I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 419, Pink Flower Festival

Su Bai opened his eyes and went to the living room, ready for breakfast. Today’s daily check in Assistance Package was a packet of orange seeds.

Although it was not a crop, at least it was seeds. This was a great gift. In the Primitive Era, there were no oranges, which was a great fruit with tons of nutrients. Furthermore, orange peels could be used to make many things.

“Shaman, good morning. Come and have breakfast.” Yu Ying said with a smile. Several delicious dishes had already appeared on the table.

“What did you cook today?” Su Bai walked over with a smile.

“I cooked Wolf Tail Grass Noodle with tomatoes and eggs added.” Yu Ying swished her pink fox tail.

“Great, it will definitely be delicious.” Su Bai sat down and picked up his chopsticks, ready to eat the noodles.

Yan Hua blinked her red eyes and asked, “Shaman, today is the Tribe’s Pink Flower Festival, would you like to go and see?”

She regretted asking as soon as she finished. Her red eyes were lowered, and her expression looked unnatural.

The Pink Flower Festival was held by many Tribes, once a year, and all young men and women could participate. This Pink Flower Festival was equivalent to a major matchmaking event. No young men and women in the Tribe failed to look forward to this day.

In the current era, everyone already knew that relatives could not marry relatives. Or even distant relatives – such relations were also forbidden, because children born from such unions were often disabled or worse…

This was the result of their years of experience and painful lessons over the course of history, slowly proven with science.

At first, Humans did not know that unions between relatives would produce unhealthy children.

At that time, they only knew that having children was good, and as long as two people loved each other, they should be together.

But failure after failure taught them that such matters were not that simple.

It was precisely for this reason that they had the annual Pink Flower Festival. Since this was the season when Plateau Pink Flowers bloomed.

The place where young men and women would go was where Plateau Pink Flowers flourished, so that was why this annual festival was called the Pink Flower Festival.

With the arrival of the Pink Flower Festival, young men and women from surrounding Tribes would all gather on the plateau, and during this festival, they would choose partners they were satisfied with.

If a man chose a woman, then the woman from that Tribe would have to marry into the other Tribe. And if a woman from the Tribe chose a man from elsewhere, she would similarly have to marry into the other Tribe.

“Pink Flower Festival?” Su Bai was hearing about this festival for the first time.

“Shaman, the Pink Flower Festival is the Tribe’s annual…” Yu Ying explained in detail.

“Oh? There’s such a festival? This is the first time I’ve heard of it.” Su Bai found it quite interesting.

Hearing about this festival, he felt it was similar to the matchmaking events on Earth. There, many people matchmake in parks.

However, it had to be stated that those who attended were mostly elderly parents, sitting in parks with their children’s information. The person in question was typically not there as they were busy with work.

“Yes, Shaman, would you like to go and see?” Yan Hua raised her head to ask, then quickly lowered it again.

“Hahaha, this is a festival for the youths. Why would I go join? I won’t.” Su Bai laughed and shook his head.

At this moment, he had no intention of settling down. Currently, farming was his biggest plan. Moreover, he already had three or four beautiful women around him now, so why would he go join in this event?

Besides, no one knew what the girls at the Pink Flower Festival looked like, so he had no interest at all. Furthermore, he was a Tribe’s Shaman. It would be improper to rashly leave the Tribe to attend the Pink Flower Festival.

If people of the Tribe found out, he would lose his prestige. Also, if other Tribes discovered it, those girls would all flock to him.

No girl did not want to become a Shaman Priestess, especially for a Shaman as young, handsome, and well-built as Su Bai. Those girls would rush to him even more.

Just thinking about it, he found it extremely troublesome. It was better to stay in the Tribe with the others.

*Phew…* Yan Hua sighed in relief after hearing this and continued, “Yes, there’s nothing worth going to this festival for…”

Su Bai noticed Yan Hua’s slightly strange expression and understood what she meant.

He was not a blockhead. When Yan Hua asked about it, and showing such an expression, anyone could guess what she meant.

“Is the Shaman really not going to participate?” Yu Ying seemed quite happy.

Yu Ying had originally been a little nervous, but after hearing this answer, she immediately relaxed.

“I won’t go. Let the youths of the Tribe go.” Su Bai took a sip of tea.

“The Shaman is also very young. You’re certainly the youngest Shaman there is.” Sha Lan quickly said.

Sha Lan also seemed to relax a bit. Her appetite appeared to improve, and she began to eat more heartily.

“I have many things to do. I don’t have time to participate in this festival.” Su Bai smiled.

“Pink Flower Festival? Is this festival fun?” Co Co curiously asked.

“I don’t know. I haven’t gone there before, but from what I’ve heard from others who have gone, it seems interesting.” Yan Hua shook her head.

“Co Co, do you want to participate in the Pink Flower Festival? I think your age is just right to join.” Yu Ying asked.

Co Co shook her head without hesitation, firmly refusing. “I won’t go. I have many things to do too.”

She had been busy with experiments lately, sometimes even forgetting to eat. And at her age, she had no plans to settle down, so she was even less likely to participate in this festival.

“I see.” Yu Ying responded thoughtfully.

For a moment, the atmosphere at the dining table became a bit strange, and everyone suddenly grew quiet. The young women were all at suitable ages to attend the Pink Flower Festival, but everyone seemed very resistant to participate in the festival.

“Judging by your expressions, you all don’t want to go to this festival, huh?” Su Bai was the first to break the awkwardness.

“I won’t go. I want to stay with the Shaman for a very, very long time.” Yu Ying did not hide her inner thoughts at all.

“I don’t want to go either. This festival isn’t suitable for me. I think our Tribe is already the best place for me.” Yan Hua chimed in.

Actually, her inner thought was also that she did not want to leave the Shaman, but she was too shy to say it out loud.

“Me too. I’ve been so busy lately. I don’t have time to go. I also need to look after Ah’Hua.” Sha Lan immediately used Yan Hua as an excuse.
