The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

247: Chapter 247 Adding Flowers to BrocadeHan Jingyang couldn’t help but be suspicious.

The inconspicuous little bottle in his hand was of extraordinary value from any perspective.

Its size wasn’t large, but the craftsmanship was complex and exquisite.

It was Glass-body Cloisonné Enamel.

What was a Glass-body?

It was actually glass, or colored glaze. In the Qing Dynasty, it was already very close to modern glass, but it was purely handmade. When crafted into exquisite handicrafts, its appearance could almost rival the finest porcelain or jade. Moreover, glass had high plasticity and was compatible with many types of craftsmanship.

It could be made into vessels alone.

Dyes could be added inside the body to make vessels.

Writing or painting could also be done on the inner and outer layers of the vessel.

Enamel craftsmanship could also be applied to make vessels.

In a word, if you could think it, it could be done.

Glass-body handicrafts held a very important position in the history of handicrafts from the Qing Dynasty to modern times.

Not to mention Glass-body Cloisonné Enamel; even if the workmanship was average, the price wasn’t low, because the combination of a Glass-body and Cloisonné Enamel required an extremely high level of craftsmanship that ordinary artisans couldn’t achieve.

Therefore, during the Qing Dynasty and the Republican period, Glass-body Cloisonné Enamel handicrafts were fine items that only high-ranking officials, nobles, and large to medium-sized merchants could afford.

Nowadays, any Glass-body Cloisonné Enamel piece in perfect condition on the antique market had a market price in the six figures.

If the craftsmanship, patterns, and decorations were slightly more exquisite, it would start at half a million.

If there were highlights on top of that, it could easily sell for one or two million.

People in the industry knew this well.

So, when Han Jingyang saw the Glass-body Cloisonné Enamel Long-Necked Bottle with Adding Flowers to Brocade Pattern in his hand, his first reaction was suspicion.

He suspected it was a trap.

But the Old Man looked like an ordinary person; his fortune looked good, and his aura was upright—not a bad person.

However, this was even stranger.

Who in the industry didn’t know the value of Cloisonné Enamel?

Even a novice should know that Cloisonné Enamel was worth a fortune.

Unless this Old Man didn’t treat this Cloisonné Enamel Long-Necked Bottle as an antique at all.

Whatever.

Secure it first.

This little bottle was not only a masterpiece but could also be appraised.

As long as the price wasn’t too outrageous, it wouldn’t be a loss.

Thinking this, he casually asked, ”How much for this little bottle?”

”This? Just give what you think is right; whatever you can give is fine.”

”Are you sure?”

”Of course. I might not trust others, but I can certainly trust you, Mr. Han.”

Han Jingyang smiled.

This Old Man was interesting.

Although his mind was cunning, his words were indeed pleasant to hear.

Letting me set the price?

He’s certain that I won’t suppress the price too hard!

However, I won’t be fooled.

In business, one cannot be soft-hearted, whether selling or buying.

Otherwise, there will be plenty of trouble.

So, he held up his palm: ”This amount.”

The Old Man’s eyes widened: ”Fifty thousand?”

”What are you thinking? Five thousand.”

”Five thousand, huh? Hehe, that’s not bad either. Fine, five thousand it is.”

”Transfer?”

”Sure, green or blue is fine.”

Han Jingyang transferred five thousand yuan, picked up the little bottle, and returned directly to the shop.

Shi Xiaoya quickly approached: ”Did you just pick up a bargain as soon as you stepped out?”

Han Jingyang looked back at the Old Man outside the door and nodded: ”A huge bargain.”

”Hubby’s luck is truly beyond words; joy greets you the moment you step out.”

”I always feel it’s not that simple.”

”What do you mean? Is there a pit?”

”I don’t know if it’s a pit, but there will inevitably be loose ends,” Han Jingyang scanned the shop’s field and various auras; they were all stable. Skills like ”Bringing Wealth and Treasure” hadn’t been activated either; logically, he shouldn’t have such good luck.

