The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1385: Chapter 1385: Disgusting is Right (3)

The statue of Monk Daoji in Daoji Hall closely resembles the legendary Ji Gong, dressed in tattered robes and holding a worn Banana Leaf Fan. Especially the phrase on either side which isn’t a proper couplet further confirms this, being the well-known: ”Meat and wine pass through the intestines, but Buddha remains in the heart.”

Everyone was extremely devout, not only bowing and offering incense, but also donating incense money according to their capabilities.

However, upon arriving at the courtyard of Daxiong Baodian, they saw the members of the Dong Family.

Dong Wenxiu’s brows immediately furrowed.

”Xiuxiu.” Dong Wenming hurried over.

”Big brother, sister-in-law.” Dong Wenxiu endured the discomfort and forced a smile.

Dong Ruoqiu, however, frowned and looked at Dong Wenxiu with a face full of caution, tightly gripping Yang Baiyue’s hand.

Yang Ruxin narrowed her eyes, actually she didn’t like this cousin, not because the cousin was unintelligent, but because she had always shown a clear rejection and defensiveness towards Dong Wenxiu, and she never properly called her aunt, like now, it seems she even understands the nature of Dong Wenxiu and Yang Baiyue’s relationship, which is rather interesting.

”Xiuxiu, we...”

”Big uncle.” Yang Ruxin didn’t wait for Dong Wenming to speak and quickly stepped forward, ”We were about to go to Daxiong Baodian to pay respects, you should hurry up too, the ceremony is about to start soon, and it’ll be delayed if you’re late.”

Dong Wenming swallowed the words he was going to say.

Yang Ruxin then nodded towards Dong Yushi as a gesture of attention, blatantly ignored Dong Ruoqiu, and pulled Dong Wenxiu into Daxiong Baodian.

Dong Ruoqiu might be mentally immature but she should understand basic manners, she’s not completely foolish, yet, it seems she has never properly called Dong Wenxiu ’aunt’, let alone called Yang Ruxin ’cousin’. So why bother greeting her?

Dong Ruoqiu pouted and then pulled Yang Baiyue forward, seeming pleased not to be with them.

Dong Wenming sighed, his brows deeply furrowed, helpless but to follow his daughter to the Hall of Heavenly Kings.

”Mother.” Yang Ruxin entered the Daxiong Baodian and glanced at Dong Wenxiu, ”There are some things that you must let go by yourself, otherwise, no one can help you.”

”Xinxin, I know, but...” Dong Wenxiu sighed, ”but that’s your father, and now he has become the cousin-in-law, this heart...” she took a breath, ”just thinking about it makes me feel disgustingly uncomfortable, seeing it makes my stomach churn... I was even afraid I would vomit just now, which would have insulted the Buddha...”

”Mother, feeling disgusted is normal, I feel disgusted too.” Yang Ruxin smiled, ”But, mother, it’s normal for someone to look alike. My father died, he died six years ago, and in these six years, you’ve been taking care of his children, slaving away for the Yang Family, you’ve honored your husband, while this man is Mo Wenjie...”

”Aunt Xiuxiu, Sister Xin is right, it’s not your fault, you shouldn’t punish yourself for others’ mistakes, right?” Yu Qingge also nodded, ”He abandoned you all for seeking wealth, but what about now? Sister Xin is the epitome of wealth now, he must regret it to death...”

After a long while, Dong Wenxiu took a deep breath and then nodded, ”You’re right, I’m not upset anymore, let’s not talk about these things in front of Buddha... come on, you also pay your respects, for safety...”
