I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 932, Rare Commodity

“Shaman, I don’t know much else…” Ban Ye hesitated somewhat, furrowing his brow to ask, “Is there no solution to this?”

Only now did he truly understand. Previously he never knew the reason. Turns out he had been harmed by his previous Shaman, causing his talented self to face severe limitations in strength.

“Besides implanting things in your bodies during your awakening ceremonies, did your Shaman exhibit any other behaviour?”

Su Bai continued questioning. He had never imagined such a thing to happen, though he found them quite intriguing.

“Nothing else. The remaining procedures were all the same as the other Tribes.” Ban Ye shook his head, having previously discussed this issue with people from other Tribes.

“If so, then the greatest problem is what’s inside your body,” Su Bai continued scrutinising the other.

When performing the Curing Skill earlier, he had only seen an accumulated mass at the heart. Exactly what it was remained completely unknown.

“Shaman, could it be a Ferocious Beast’s Crystal?” Ye Jiu suddenly recalled something.

As someone from a Wanderer Tribe previously, the wolf eared girl naturally knew more information.

“Ferocious Beast Crystal? What’s that? I’ve never heard of it.”

Su Bai furrowed his brow, beginning to access memories deep in his mind, memories the Old Shaman had passed to him.

A moment later he raised his head, speaking softly, “According to what you’ve said, this is indeed possible.”

Indeed, Su Bai had captured memories from deep within his mind. Because this memory was almost never used…

[Now things roughly make sense.]

“Ferocious Beast Crystals? I’ve heard Father mention this, though they are really rare.” Yan Hua twirled her black hair, continuing, “Apparently not even one exists among a thousand Ferocious Beasts, and few people have seen them.”

“I’ve seen one. Mother once hunted an Ox-like Ferocious Beast containing such a crystal. No wonder Mother was extremely surprised then.” Sha Lan struggled to recall memories from when separated from the Tribe, blinking her blue eyes. “But, to obtain supplies, we traded it with people from other Tribes.”

She now understood why Mother had seemed to be in so much pain then. It had also exchanged for tremendous amounts of food.

That Ferocious Beast Crystal had traded for half a month’s provisions for their group, allowing rest without hunting for a period.

“I know. These Ferocious Beast Crystals only form in Ancient Blood Ferocious Beasts and above, and not every beast possesses one.” Su Bai sipped his tea, continuing, “This is probably like a lottery. Being able to come to possess one is truly fortunate.”

Memories in his mind suddenly surged forth like a fountain. Ferocious Beast classifications were numerous.

For instance, ordinary Ferocious Beasts, Mix Blood Ferocious Beasts, Pure Blood Ferocious Beasts, plus Ancient Blood Ferocious Beasts, King Blood, and Primordial Ferocious Beasts.

Su Bai thought if the Tribe could possess more Ferocious Beast Crystals, their Tribe’s strength would greatly increase.

Indeed, Ferocious Beast Crystals were used to enhance a Totem Warrior’s strength.

However, this item was a rare commodity; not something everyone possessed. Therefore, Su Bai had not immediately recalled its existence.

“Lottery? Shaman, what’s a lottery? How does it relate to Ferocious Beast Crystals?” Yan Hua blinked her huge eyes innocently.

“Ha ha ha, it means very rare, not something everyone can encounter. Does our Tribe have any?” Su Bai asked.

“Regrettably, our Tribe hasn’t seen any. Apparently, the Spotted Deer Tribe’s Shaman possesses one, though I don’t know if it’s true.” Yan Hua struggled to digest the unfamiliar term she had just heard, also recalling the Spotted Deer Tribe.

“Oh? The Spotted Deer Tribe actually has one. This might explain their confident strength.” Su Bai smiled faintly.

He was not that concerned though. Ferocious Beast Crystals were icing on the cake for him, neither a necessity nor a threat.

After all, the Flame Dragon Tribe’s current weaponry was no joke. These weapons could already surpass some Tribes by several streets.

Naturally, dealing with Large Tribes remained somewhat strained. This was why Su Bai constantly had people forge more weapons.

“Shaman, since these Ferocious Beast Crystals enhance strength, why do I feel pain every time I use my Totem Power?”

Ban Ye could not help shuddering recalling that sensation. Without this limitation, he wouldn’t have been so passive in the forest.

“This is most likely due to incompatibility with you, yourself. You do have talent, though this might have been something the Ferocious Beast Crystal granted it to you.”

Su Bai considered momentarily, continuing, “Not everyone suits Ferocious Beast Crystals. Naturally, what suits each person differs. Having a Ferocious Beast Crystal doesn’t mean anyone can use it.”

These facts came from his memories. Still, he had to properly thank the Old Shaman.

Without him ultimately transmitting this related knowledge, he would be so confused right now.

“So that’s it. No wonder my body rejects it. Seems I’m truly incompatible with this Ferocious Beast Crystal.” Ban Ye smiled bitterly, staring at his chest for quite a while before slowly raising his head to ask, “Shaman, can the Ferocious Beast Crystal be taken out?”

Since it didn’t suit him, he should quickly remove this thing to avoid suffering.

“Possible. Extracting it is quite simple, though have you considered it properly?” Su Bai still needed to emphasise once more.

After all, this item was exceptionally rare and also belonged to the other party.

“I’m quite certain, Shaman. I beg you to do so,” Ban Ye bowed deeply.

He now only wanted to extract this damned burden, enabling him to properly use his Totem Power. Even if this item was amazing, it did not matter.

“Understood. Some preparations are needed. Go rest properly first.” Su Bai’s tone was quite calm. Sitting back in position, he said, “This will be an extremely taxing ceremony for you.”

“Yes, Shaman.” Ban Ye performed a bow before turning to leave.

Su Bai watched the other’s departing back, extracting paper and pen from a drawer to begin planning materials needed for tomorrow’s ceremony.

He thought to himself, [Eventually, I must devise some kind of method to save time on these procedures. Otherwise, doing them all the time would be too troublesome.]

For the future, not doing some unnecessary steps would be ideal.

“Shaman, what materials are needed? I’ll help you prepare them.” Yu Ying’s soft voice rang out.

“I’ll tell you once I’ve decided,” Su Bai said warmly.

“Alright.” Yu Ying replied.
