I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 919, High Tower

After Yan Hua and Sha Lan finished training, they ran back to the Yong’an Building, just in time for breakfast.

The two immediately washed their hands, sat at the dining table, and began eating breakfast, wolfing it down.

Of course, only Yan Hua wolfed it down. Sha Lan still ate very elegantly.

However, she only appeared elegant compared to Yan Hua. Compared to Su Bai, she was still lacking.

Sha Lan also ate in very large bites, just not as urgently.

Originally, the two had wanted to eat breakfast in the morning after finishing, but their training time was truly too early.

They had grown accustomed to eating meals made by Yu Ying. They certainly would not cook those unpalatable dried meat themselves.

However, this dried meat was not much different in flavour from what they used to frequently eat. It was just that after having eaten too much of what Yu Ying made, they were filled with disgust for the dried meat they previously often ate. After all, one bite and it was full of gamey flavour. Moreover, the texture was very poor, simply incomparable to delicacies cooked with seasonings.

Because of this, they naturally did not eat breakfast in the morning before training. Generally, they would only return to eat breakfast after training finished.

Sha Lan looked at the bowl refilled with wheat mushroom porridge. Her heart instantly felt satisfied, and she immediately picked it up and ate heartily.

She wiped her just-finished mouth, asking, “Shaman, are we going to the forest farmland today?”

“That’s right. Didn’t the Shaman previously draw something? Are we implementing it today?”

Yan Hua remembered those two intelligence agents had already left the Flame Dragon Tribe. Then what was mentioned last time should be visible today.

“Yes. Just waiting for you two to return. After you finish eating, we’ll go to the farmland in the forest.” Su Bai said lightly.

“By the way, Shaman, regarding what you said last time about expanding the farmland, I’ve already told the Chieftain.”

Sha Lan took another large gulp of wheat mushroom porridge, saying unclearly, “The Chieftain has already sent people to the forest. Perhaps we’ll encounter them when we go today.”

“Good. We’ll handle today’s matters together. This way, during the rainy season, we can eat fresh crops.”

Su Bai drank down the last mouthful of wheat porridge, flexing his finger joints, preparing to show his skills today.

It was not that there was no way to eat fresh vegetables during last year’s rainy season. It was just that at that time, they only had limited space within the greenhouses.

It could only supply the Yong’an Building’s people. The others had no way to enjoy this treatment.

But Su Bai now wanted fresh vegetables that the entire Tribe’s people could eat.

So, he needed to expand the farmland. Only then could it supply the entire Tribe.

“Yes.” The girls said in unison.

They all quickened their eating speed. Now they used chopsticks very smoothly.

The roasted sweet potatoes on the table were finished by them in an instant. In the end, they still looked like they hadn’t eaten enough.

Over an hour later, Su Bai and the others finished breakfast and rested a bit, incidentally bringing lunch to eat in the forest.

Under Ye Jiu’s escort, they left the Yong’an Building, boarded the carriage, and proceeded directly toward the farmland in the forest.

Due to having a pre-built main road, and this road leading directly to the farmland.

So, the advance could be much faster, time could also be greatly shortened, and crucially, the journey would be more comfortable.

Over three hours later, Su Bai and the others arrived at the farmland in the forest. This was a very large farmland.

Looking out, it was as large as several football fields combined. Moreover, it was now fully planted with wheat.

The surroundings were also erected with rows of wooden walls, very much like Earth’s farms.

Crucially, a very high tower had been established in the middle of the farmland, and this tower was also cast from cement and stone.

Besides facilitating people managing this farmland, it also allowed those managing this farmland to have security guarantees.

“Shaman, why does this building look so narrow?” Yu Ying innocently blinked her pink eyes.

Since moving the farmland from the Tribe entrance to the forest, Yu Ying rarely went there to look.

She would only go about once every five or six days. When she went, she would only check the farmland’s condition.

Because the farmland’s affairs no longer required her management. It had been arranged for specialized personnel to manage.

Of course, those professional personnel were also trained by her previously. After all, previously the farmland was mostly handled by her.

“It was arranged to be built. It took about five days or so to complete.” Sha Lan twitched her cat ears, continuing to explain, “This is called a High Tower, not a building. The Shaman said High Towers have this slender shape.”

This High Tower’s height was three storeys tall. The stairs were set up inside, so there was security.

If someone wanted to go inside the High Tower, they had to open the door from outside and walk up the stairs.

At the High Tower’s top, two rooms were also established. One room was the farm tools storage room. The other room was for the person guarding this farmland.

“I see. But it’s really impressive. Building such a tall building in five days…” Yu Ying happily swished her pink fox tail, then immediately corrected herself, “No wait, this is called a High Tower. It really looks good.”

Ye Jiu on the side was also touched. Her grey eyes stared straight at that High Tower.

She had never seen such a slender structure. Originally, the cement houses in the Tribe already shocked her tremendously. But now seeing this slender High Tower, her heart still couldn’t help but naturally give rise to a kind of awe.

This awe was for Su Bai. She truly admired him, feeling she had not pledged allegiance to the wrong Tribe.

“Shaman, this High Tower should be for the person guarding this farmland to live in, right?”

After getting off the carriage, Yu Ying continued to say, “Living at such a height, there shouldn’t be worry about Ferocious Beasts climbing up.”

Moreover, the surface had no protruding stones whatsoever, so there weren’t any footholds for them to climb on.

“This High Tower exists to guard the farmland. Want to go up and take a look?” Su Bai asked.

Honestly, from this High Tower’s construction until now, he had not come to see it, from the beginning when he drew the design diagram and had Sha Lan find stonemasons to come build it up.

Now, seeing the finished product, he still felt somewhat emotional, and also had an impulse to climb up and have a look.

“Can I go up?” Yu Ying innocently blinked her pink eyes.

“Why not?” Su Bai pulled Yu Ying’s hand, walking toward the High Tower.

*Step step step…*
