The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1034: Chapter 1034: Restraint is Just Pretentious (41)

”So you’re saying, if it were a different time, you’d have agreed?” Gu Qingheng’s face immediately lit up with joy.

”Change what? A midnight proposal has its own unique charm, I agreed.” Yang Ruxin hooked her finger under his chin, ”Such a handsome man, if I don’t hurry and say yes, what if someone else snatches you away?” While speaking, she also pinched his face, marveling at how incredibly smooth his skin was.

”Exactly, exactly,” Gu Qingheng nodded eagerly, looking adorably agreeable, ”So, Xinxin, you have to grab me tight and never let go...”

Yang Ruxin burst into laughter, ”Enough, let’s sleep. I’m sure someone is bound to come knocking early tomorrow, and as the head of the household, it wouldn’t look good if I don’t get out of bed...”

”Okay,” Gu Qingheng nodded, kissed Yang Ruxin’s cheek, ”Good night.”

However, that night, Gu Qingheng couldn’t sleep. He indeed wanted to marry Xinxin as soon as possible, but worried that if he really had to go to the battlefield and something happened to him, what would happen to Xinxin then?

So he spent the night in such turmoil until dawn broke.

Yang Ruxin didn’t sleep well either; she thought a lot. She knew Gu Qingheng truly cared for her and understood that he must be conflicted, so she decided to completely cut off his worries.

At breakfast, Yang Ruxin held everyone back, ”I have something to tell you.”

All eyes turned to look at her.

”I’m planning to marry Gu Qingheng,” Yang Ruxin got straight to the point,

”Xinxin...” Gu Qingheng stood up in surprise.

The rest were also shocked at her announcement. Wasn’t this a bit too hasty?

”What’s the matter? You all don’t agree? Or you don’t agree?” Yang Ruxin slightly raised her eyebrows.

”Big sister, it’s not that we don’t agree, you just took us by surprise.” Sanni let out a sigh, ”Isn’t it proper for the groom to send a matchmaker to propose? This is a bit too bold...”

”If I were demure, would you all be eating white flour dumplings right now?” Yang Ruxin dismissed the idea with a wave of her hand, ”Demureness can sometimes be just pretentiousness.” Pointing at Gu Qingheng’s face, she said, ”Take a look at his face, such a man-magnet. If I don’t secure my status quickly, what if someone tries to make a move? Once we’re married, I’ll have every right to fight off love rivals...”

”Sis, so dominant,” Yu Qingge suddenly cheered, ”I’m rooting for you!”

Erni and Sanni just couldn’t help but facepalm, finding it hard to look directly at their big sister’s antics.

Gu Qingheng felt his heart warm, she must be saying all this to ease his worries, right? He hurriedly glanced at Xun Hui, ”Auntie Hui, I want to marry Xinxin...”

Gu Yao bowed his head, feeling somewhat emotional. He too had heard the news from the north and might soon be called to the front lines, so he couldn’t help but glance at Erni.

Erni happened to look over as well, and upon getting caught, her face instantly flushed as she lowered her gaze.

Xun Hui was a little confused but then naively nodded, ”Okay.”

Madam Feng suddenly burst into tears.

”Madam Feng, are you not happy?” Yang Ruxin frowned slightly.

”Xinxin, don’t misunderstand, Madam Feng is happy, our eldest...the eldest young master is finally getting married.” Madam Feng quickly waved her hands, ”I’m really so happy...” Madam in heaven must be watching.

”Madam Feng, you gave me quite the scare.” Yang Ruxin exaggeratedly patted her chest, ”I’d be so upset if my mother-in-law didn’t agree...”

Looking at Yang Ruxin’s dramatic expression, Madam Feng broke into a smile through her tears, ”You, you rascal...”
