I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 939, Absolute Absurdity

Translator: Silavin

In the sky, a hot air balloon advanced steadily.

The balloon’s occupants comprised Ah Liv and Flame Dragon Tribe Totem Warriors.

The Warriors escorting the Green Vine Tribe members home this time were Bai Si and He Chuan, along with several Warrior Trainees.

Originally, Yan Hua, Sha Lan, and others were designated to lead this mission, but they had other responsibilities.

Naturally, the personnel accompanying Ah Liv to Green Vine Tribe were replaced and the replacements were naturally formidable enough to complete the mission.

They had departed the Flame Dragon Tribe mere days previously and would soon reach Green Vine Tribe.

“We’re approaching soon. You don’t need to enter. I fear Father and the others might make things difficult for you.” Ah Liv’s expression remained troubled. Since departing the Flame Dragon Tribe, this expression has persisted.

Beyond resenting the Green Vine Tribe’s scheme, she worried about potential conflict between the two Tribes.

Many excellent goods from the Flame Dragon Tribe were precisely what the Green Vine Tribe needed, items Ah Liv herself valued greatly.

She desperately wished to maintain cooperation with the Flame Dragon Tribe, hoping to prevent things from escalating into a full blown war.

Furthermore, if war erupted, the Green Vine Tribe clearly had no chance of victory.

Previously, she had not understood this reality. However, her extended stay in the Flame Dragon Tribe had revealed their substantial capabilities.

“Understood. We’ll wait in the nearby forest.” Bai Si surveyed the surroundings, continuing, “That location, then. The cliff face would prevent Ferocious Beast from approaching. Complete your business and return.”

She understood entering would be inappropriate. Under current circumstances, nobody could guarantee safe passage.

“Understood.” Ah Liv felt relieved by their understanding.

If they did not split up now, upon her return and explanation of events, with the Shaman and Chieftain’s temperament, they would certainly force these Flame Dragon Tribe members to be detained.

Ah Liv knew that capturing these few Flame Dragon Tribe members would actually be quite straightforward. However, such action would mean unrecoverable hostility between the two Tribes.

Subsequently, a catastrophic slaughter would ensue, and she knew it would be mostly her people that bore the cost.

In fact, it might actually be a one-sided annihilation. The Flame Dragon Tribe would unquestionably dominate the whole war.

After Ah Liv reached ground level, the hot air balloon began ascending slowly.

“I wonder if good news awaits us.” He Chuan suddenly said.

His gaze remained fixed on Ah Liv advancing towards Green Vine Tribe, his heart somewhat unsettled.

“It depends on whether the Green Vine Tribe understands their priorities. Hopefully, they are wise enough to not choose wrongly.” Bai Si hardly cared. She knew any rational individual would recognise the most appropriate choice here.

Confronted with absolutely overwhelming capabilities, only fools would gamble on their entire Tribe’s survival.

“This is still not certain. Maybe they will not believe our Tribe is that strong. But, I do hope we will go to war.” He Chuan’s previously anxious heart suddenly stabilised. He now perversely hoped for unfavourable news to come back.

Naturally, this would be unfortunate news for the Green Vine Tribe, yet still prove to be positive for their Flame Dragon Tribe.

“Yeah. If they refuse to comply with the Shaman’s terms, we shall assume full control over the entire Green Vine Tribe.” Bai Si took a gulp from a drink, continuing. “Once that happens, our Flame Dragon Tribe’s labour force would increase a ton.”

In the primitive era, thoughts were simple. The people desired abundant meat to eat, and enough people within their Tribe.

This was the universal thinking of every Tribe. Each Tribe wants a ton of members. After all, only with enough people could they eventually form a Large Tribe. And, they needed food to sustain such a population.

“According to the Shaman, we just need to quietly wait. Regardless of the outcome, there is no significant difference for us.” He Chuan also relaxed.

*Step step step…*

After disembarking the hot air balloon, Ah Liv began running rapidly.

Her hands continuously pushed aside obstructing branches and approaching insects, advancing directly towards the Green Vine Tribe.

She disregarded foot abrasions, insect bites, and branch strikes. She was concerned solely with swiftly delivering the bad news to the Tribe.

Half an hour later, Ah Liv reached the Tribe bearing numerous marks on her body.

Tribal members immediately surrounded her, asking about events and the whereabouts of the accompanying Warriors.

However, Ah Liv had no time to give them an explanation. Under normal circumstances, she might share what she observed outside. However, right now, she needed to see the Shaman.

She proceeded directly towards the Shaman’s wooden house.

Seeing this, Green Vine Tribe members stopped asking questions, recognising that something was off.

Although everyone remained concerned about the other Warriors. They quietly watched as Ah Liv proceeded towards the Shaman’s wooden house.

*Creak!*

Disregarding all protocols, Ah Liv pushed the door open and knelt immediately, trying to regulate her breathing.

“What happened? Why are you in such a panic?” Shaman Lu Zheng slowly opened his aged eyes.

He had been resting with closed eyes, having finally completed another Shaman Bone Tablet after half a year’s effort.

Recently, completing Shaman Bone Tablet creation proved extremely taxing on both his mental strength and Shaman Power. Each time, he would need to recover for a long period.

“Shaman, our plan has been discovered. The plan you authorised them to execute.” Ah Liv gasped continuously, drinking water in large gulps. All protocol had been completely abandoned.

“What did you say!? Then, why has the Flame Dragon Tribe sent you back!?” Shaman Lu Zheng immediately frowned.

He knew that the Flame Dragon Tribe had not executed everyone. Otherwise, Ah Liv would not have returned to report.

Furthermore, Ah Liv had just recently departed from the Tribe. Calculating from the previous Flame Dragon Tribe visit, she had returned too early. It should have taken her a few more days to return.

“The Flame Dragon Tribe’s Shaman demands compensation for their losses.” Ah Liv articulated each word distinctly.

“How absurd. What losses has the Flame Dragon Tribe sustained? Speak plainly. What do they demand?” Shaman Lu Zheng fully comprehended how cunning others were. Raising such claims now just meant that they wanted to extort resources from his Tribe.

“Shaman, prepare yourself mentally.” Ah Liv consumed another substantial gulp of water before continuing slowly, “They want our Tribe to provide slaves, dried meat, and Shaman Bone Tablets.”

Upon finishing, she immediately lowered her head, not daring to meet his gaze directly. Merely thinking about his reaction was unsettling for her.

“Repeat what you’ve just said. The Flame Dragon Tribe truly demanded these things?” Shaman Lu Zheng’s composure instantly evaporated.

His voice intensified substantially. The wooden house was immediately filled with an oppressive atmosphere.

“The Flame Dragon Tribe demands slaves, dried meat, and Shaman Bone Tablets. Without this compensation, they…” Ah Liv continued with lowered head, mentally preparing how to persuade him.
