea Tyriel, not about how she viewed this treasure as mere contribution points but about the Silver Rain Ice Spirit.

The Silver Rain Ice Wisp was a terrifying Heaven-Tier Spirit Attribute Source ranked seventh in the Ice-Attribute Immortal Grade Rankings. Even a weak Heaven-Tier Spirit Attribute Source could reach a prowess thatʼs three levels higher easily, so this Silver Rain Ice Wisp that was ranked seventh was already able to cross four levels higher when born.

When they turn or are reborn as spirits, they could easily reach five levels higher in prowess and even gain further power upon finding nutritional sources of their attribute. Such was the astonishing notion about Heaven-Tier Spirits but what was even more terrifying was that the property of their ice revealed by its silver color.

For a Silver Rain Ice Spirit like Kayla to be here, they very well knew that she was here to upgrade the dense and viscous property of her silver ice with the Mercurial Blitz Ice, making it incredibly harder and more durable that it might be possible that her prowess will undergo a more remarkable change.

Davis, Natalya, Iesha, and Tanya looked at each other, imagining that there was going to be an altercation after all.
