The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1003: Chapter 1003: Chili (10)

”Red fruit?” Yang Ruxin blinked, but quickly came to terms with it. In the past, this thing existed merely as an ornamental plant, with its bright red fruits, so calling it ’red fruit’ did fit the bill.

Gu Qingheng nodded, ”As soon as you mentioned it, I thought of this.”

”Was it you who reminded him?”

”Yes.” Gu Qingheng nodded, ”Actually, I had a pot of it before, always kept in my study. The red brightened up the room, and it seemed to not attract mosquitoes...”

”Gu Qingheng.” Yang Ruxin grabbed Gu Qingheng’s arm, ”Listen to me, now with this, it’s like having a money tree. As long as we can cultivate it, it will be able to replace Cornus officinalis. No, not replace, but surpass it. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that it could even start a new era of cuisine...” In modern times, Sichuan cuisine was absolutely popular all over the country, and there was a saying that when two people on a date didn’t know what to eat, Sichuan cuisine would never be turned down.

Seeing Yang Ruxin’s eagerness, Gu Qingheng couldn’t help but chuckle, ”I believe you, but how do we cultivate it?” He was not deeply familiar with farming.

Yang Ruxin shook her head, ”I don’t know how, but there must be someone who does. We’ll just have to consult more with those old farming experts; there’s bound to be someone who can figure it out... I’ll take this to my room first, it’s too precious...”

Sitting in her room, looking at the chili peppers, Yang Ruxin suddenly thought of her personal space, so she plucked two chili peppers and went into her space.

There were no flowerpots in the space, but there were pots, so she went to the ginseng plot and got two pots of soil. She tore open one of the chili peppers, scattering the white seeds on the soil, and then watered it. She buried the seeds from the other one in the soil and watered them before placing them under the pear tree.

Whether they would germinate or not, she would have to wait and see.

In the space, the woman brought from the mountains lay quietly as before. However, Yang Ruxin had cleaned her up, changed her clothes, and combed her hair, so she didn’t look as frightening anymore.

”Senior, I don’t have time to go to Quanzhou for now, so you’ll have to wait a bit longer.” Yang Ruxin smiled, ”But rest assured, I will keep my promise. I’ve already sent people to inquire about your Brother Tianlin...”

The woman did not seem to know if she was conscious or not, but the corners of her mouth appeared to curl up slightly.

Not daring to linger too long, Yang Ruxin quickly left the space, glanced at the pot of chili peppers, and steeled her heart. She plucked four more peppers. When she was tearing the peppers in the space earlier, she could sense the strong flavor, exactly the taste she was looking for. Therefore, she decided to use them to cook a few dishes for everyone to try today.

The others had already finished distributing the gifts outside. The rouge and face powder were gifts for Xun Hui and the Feng Family, while she received a rather pretty liuli box suitable for storing jewelry.

”Gu Yao, have you ever seen large transparent liuli in Beijing?” Yang Ruxin asked as she looked at the box and remembered glass.

Gu Yao shook his head, ”Such large pieces of transparent liuli are only available overseas and can be bought from merchant ships,” Gu Qingheng explained, ”Because they’re fragile and difficult to transport, those that make it here are very expensive and the quantity is limited...”

Yang Ruxin nodded with resignation. It looked like her dream of using glass windows would have to be postponed. Then she put it out of her mind and set about cooking with the chili peppers.
