The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1352: Chapter 1352: The Young Lady is in Trouble (6)

”Husband, flowers.” At this moment, Dong Ruoqiu ran over with a handful of wildflowers in hand, ”Beautiful... come pick flowers with me...”

Yang Baiyue was irritated and pushed Dong Ruoqiu away with disgust. Watching Dong Ruoqiu fall backwards, a thought flashed through his mind in an instant, and he hurriedly reached out to pull her back.

Dong Ruoqiu had originally cried out in surprise, attracting the attention of nearby servants, all dispatched by Dong Wenming to keep an eye on Yang Baiyue. However, what they saw was Yang Baiyue holding Dong Ruoqiu, so they were reassured.

After all, it had been three months, and the son-in-law had always been very kind to the young mistress.

Dong Ruoqiu thought her husband was playing with her, so her cry of surprise turned into laughter, clamoring for Yang Baiyue to join her in picking flowers, then she put them all on her head.

After drinking three prescriptions of medicinal soup, the Dong Wenming couple had nine days pass. Yang Ruxin, after taking their pulses, calculated Ya Family’s ovulation period and advised them to copulate three days later, which was the most likely time for conception.

Skeptical yet hopeful, they decided to follow the advice.

During this period, the porcelain shop closed down, and Dong Wenming hired a renovation team familiar with Yang Ruxin’s blueprints to begin the work, which was estimated to take twenty days to complete.

Yang Ruxin had a pot of chili peppers in her space, originally a trial to see if they would grow. Unexpectedly, after Old Ge cultivated the chili peppers, those in her space germinated and bore fruit too—and grew remarkably large, almost three or four times the size of those outside. As for the taste, although they had not yet been used in cooking, the mere scent indicated they were incredibly spicy; moreover, after one harvest, they could be collected again the next day, thus by the end of twenty days, the harvested chili peppers would be enough to support the grand opening of a hot pot restaurant.

”Xinxin, your aunt said she is inviting me to visit Lingyin Temple tomorrow,” Dong Wenxiu reported cheerfully after having lunch with Dong Xun at the Purple Bamboo Pavilion and returning to Jinxiu Courtyard. ”They say Lingyin Temple is very spiritual, and I want to go pray and get some amulets for you and your siblings...”

”Aunt Wenxiu, I want to go too,” Yu Qingge said excitedly, as she had been assisting Yang Ruxin with medicinal preparation these days and managed to tour the streets a few times, but the prospect of visiting the famed Lingyin Temple was still very appealing.

”Then let’s go together,” Yang Ruxin nodded. ”After returning, we can take a boat trip on West Lake...”

”Great!” Yu Qingge was thrilled. ”I also want to see the Broken Bridge where Lady White Snake and Xu Xian met...”

Dong Wenxiu laughed; she had been in Hangzhou for some time, dining and chatting with her father and elder brother daily, and knew how bustling and beautiful Hangzhou was. She had also heard about the long-held legend of the White Snake and admittedly was quite curious to see Leifeng Tower—whether a white snake really was suppressed underneath it.

However, before dinner that day, the Manager from the distant estate, who happened to be the servant in charge of watching over Yang Baiyue, stumbled back in a panic: ”Master, Madam, something terrible has happened to the young mistress...”

Yang Ruxin looked up; she certainly knew that the young mistress referred to Dong Ruoqiu, and it seemed that Yang Baiyue could not restrain himself any longer. Poor cousin Ruoqiu, probably being used as a stepping stone for his return. She just hoped it would not endanger her life.

”What’s wrong?” Inquired the Ya Family, startled. ”What happened to Qiuqiu?”

”The young mistress insisted on riding today, and as a result, she fell from the horse and lost consciousness, and the son-in-law, attempting to save her, broke his arm...”
