The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

228: Chapter 228 Pure Gold Guanyin Statue”Give it away? Just give it away for free?”

Han Jingyang nodded without a second thought. ”Fine, it’s yours. You made a huge contribution yesterday, so consider this your bonus. Does this thing weigh two jin?”

Shi Xiaoya beamed with joy. ”At least two kilograms.”

Two kilograms of pure gold—the value of this is not low.

Based on the current pure gold market, the total value is around 1.5 million, enough to trade for an apartment in downtown Quancheng.

However, compared to the contribution Shi Xiaoya made, that really is nothing.

Therefore, Han Jingyang was very straightforward. ”Two kilograms it is. But let me take a look—if it can undergo Consecration, that would be even better.”

”Thank you, Boss.” Shi Xiaoya handed the golden Bodhisattva to Han Jingyang.

Han Jingyang took the golden Bodhisattva with both hands, and his hands still sank slightly from the weight. The heft of this object exceeded his expectations.

This was because he hadn’t had much contact with pure gold products.

Only after actually holding it did he realize that this thing was indeed very heavy. It didn’t look large in size, but its weight was no joke.

It was truly worthy of being crafted from pure gold.

He examined it from top to bottom.

He nodded in satisfaction. ”This golden Bodhisattva is really nice. Putting the material aside, the carving is truly beautiful. It’s purely handmade, shaped by hammering piece by piece, then ground and polished. The style is also good—it’s not the standard, rigid upright posture, but incorporates changes. Look at how the head is slightly tilted, leaning just a bit to the left. Yet, with the embellishment of the headwear and earrings, it suddenly gains a sense of liveliness, as if the overall image has come to life.”

”Look at the clothing; it’s not the style of any single dynasty. On the contrary, it’s more modern, blending the naturalness of the Five Dynasties and the elegance of the Song Dynasty. The overall feel is more in line with modern aesthetics. This design is very bold; if one isn’t careful, it could easily turn into a monstrosity.”

”Therefore, the market value of this golden Bodhisattva standing statue is far more than around 1.5 million. It could easily sell for two million. If it goes to auction, three or four million is possible. It’s just like jadeite; no matter how good the raw material is, it only has that much value. But once carved, the transaction price doubles at least. The better the carving, the higher the price. After all, with art pieces, eighty percent of the value depends on the design and carving. So, you have a really good eye.”

Shi Xiaoya smiled until her eyes curved into crescents. ”Really? Thank you, Boss, thank you, Boss.”

Han Jingyang smiled. ”Don’t be in such a rush; this thing still has a mystery to it.”

Shi Xiaoya reacted extremely quickly, her eyes instantly lighting up. ”Can it undergo Consecration?”

”Yes,” Han Jingyang nodded slightly. ”But the specific effect and grade will have to wait.”

”Thank you, Boss.”

Han Jingyang nodded slightly and turned to look at Liu Jing. ”What about you? Is there anything you like?”

Liu Jing hurriedly shook her head. ”I didn’t help much yesterday, so I shouldn’t take anything.”

”Don’t say such distant things in the future. We are a team; we just have different divisions of labor. You didn’t charge into battle yesterday, but you weren’t idle either. Besides, there will be times in the future when you are the one charging into battle while Shi Xiaoya does other, easier tasks. If you don’t accept anything now, won’t it be awkward for Shi Xiaoya to accept things later?”

”Right, right, right,” Shi Xiaoya nodded repeatedly. ”Is there any need to be polite with the Boss? We are both his people.”

Only then did Liu Jing start picking something out, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Only Han Jingyang felt that these words... were there hidden meanings in them?

Fine, these two women are indeed my people.

Hmm, nothing wrong with that.

A few minutes later, Liu Jing picked out a small Shi Gandang.

When she said small, that was compared to the kind of huge ones commonly placed at front gates.

But as an ornament, this size was quite large.

It was over forty centimeters high and about twenty-something centimeters wide, like a large rugby ball.

This was a piece of seed material; originally, the skin was smooth and round, but the sculptor had deliberately made it into a sharp-angled shape, with a large amount of cutting done on the front, back, left, and right. The overall shape looked very much like a Mount Tai stone.

However, it retained a certain amount of the skin unique to seed material, a deeper date-brown skin, which, when paired with the smooth and delicate jade flesh, had a strong visual impact.

On the front, the five large characters ”Mount Tai Shi Gandang” were carved in a strong and powerful clerical script, and they had been painted over with red lacquer.

This appearance, this texture, this quality—it was truly impeccable.

Liu Jing asked cautiously. ”Boss, would this be too expensive?”

”Expensive? It is a bit expensive, but not as expensive as Shi Xiaoya’s golden Guanyin. The jade quality is slightly lacking; it’s not quite mutton-fat jade, just white jade. Of course, white jade is also very nice. This piece of material is also in the million-level, but the carving is a bit lacking, and there’s less work put into it, so the price won’t go up. At most, it’s around two million.”

”So expensive? Then, then I won’t take it.”

”Take it, you must take it. This thing is likely for guarding the house; it’s perfect for placing in your home.”

Liu Jing was both surprised and happy. ”Can this also undergo Consecration?”

Han Jingyang nodded. ”Why else would I say you are my people? Your eye for things is just good. You each picked one, and both have the potential to become dharma instruments.”

”Hehe, it’s mainly because the Boss is generous and willing to let us pick first.” Shi Xiaoya leaned close to Han Jingyang, holding the golden Bodhisattva, and gently bumped her hip against Han Jingyang’s thigh. ”Boss, are you really not pained by this? According to your estimation, these two pieces are worth at least six million, and after Consecration, they start at ten million, with no upper limit.”

”What’s there to be pained about? The good stuff is still yet to come. Liu Qing spent so much money setting up the Feng Shui layout; even if Tian Chunming tries to scam him, he must have brought out some good things.”

”You mean, this is just an appetizer?”

”Pretty much. I took a rough look when we were dismantling it earlier; the ones you two picked are considered upper-middle grade.”

”That’s also very good. Upper-middle grade—there shouldn’t be many pieces better than these two, right?”

”Mhm.”

Han Jingyang didn’t play any tricks with these two young women; he said whatever was on his mind.

They were both his people, so there was no need to hide things. After all, he hadn’t even kept more secret matters from them.

As long as he guarded his biggest secret, that was enough.

As for the rest, it didn’t matter.

With strong strength to support him, everything else was just an accessory.

Han Jingyang picked and chose and selected six more pieces.

Among them, four pieces couldn’t be appraised, but the material and workmanship were good. They could be sold for money, and not cheaply either. Adding the four together, selling them for two or three million wouldn’t be a problem.

Only two pieces could be appraised.

Counting Shi Xiaoya’s and Liu Jing’s, that made four pieces.

This probability was also okay.

Han Jingyang carried the four dharma instruments back to his bedroom, closed the door, and performed Consecration on all of them in one go.

”Name: Pure Gold Guanyin Standing Statue.”

”Grade: Level 6.”

”Attribute: Stainless +5.”

”Skill: Stainless Body.”

After looking at these attributes, Han Jingyang suddenly felt a bit reluctant.

This skill and attribute were just too excellent.

Especially the ”Stainless Body” skill; it was too good for the body. It was similar to cleansing the marrow and cutting the bones, able to significantly improve the body’s health condition and the legendary bone structure. In reality, it washed away the toxins, impurities, injuries, and illnesses accumulated inside the body, allowing the body to return to its healthiest state.

Such an opportunity was extremely precious for those who practiced martial arts and cultivation.

Even Han Jingyang was tempted.
