I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 905, The Need for Gradual Warming

“Why did you stop eating? Don’t worry, there’s plenty more.” Su Bai picked up another orange and began peeling it.

He had never peeled an orange for a girl before. That action just now had been completely subconscious.

“No, it’s just that I feel very happy.” A flush of scarlet instantly crept across Yan Hua’s face. She lowered her head and slowly separated a segment of the orange, gently placing it into her cherry-like mouth.

“Hmm? Why are you suddenly so happy? Did you resolve what was weighing on your mind?” Su Bai asked knowingly.

He kept his gaze fixed on Yan Hua’s delicate face. Her snow-white cheeks bore a faint scarlet tinge, adding a touch of endearing vulnerability to her appearance.

Yan Hua grew even more bashful under his scrutiny. She gradually lowered her head, her long black hair cascading down with that movement. Her hands fidgeted unnaturally with the orange, separating it, closing it back together, then separating and closing it again. Afterwards, she slowly extracted another segment, leisurely placing it in her mouth. Her small face moved gently as she chewed.

“Shaman, is there something on my face?” Yan Hua asked with pursed lips.

At this moment, she could only feel her heart racing. This sensation of being watched made her intensely nervous.

Yan Hua could not help thinking internally, [Wait… wait… surely the Shaman hadn’t realised my feelings? Ah! That would be too embarrassing!]

She had been so adamant about not becoming a Shaman Priestess. If she had been willing to become a Shaman Priestess, wouldn’t this sort of thing happen naturally?

But she had already refused. To be having these thoughts now seemed rather late.

“Yes, there’s something on your face.” Su Bai watched as she slowly lifted her head.

He reached out and brushed aside the strands of hair scattered across her cheek, revealing her palm-sized delicate face.

“Shaman, then I’ll go and wash it off right away.” Yan Hua shyly clutched the orange and hurried away.

She even forgot the pillow she always carried with her. As she left, her entire face was flushed crimson.

This was the first time she had experienced her heart beating this rapidly. It felt as though it might leap right out through her throat.

Yan Hua returned to her room at the speed of wind, sitting on the edge of the bed and gasping for breath.

She gripped the orange tightly against her chest, murmuring to herself. “What was I doing!? Why was I thinking about such things!? Oh my goodness!!”

Yan Hua kept shaking her head frantically, not daring to recall that scene. It had been far too embarrassing.

Two pairs of exquisite eyes meeting together, their gazes seemingly conveying something between them. The atmosphere had suddenly become charged with intimacy.

She still could not help burying her face against her thighs, shaking her head madly. Now she absolutely didn’t dare recall that moment.

But the incident had already occurred. She felt intensely regretful that she had gone down there at all. She had nearly kissed that delicate face again.

“The last time, the Shaman did not say anything. That doesn’t mean he won’t say something this time. How could I be so rash!?” Yan Hua suddenly sat bolt upright again, continuing to murmur to herself. “What would have happened if I had taken his lips again? No, no, no. I cannot harbour such dangerous thoughts.”

She immediately stood up and went to the window to feel the breeze, continuously patting her pretty face with her slender fingers.

At this moment, Yan Hua desperately wanted to calm herself down. She couldn’t do anything improper again.

She sighed deeply and said. “I’m not even a Shaman Priestess. The Shaman probably wouldn’t like me, would he?”

Yan Hua began sinking into a young girl’s troubles, constantly thinking that he wouldn’t fancy her. She walked to the mirror to examine her face. This mirror was also a gift from Su Bai. She wanted to see where she might be lacking.

“The Shaman probably likes Ah’Lan, doesn’t he? Her face is so beautiful, and her blue eyes are so pretty.” Yan Hua cupped her face in one hand, continuing to murmur. “Moreover, she can help the Shaman with so many things. She’s also very calm and composed. She has far too many positive points.”

She stopped her self-talk, first adjusting her hair, then spinning around in place.

In any case, no matter how she looked, she felt dissatisfied. She kept thinking Su Bai would not like her, and could not help sighing again.

“Xiao Yu is also very beautiful. The Shaman might also like Xiao Yu. After all, she’s the first Shaman Priestess.” Yan Hua clutched at her hair, muttering to herself. “There are so many beautiful maids in the Yong’an Building. Perhaps the Shaman likes them too? It seems like I have no chance.”

She sighed and lay down on the bed, her innocent large red eyes staring at the ceiling. Her mind kept replaying what had just happened.

“If the Shaman also liked me, then kissing him earlier wouldn’t matter, would it?” Yan Hua reached out to grab her pillow.

However, she discovered that no matter how much she felt around, she could not find her pillow.

She suddenly sat up, her red eyes widening instantly. She realised she had not brought the pillow upstairs.

“Are you looking for this?” Su Bai leaned against the doorframe, dangling the pillow with one hand.

At this moment, Yan Hua experienced death in her heart. She recalled every scene she had just enacted.

Right now, she just wanted to find a hole to crawl into. It was far too mortifying. She no longer dared open her eyes to look at Su Bai.

“Just so you know, I didn’t hear anything. Here’s your pillow. Quickly go to sleep.” Su Bai slowly walked over.

Of course, he had observed everything from the side. He had seen and heard every single movement and word. This was the first time he felt Yan Hua had such an adorable side. He really could not bear to interrupt her.

So, he had intentionally stayed there from beginning to end, appreciating this marvellous show. She should win Best Actress of the year.

“Shaman, please forget everything I said today, won’t you? It was all confused nonsense from being unable to sleep.” Yan Hua explained frantically.

Su Bai grabbed her hand in one swift motion, then pulled her entire body forcefully into his embrace.

He held her with one arm. His warm, jade-like voice sounded. “Silly girl. How will you know unless you try?”

Su Bai’s response was the answer to the question Yan Hua had been asking herself moments ago.

How could one not adore Yan Hua’s exquisite face, her lively personality, and that enchanting figure? Especially that pair of horns on her forehead, they were something one could only see in two-dimensional girls. Su Bai naturally treasured them.

It was just that she was the Chieftain’s Daughter. He could not be too hasty. Additionally, his initial focus had been entirely on developing the Tribe.

He had not allowed his thoughts to drift towards romantic matters. But now, he was gradually becoming more idle.

With three delicate and adorable young women constantly moving about in the Yong’an Building, his thoughts were inevitably stirred.

“Shaman…” Yan Hua had been frantically explaining, but now suddenly fell quiet, becoming as docile as a small rabbit.

She slowly raised her pretty face to look at Su Bai’s chin. Her red eyes were filled with radiance.

“Sleep early tonight.” Su Bai gently kissed her forehead.

He did not want to do anything more for now. Feelings needed to gradually sprout and be nurtured. This was not yet the time.

“Yes.” Yan Hua nodded happily. She would definitely sleep well tonight.
