The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1370: Chapter 1370: Cheng Nuo Gets Hit (6)

Cheng Fofo had been stifling her frustration all afternoon. She was entangled with the thought of whether to tell the miss, but after all, her time with the miss was short. She didn’t want to cause the miss any trouble. Unexpectedly, the miss noticed something was off, and seeing the miss’s stern expression, Fofo finally couldn’t hold back, ”Miss, Xiaonuo was beaten by someone, and he is still unconscious...”

Yang Ruxin stood up abruptly, ”Such a serious matter occurred, why didn’t you speak up sooner?”

”I...” Cheng Fofo bit her lip.

”Take me to Xiaonuo first.” Yang Ruxin’s face was grim. Now was not the time to quibble about this, and she quickly got up and went outside.

After the siblings Cheng Nuo and Cheng Fofo came to the Dong Family, Fofo worked in the kitchen, while Cheng Nuo, being young and having previously excelled in his studies, was allowed by her grandfather to temporarily attend the Dong Family Clan School. The plan was for him to return to the county school when she came back.

The boy was supposed to take the Scholar examination last year, but because of an incident at home, it didn’t happen. Yang Ruxin wanted him to try again next year.

Since he was already twelve years old, the ancient custom of keeping boys and girls apart after seven was adhered to. Therefore, he didn’t live in Jinxiu Courtyard but stayed in an outer yard. Usually, he would come to see Yang Ruxin every other day to greet her. He was fine yesterday, but today, trouble arose.

In a side room of the front courtyard.

Cheng Nuo lay on the kang with a swollen face and a bruised nose, but he was feverish and unconscious at the moment. A servant named Moshu was using a cold compress on him to help reduce his temperature. Moshu was a servant from Dong Wenming’s study.

”Why didn’t you call for a doctor?” Yang Ruxin glanced at the servant.

”Replying to the miss, I just went to find him, but Doctor Li had been called away,” Moshu sighed, ”I waited for a long time and Doctor Li did not return, so I could only inform Sister Cheng. We couldn’t leave him alone here.”

Yang Ruxin exhaled and instructed them to continue with the cold compresses, then asked someone to bring strong alcohol, having Moshu rub it into Cheng Nuo’s body, focusing on the palms of his hands, the soles of his feet, and his armpits... After some time, the boy indeed felt less feverish. Then, she took out a silver needle and applied acupuncture to him, and placed a medicine pill into the young boy’s mouth...

Finally, the temperature dropped, and he slept peacefully.

”Apply this ointment to his wounds again in the morning.” Yang Ruxin handed a medicine box to Moshu, ”I’ll remember your kindness.”

”The miss modestly overpraises me. It was merely a helping hand and my duty to do so, especially since we have been living together these past few days,” Moshu quickly shook his head.

Yang Ruxin smiled and didn’t say anything further, only reminding him to immediately send someone to notify her if Cheng Nuo had another fever. Then, she returned to Jinxiu Courtyard.

”Thank you, miss,” said Cheng Fofo, her heart finally settling.

”Now, tell me what happened,” Yang Ruxin said as she took a half gulp of water from a cup.

”It was... it was the people from the school...” Cheng Fofo took a deep breath, ”They said Xiaonuo stole their silver...” As she spoke, tears started falling, ”Xiaonuo would never do such a thing...”

”Alright, I understand.” A cold light flashed in Yang Ruxin’s eyes. It seemed that not only did some members of the Dong Family need to be dealt with, but even the students from the Clan School had gone astray. If this was the case, then she wouldn’t mind teaching them a lesson as well. She was not even afraid of old fogies, let alone a bunch of brats. If they dared to lay a finger on her people, they needed to be prepared to face her wrath.
