The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

233: Chapter 233 Long-Term PlanHan Jingyang and Monk Kongyun agreed on the various matters for assisting in the fight, and only then did he breathe a sigh of relief: ”Big Monk, you are well-informed, why don’t you tell me about the big and small events in the Quancheng metaphysics circle?”

Monk Kongyun asked in return: ”Don’t you know yourself?”

”How many people in the industry do I even know? Where would I find out?”

”But you are the person involved.”

”You mean...”

”Yes, all those good deeds you’ve done, especially that business with Tian Chunming, it shocked everyone in the circle.”

”Shocked?”

”More than just shocked, it was astonishing. Tian Chunming is quite famous, his strength is universally acknowledged to be formidable, and he has enemies everywhere, yet no one could ever deal with him. It’s only in recent years that he’s kept a low profile, to the point where some thought he was old and lacked combat power. Who would have thought he was hiding in Quancheng, and even planning to stir up big trouble? If it weren’t for you, that old guy would probably still be making waves.”

”So, I can be considered a benefactor to some people then?”

”You could say that, but whether they acknowledge it is a different matter.”

”Fine, since you put it that way, I won’t expect anyone to be eternally grateful to me, but...”

”But what?”

”Tian Chunming is not dead.”

”Wasn’t he crippled?”

”Yes, he lost both arms and was stabbed in the chest, but he didn’t die. He was rescued by people from the Qunying Society.”

Monk Kongyun’s expression changed drastically, and he stood up abruptly: ”Qunying Society?”

”Yes.”

”Are you sure?”

”It was Zhang Zhiyang from the Bureau of Religious Affairs—no, wait, the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee—who told me. It should be true, right?”

Han Jingyang looked at Monk Kongyun’s expression, and his heart also felt a little uneasy.

When I heard Zhang Zhiyang say it before, I didn’t take it too seriously.

But looking at the Big Monk’s reaction, this matter is probably not that simple.

What kind of organization is the Qunying Society, anyway?

To be able to scare Monk Kongyun like this?

It seems I need to be careful in the future.

I cannot underestimate this organization that sounds a bit pretentious.

To be able to make Monk Kongyun lose his composure, this organization must have something extraordinary; either they are very powerful, very difficult to deal with, or very ruthless...

In any case, they are not to be trifled with.

Damn it.

If I had known, I should have gone all-in, used all my items and skills to completely finish off Tian Chunming.

Sigh, I was too hesitant at the time.

I was always thinking about keeping some trump cards for self-defense and backup.

What a pity.

However, things have reached this point, there’s nothing to be said. Improving my strength as quickly as possible is the true path.

Once my strength reaches a certain level, who cares about the Qunying Society or whatever other society, I will just bulldoze through everything; if people block me, I kill them, if gods block me, I kill them.

Thinking of this, Han Jingyang said to Monk Kongyun: ”No need to panic, it’s just an illegal organization, what’s there to be afraid of?”

Monk Kongyun smiled bitterly: ”What’s there to be afraid of? You haven’t witnessed how formidable the Qunying Society is.”

”How formidable?”

”Formidable to the point where the authorities can’t do anything about them.”

”Not a single way?”

”Yes, until now, we only know that such an organization exists. We don’t even know the founders, core members, or the organizational structure. We only know that this organization is closely related to the metaphysics circle and has committed many tragic cases.”

”More ruthless than Tian Chunming?”

”It’s not the same nature. Tian Chunming is a lone wolf, very powerful, but in terms of danger, it’s actually just like that; he only comes out to roam around every few years. But the Qunying Society is different. They can commit several cases in different cities on the same day. They are a pack of wolves, extremely dangerous.”

Han Jingyang frowned: ”Are you sure it was them?”

Monk Kongyun nodded: ”Every time they commit a case, they leave their mark at the crime scene.”

”A mark? What kind?”

”A gold-inlaid jade business card, with a pattern and the three characters ’Qunying Society’ printed on it,” Monk Kongyun sighed: ”I know what you are thinking, but it’s unlikely to be copycats or imitation, because the production process of this business card is quite complex and sophisticated. Ordinary people can’t imitate it even if they want to, and there’s no need for ordinary people to imitate it. Imitating the Qunying Society is equivalent to provoking both the Qunying Society and the authorities simultaneously; only a fool would do that.”

Han Jingyang frowned slightly.

At the scene where Tian Chunming was rescued, no such business card was found.

Did we not notice?

Or was this matter not worth the Qunying Society leaving a business card?

How did Zhang Zhiyang and the others know that it was the Qunying Society who rescued Tian Chunming?

This matter... is probably not that simple.

Han Jingyang sighed in his heart.

Truly, once one enters the world of martial arts, it is as deep as the sea. Even though I didn’t want to get involved in those messy matters, I just couldn’t avoid it.

As for the current plan, I can only meet force with force and water with earth.

Improving strength is the long-term plan.

Thinking this, he nodded to Monk Kongyun: ”I know about this matter now. However, Big Monk, your Buddhist disciples are all over the world, surely you must know some inside information, right? Care to share?”

Monk Kongyun shook his head repeatedly: ”No, no, although there are many Buddhist disciples, most are ordinary people. Moreover, Thousand Buddha Mountain is not considered a famous mountain or river, and our Huguo Temple is not a famous sect either; for many years, it has been passed down through a single lineage. How could we have such great influence? We just have the advantage of being close to Quancheng.”

”Really none?”

”Really none.”

Han Jingyang shrugged: ”We will have many opportunities to deal with each other in the future. If you don’t say it now, you will say it later.”

Monk Kongyun chuckled: ”Then we’ll talk about it later.”

”Then come down the mountain with me to pick up the goods?”

”I’ll go say hello to my master.”

”Please.”

Monk Kongyun stood up, pressed his palms together, and walked quickly into the abbot’s zen room in the backyard, knocking on the door: ”Master, it’s me.”

”Come in,” Monk Delin sat cross-legged, his eyes slightly closed: ”What did Han Jingyang say?”

”He invited me to go down the mountain to assist in the fight. Master, Huang Jianyong really did leave a treasure for Han Jingyang.”

”As expected. Huang Jianyong chose to end his own life, and before doing so, he entrusted his family to Han Jingyang. Although he trusted Han Jingyang, he also had to provide enough benefits. Everyone knows that Han Jingyang is the type who won’t let go of the hawk until he sees the rabbit. It’s just unexpected that Han Jingyang would go to retrieve the treasure so soon. It’s only been a few days since that happened, and there are quite a few people eyeing Huang Jianyong’s legacy.”

”I suspect he was scared by Tian Chunming. Although he successfully severed Tian Chunming’s two arms, he and his shop assistant almost died too. He probably wants to improve his strength as soon as possible.”

”Hmm, it’s not hard to guess the thoughts of this person named Han Jingyang. Although his origins are mysterious, his behavioral habits and thoughts are very easy to see through. However, do not underestimate him, and even more so, do not touch his bottom line. This kind of person who seems ordinary but has some principles can occasionally be unreasonable after mastering powerful strength.”

”I know, Master, but after I go down the mountain, to what extent should I help him?”

”You handle that yourself. In critical moments, prioritize saving your own life. Also, don’t be afraid to take advantage of him; bargain with him as much as you can. He is just a businessman, you can bargain with him. As long as he doesn’t shortchange or cut corners after the deal is reached, you can get along happily.”
