The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1362: Chapter 1362: Health Exercise (4)

In the front hall, ninety-year-old Dong Fang never imagined that one day he would be able to walk out of his room on his own and travel so far to his cousin’s house. He always thought he would just lie there until one day he closed his eyes and never opened them again; however, he felt no regrets as, after all, he was ninety years old, an age akin to that of a fairy, and he was content.

But now, he was able to stand up, which filled him with immense joy. No matter how old he was, he wasn’t ready to pass away just yet; he wanted to live a bit longer.

Dong Xun was also pleased, ”Cousin, actually we should have had that girl come to see you instead of having you make the trip.”

”That’s not right,” Dong Fang waved his hand, ”My ability to come here shows how capable that girl is. Since she asked me to come, she must be confident in her medical skills...”

”Old master, it’s not that I am confident in my own medical skills, but in my master’s medical skills,” Yang Ruxin walked in smiling, ”Looking at the old master’s complexion, if you follow my instructions, living to a hundred won’t be a problem.” She didn’t know how else to address the old man, so she simply called him old master.

”Then I owe it all to the young lady’s blessing,” Dong Fang laughed, nodding at Yang Ruxin, ”She looks so much like Rongrong... almost like they were cast in the same mold...”

Yang Ruxin’s grandmother, Xiang Rongrong, was known by her maiden name.

”Yes, cousin, looking at this girl, it’s almost as if I see the scene when I first met Rongrong...” Dong Xun also sighed, ”Sadly, she didn’t live to see Xiuxiu return, nor did she get to see Ruxin...”

”In half a month, it will be Grandmother’s memorial day. At that time, Xin will kowtow to Grandmother, and she will see me and mother,” Yang Ruxin smiled, comforting Dong Xun, ”Also, you are both quite old now, the worst thing for you is extreme joy or sorrow. Starting from tomorrow, I will teach you a set of simple health exercises which you can perform whenever; they are good for extending life...”

”Health exercises?” Dong Fang glanced at Dong Xun, ”This is something new.”

”Actually, they are quite simple. The first step is abdominal breathing, breathe using your abdomen, inhale and your belly expands, exhale and it shrinks... Then pat the lower abdomen, with fingers together and palm in the air, circle from left to right... There are nine important meridians passing through the abdomen... This can nourish the body’s foundation and boost immune strength...”

”What is immune strength?”

”Immune strength is the body’s ability to fight off diseases; the stronger it is, the less likely you are to fall ill...”

Both old men nodded frequently, then followed Yang Ruxin in patting their abdomens, squatting, and even patting their thighs, quite busy and enjoying it.

Eventually, even Dong Xiang and Dong Wenchao, who had accompanied the old master, joined in.

About an hour later, they finally stopped. Everyone was sweating, and Yang Ruxin quickly had warm water brought to them, advising them not to drink tea after the exercises, but to drink a large glass of warm water instead as it helps with maintaining health...

After that, every morning, Dong Fang would stroll over and join Dong Xun in doing the exercises. Gradually, the group performing the exercises grew to over a dozen people.

Later, Yang Ruxin taught her grandfather several sets of exercises to share with others. The old man gathered a group of old men as apprentices, and they practiced vigorously every day—of course, that’s a story for another time.
