The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 1019: Chapter 1019: A Walk-on Role (26)

”Even just a tiny bit off would do,” Yu Qingge raised her hand to gesture, ”just a tiny bit, okay? It can’t be too different...”

”Alright, I’ll definitely keep an eye out for you,” Yang Ruxin felt her head ache, ”It’s getting late, hurry up and go to sleep.”

”About that...” Yu Qingge took a glance around the room and suddenly sighed, ”Sis, I’ve realized that you are the one who naturally has the aura of a heroine, while I can’t even count as a supporting character, I’m just an extra...”

”Extras are also essential for the plot. Back in the day, Zhou Xingchi started out as an extra, too...”

”I know,” Yu Qingge nodded, ”After meeting you, maybe I’ll encounter a plot that turns me into the heroine. So, I’m not in a hurry...” Then she waved her hand, ”I’m off, oh, and by the way, we don’t provide Durex here, so... take it easy.”

”Been watching too many Japanese films?” Yang Ruxin raised her hand and tapped the other’s forehead again, ”Hurry up and sleep.” This kid’s just a playful troublemaker.

With that, Yu Qingge pulled a face, then went back to her room, albeit reluctantly.

At last, the night passed without incidents.

The next morning, Yang Ruxin opened her eyes in Gu Qingheng’s arms.

”Awake?” Gu Qingheng had been awake for a while, but he hadn’t moved because he didn’t want to wake her up. Seeing her eyes open, he immediately gave her a good morning kiss, ”Get up, wash up, and have breakfast. We need to set off soon. It’s an hour’s drive from here to the Eagle Fighting Arena.”

Perhaps it was arranged by Yu Qingge; the inn provided a very hearty breakfast.

Yang Ruxin wondered why the little girl hadn’t come over to eat with them, only to learn from the servant boy that their young mistress had gone out.

Yang Ruxin didn’t say much about it; after all, they would still be returning to stay the night.

Since they were going to watch eagle fighting, a place not suitable for girls, Yang Ruxin changed into men’s clothes.

The Eagle Fighting Arena was situated on an open space to the south of Prefectural City and, due to the competition, the area was cordoned off, requiring tickets for entry and exit.

By now, there were already quite a few people there, with numerous carriages parked on the surrounding open ground.

Yang Ruxin and Gu Qingheng entered the arena and discovered that many people were already seated; their seats were not in the front but also not at the back, in a middle position.

The competition was set to begin in about half an hour’s time.

The competitors had also gradually made their way into the arena showing off their eagles, but all the birds had chains on their feet since eagles were not sparrows, and they could easily hurt someone if not careful.

After several days of pandering, Xiaohei had finally agreed to perch on Hao Fatso’s shoulder, so he swaggered into the arena, shaking as he walked. Xiaohei’s feet had no chains, but there was a symbolic rope tied to them. There was no choice; not tying a rope meant no entry and no participation in the competition.

Upon entering the arena, Xiaohei immediately spotted Yang Ruxin and instinctively wanted to fly over to greet her, but as soon as it tried to take flight, it realized its feet were bound and remembered it had a competition to partake in, so it had to give up the idea.

Such events are usually organized by gambling houses, so betting was allowed on the spot.

This display was to let everyone get a general idea about the eagles; betting would start fifteen minutes before each match, and once it began, it ended, with wins and losses settled on the spot.

After the display was over, the competition was about to begin.

A few young men pushed a very large iron cage into the middle of the arena.