Although the Dongying Silver Dollar added to the luck attribute, it wasn’t much—better than nothing, but it couldn’t have such a strong effect.

And there were simply too many coincidences.

First, he had never seen that Old Man before.

Second, it was the first time that Old Man had set up a stall at the entrance of Jiguang Zhai.

Third, the Old Man was too enthusiastic; there wasn’t even a bargaining phase. He directly asked for an offer and accepted five thousand without asking for a cent more.

This was very outrageous.

However, now that the item was in his hands, it didn’t matter what the Old Man’s background or purpose was; the initiative was in his hands.

So Han Jingyang appraised it directly.

”Name: Qing Dynasty Qianlong Glass-body Cloisonné Enamel Long-Necked Bottle with Adding Flowers to Brocade Pattern.”

”Grade: Rank 5.”

”Attribute: Fortune +8.”

”Skill: Adding Flowers to Brocade.”

Good stuff!

Han Jingyang was overjoyed.

Buying such a treasure for five thousand yuan—how was this different from a business with no capital?

With this grade, these attributes, and this skill, the selling price would be at least ten million.

Even without the skill, just the ”Fortune +8” attribute alone could fetch three to five million.

Fortune.

Who wouldn’t want it?

The wealthier the person, the stronger the effect of such attributes.

If an ordinary family placed such a thing in their home, the effect on the owner would at most be a salary raise, a bonus, finding some money, or winning ten thousand or so in the lottery.

But for business people, it was different. Fortune +8 might seem like a small increase, but it could very likely lead to a deal because of that slight boost, and the profit from each deal could be an amount an ordinary family couldn’t earn in decades.

Not to mention there was also a skill.

Adding Flowers to Brocade—the effect of this skill was very powerful; it could make the target’s fortune even better.

For example, if you found money when going out today, activating this skill would give a high probability of finding some again.

Eh, this skill is quite interesting.

Han Jingyang’s interest was piqued.

My luck today is already very good. Not only did I harvest a lot at the Yaowang Mansion antique market earlier, but I also picked up such a huge bargain at my doorstep after returning.

If I activate the ”Adding Flowers to Brocade” skill again, does it mean I can pick up another bargain?

Let’s try!

Thinking of this, Han Jingyang activated it directly.

The next second.

A green light emerged from the Long-Necked Bottle, condensing into a piece of brocade in the air before him.

The brocade unfurled like a scroll, revealing exquisite colorful patterns. The decorations were refined and the colors brilliant, truly a masterpiece of divine craftsmanship.

But it didn’t end there. After the colorful brocade unfurled, a pair of invisible hands threaded needles through the surface, embroidering blooming flowers one after another, each one large, full, and lifelike.

Exquisite beyond compare.

Lifelike.

Sumptuous and grand.

It was as auspicious as could be.

It interpreted the four words ”Adding Flowers to Brocade” to the fullest.

Brocade itself was a type of silk fabric with exquisite patterns, which could be used directly to make high-end clothing and decorations. In large-scale transactions in ancient times, it even had monetary attributes, similar to gold, and was of extremely high value.

Embroidering even more beautiful flowers on brocade—wasn’t this just adding excellence to excellence?

Embroidery was a more advanced craft than weaving. Textiles with embroidery were already valuable, and doing embroidery on brocade, which was already valuable itself, doubled the worth.

Adding Flowers to Brocade.

Its meaning was exactly as the words suggested.

Han Jingyang snapped out of the exquisite skill animation effects and walked straight out the door.

Shi Xiaoya and Liu Jing didn’t know what Han Jingyang wanted to do and hurriedly followed.

Then, the two saw that at the moment Han Jingyang stepped out, the Old Man setting up the stall at the door stood up, pulled a small object out of his pocket, and waved at Han Jingyang: ”Mr. Han, I have another small item here that I almost forgot. Why don’t you take another look?”
