The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1021: Chapter 1021: The Final Fray (28)

As it turned out, although Number Nine was indeed formidable, it still was no match for Xiaohei. After a few rounds, Xiaohei had grabbed it and thrown it to the ground.

Yang Ruxin had only ever dealt with animals such as cats and dogs before, and knew that animals are actually quite intelligent. After arriving in this era, and having interactions with Dabai, Xiaobai, Xiaolun, Xiaohei and the like, their intelligence seemed to be on par with that of humans.

Watching those eagles now, they appeared quite clever, like Number Nine, for example. After clashing a few times with Xiaohei and realizing that it couldn’t gain the upper hand—and having lost a lot of feathers to its opponent’s claws, even sustaining peck wounds—it began to emit cries of surrender.

Xiaohei, however, showed mercy; at least Number Nine, after being thrown, was able to stand up again and wasn’t dead.

The people around were dumbfounded. Was Number Six really that powerful?

Yang Ruxin smiled. After this fellow had settled into his home and got familiar with Dao Xuzi, he had eaten quite a few of the old man’s Medicine Pills. If he had lost, it would have been quite embarrassing.

Xiaohei’s victory turned Yang Ruxin’s one thousand taels of Silver into three thousand two hundred taels. Because there were fewer bets, the odds were four to one, and after deducting a twenty percent commission, this was what remained.

Looking at the silver note in his hand, Yang Ruxin shook his head helplessly. No wonder so many people were addicted to gambling; with a bit of good luck in winning, it was indeed much faster than earning money any other way.

The next two matches also ended swiftly, and the final five contenders were Number One, Number Three, Number Six, Number Seven, and Number Eight.

Before the last fight, it was finally announced that this year’s victor would receive a bonus of eighty thousand taels.

Upon hearing this, the owners of the top five candidates immediately became eager to try their luck.

”Let me tell you, with my Black Overlord here, all your so-called ’Generals’ are only fit to lie down...” Hao Jian was very smug, the first time he could be so proud and elated.

”Hao Fatty, don’t be too cocky. It’s not yet certain whose deer will die,” Jiang Lilei replied unconvinced, snorting, ”Winning one match means nothing. Talk after you’ve won them all.” Although Beast had withdrawn from the competition, he genuinely didn’t believe that Hao Fatty could actually beat him, even though his black eagle did look quite impressive.

”Just don’t cry and say I didn’t warn you later...” Hao Fatty curled his lip and then turned around to return to his seat. He instructed someone to take out some treats to feed Xiaohei, ”Black Overlord, show them your might later, and don’t hold back...”

The odds for the final showdown had reached ten to one.

Yang Ruxin bet another five thousand taels on Xiaohei to win.

After placing the bets, the final battle began.

Five eagles entered the cage, and Xiaohei didn’t seem in a hurry at all, perching to one side as if saying, you all fight first, and I’ll finish the job. But the other four didn’t seem stupid either, and in the end, three of them even teamed up to jointly attack Xiaohei.

And it appeared that Number Eight was somewhat schadenfreude.

Upon seeing the situation, Xiaohei got angry. Thinking to gang up on him with their numbers? Then he would show them the might of the Overlord. So, he soared with a swoosh. With a flap of his large wings, he stirred up a gale that actually hampered the attack speed of the three. While they were adjusting their speed, Xiaohei had already begun his assault...

Outside, the crowd could only see that large black shadow flickering across the cage in an instant, turning into a streak of black light. Then, a cry of an eagle was heard, and the shadow stopped. The three that had attacked before now fell to the ground one after another, all with broken wings without exception...
