I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 384, You Remember?

Su Bai first had people dig a channel of moderate depth in the open ground, then placed potato pieces evenly in the channel.

He originally wanted to let Yu Ying plant them directly, but after consideration, he realised she had never planted potatoes before, and it would be problematic if not done properly.

After thinking it through, he decided it would be more appropriate to do it himself. He could also check on the growth of tomatoes and the other crops while he was here.

After the potato pieces were evenly placed in the channel, Su Bai had people cover them with soil.

After covering them, he sprinkled a bit of water on top to maintain proper moisture.

“Shaman, is this good enough?” Yu Ying curiously asked.

“Yes, this is fine. Now, we wait for them to sprout and grow,” Su Bai nodded.

Yu Ying gave a nod, walked to where the potatoes were planted, and crouched down to carefully observe them.

Su Bai pondered for a moment and felt he should use Growth Acceleration Skill on them to greatly increase their growth speed.

After this thought, he extended both hands and began activating Growth Acceleration Skill. After the Shaman Runes formed, a faint purple light began to appear.

The purple light, as if being guided, began to penetrate into the soil. After one minute’s time, the previously dug channel began emitting a faint purple glow. The light radiated from beneath the ground.

If one were to dig up the potato pieces to look, they would see all the potato pieces wrapped in purple light.

“How beautiful.” Yu Ying repeatedly blinked.

She had already seen Su Bai use this Shaman Technique many times, so she had grown somewhat accustomed to it. However, Yan Hua and Sha Lan had rarely seen him use it, so they now watched with wide eyes, as if afraid to miss a single detail.

Co Co was the same, blinking her golden eyes and commenting, “This is a Shaman Technique? My memory tells me… that I’ve seen it before.”

“Yes, this is Shaman Technique.” Su Bai lowered his hands and asked. “Did you see someone use a similar Shaman Technique to this before?”

“Not the same, but… but similar,” Co Co seemed to be in great pain as she tried to remember something.

Her long golden hair fell to the ground as she crouched down holding her head, appearing to be in extreme pain.

Su Bai extended both hands to form Shaman Runes, and green light immediately appeared, flowing like clouds toward her.

His expression was serious as he said, “Relax. Don’t think too hard. If you can’t remember, don’t force yourself to remember.”

He thought of using his Curing Skill to help ease her discomfort, seeing how much pain she was in.

Co Co’s upper body was surrounded by green light, and her expression lightened – not in pain anymore. Her tightly furrowed brows began to relax somewhat, and her hands lowered from her head.

“I still… i still can’t remember anything…” Co Co sighed, looking dejected.

She really wanted to remember what had happened to her, but she just could not recall anything.

Previously when trying to remember, she would feel emptiness like the abyss. But now, trying brought real pain.

“It’s alright, let’s go back first and talk more later.” Su Bai said.

Co Co shook her head and forced a smile, saying, “It’s fine, I can still move.”

She did not want to delay everyone’s work. Moreover, she wanted to stay here longer. The scenery here was eye opening, with strange plants everywhere.

“Do you recognise any of the plants here?” Su Bai asked.

He wanted to see if she recognised any of the plants here, as perhaps these System-rewarded plants existed in other places.

Co Co surveyed the surroundings, carefully examining the plants before saying, “Some… some I recognise.”

“Really? Which ones?” Su Bai asked, as this was beyond his expectations.

“Those… those plants.” Co Co pointed at the herbs in the distance.

“Oh, those. I thought it might be tomatoes or sweet potatoes.” Su Bai nodded thoughtfully, then widened his black eyes slightly and continued asking, “Are you sure?”

“Yes yes, I recognise all of them,” Co Co responded without hesitation.

She was certain she had seen these plants before. Although her memory was lost, she immediately remembered upon seeing them.

“Aren’t these only found in our Hunting Ground? How do you know about them?” Yan Hua’s red eyes widened.

She was truly surprised. This was simply too incredible. She was certain these plants only existed in their Hunting Ground. In fact, that was what Uncle Cang Shi had said – when they gathered these plants. He told them they could gather more if they wanted, as they only existed in the Hunting Ground.

Su Bai was also surprised about this point and asked. “Could you be from our Hunting Ground?”

Sha Lan swayed her cat tail and said, “But there are no Tribes in the Hunting Ground.”

She had never heard her Mother mention this, as the Hunting Ground wholly belonged to the Flame Dragon Tribe, and almost no Tribes lived there.

Co Co looked confused, playing with her long golden hair as she said, “I remember there were many near our Tribe, so… so it’s normal.”

The blonde girl remembered this point clearly, these plants looked very familiar.

“Your Tribe had many of these nearby? Where is your Tribe? Do you remember something?” Su Bai asked.

He really wanted to know where she was from, as these plants were only found in the Hunting Ground.

“I still don’t know, I can’t remember,” Co Co shook her head.

She was only going by her fragmented memories. These things were merely familiar and she knew where they came from just by looking at them. However, for the exact location, she had no clue.

“I thought you might know. If you remember, tell me.” Su Bai nodded. [If she really is from the Hunting Ground, that would be an incredible discovery. This might even help with the Tribe’s development.]

Co Co furrowed her brows and nodded, “Alright, I’ll try my best. I also really want to remember what happened.”

Su Bai continued looking down at the tomatoes’ growth speed, as he had used Growth Acceleration Skill on them before.

The tomatoes were growing well, already reaching as tall as a calf.

If it were before, without using the Growth Acceleration Skill, they would have barely sprouted.

“Shaman, when can we eat the tomatoes?” Yu Ying asked.

“In about another week.” Su Bai said, seeing the tomatoes were almost ready to flower.

Plants treated with Growth Acceleration Skill would grow rapidly every day, this was something he had discovered by chance.

Originally, he had planned to use Growth Acceleration Skill again on the tomatoes the next day, but discovered the tomatoes had already grown considerably.

“Yay!” Yu Ying smiled and celebrated.
