The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

234: Chapter 234 Guangxu Period Xiuyan Jade Carved Manjushri Bodhisattva PendantJiguang Zhai.

Monk Kongyun took a greedy breath. ”Mr. Han, Jiguang Zhai is a true geomantic treasure land, far better than Thousand Buddha Mountain. The moment I stepped through the door, I could feel that overwhelming spiritual energy.”

Han Jingyang raised an eyebrow. ”Spiritual energy? What spiritual energy?”

”It’s that very special Qi, hmm, just Qi, I suppose. It’s not very pure, but it’s extremely comfortable. Once I came in, I didn’t want to leave,” Kongyun laughed. ”Just now, I actually developed a greedy heart, wanting to occupy this place.”

”Great monk, your cultivation is not quite there yet.”

”Hmm, still a long way to go,” Monk Kongyun pressed his palms together. ”Mr. Han, where is the dharma instrument for assisting cultivation that you mentioned?”

Han Jingyang took a Xiu jade Manjushri Bodhisattva pendant from the counter and placed it in front of Monk Kongyun. ”This is it. It can enhance concentration and wisdom.”

”Really?”

”Put it on and try.”

Han Jingyang, of course, would not lie.

This small Xiu jade Bodhisattva pendant was not expensive, the material was average, and it had no skills, but it was a rare dual-attribute item, considered a small gem among ordinary items.

”Name: Guangxu Xiu Jade Carved Manjushri Bodhisattva Pendant.”

”Grade: Sixth Grade.”

”Attributes: Concentration +3, Wisdom +2.”

”Skills: None.”

For monks who need to meditate and enter samadhi every day, isn’t this a good thing?

The added attributes are exactly what monks need most during their cultivation.

Monk Kongyun picked up the pendant carefully, first closing it in his palms and closing his eyes to sense it for a moment, then carefully hung it around his neck, sat cross-legged on the spot, and entered samadhi directly.

A moment later, Kongyun opened his eyes excitedly. ”Mr. Han, thank you. This pendant is wonderful. Wearing it, I enter samadhi faster and better. It really has the effect of getting twice the result with half the effort.”

Having said that, he gave Han Jingyang a thumbs up. ”Mr. Han, your craftsmanship is top-notch; I’m truly envious.”

”You also have your own Consecration techniques; no need to envy me.”

”No, it’s completely different. Although we can also perform Consecration, dharma instruments consecrated by ordinary means are very common, and their effects can only be described as better than nothing. To obtain powerful dharma instruments, it requires a very long time of blessing, short as a few months, long as several years or even decades. Some dharma instruments even require generations of monks to bless them, and the effects are not pure enough—they have a little bit of every effect, but no effect is very strong. They are incomparable to the dharma instruments you, Mr. Han, consecrate.”

”Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses; it’s normal. Nothing is perfect.”

”Mr. Han’s words are very true,” Monk Kongyun said, moving his gaze to the counter. ”Do you have any better recommendations?”

Han Jingyang raised an eyebrow.

What does this big monk mean?

Want to buy some better items?

What is this?

Business delivered to my door?

But come to think of it, I really do have a few suitable ones.

Thinking this, he laughed and said, ”Yes, there are definitely better ones, but the price...”

”As long as the quality is good enough, even if it costs me my fortune, it’s worth it.”

”Alright then, big monk, don’t say I’m asking for an exorbitant price later.”

”As long as it’s good stuff, it’s no problem. My master and I still have some family assets.”

Han Jingyang nodded and took out three items in one go.

All were Buddhist-themed.

The first was a Hetian jade carved Guanyin Bodhisattva pendant.

”Big monk, this is also for assisting cultivation. It has the effect of calming the mind. It works as soon as you wear it, and the effect is quite strong. Try it.”

”What’s the price?”

”One million.”

”One million?”

”Yes, it’s quite cheap.”

”Good, deal.”

Han Jingyang looked at Monk Kongyun in surprise. ”You aren’t checking the goods?”

Monk Kongyun shook his head. ”Mr. Han’s reputation is guaranteed. As long as the price is right, I dare to buy it directly without checking the goods.” He pointed to the second item. ”What effect does this have?”

The second item was also a pendant, but it was a maitreya buddha one.

Han Jingyang said seriously, ”This one is unusual, and the price is high too.”

Monk Kongyun was even more interested. ”Tell me specifically.”

”It is also for assisting cultivation. It can strengthen the wearer’s Buddha nature, and the strengthening amplitude is not low.”

”Strengthen Buddha nature?”

”Yes, Buddha nature. I know very little about Buddhist cultivation knowledge, and I don’t know exactly what this Buddha nature is, but I feel it should be quite important, right?”

Monk Kongyun nodded with a solemn expression. ”Very important. Mr. Han, name your price.”

”Five million.”

”So expensive?”

”It’s not expensive at all. This is a permanently effective item that can be passed down as a temple treasure for generations. What is a mere five million?”

Han Jingyang paused here and added, ”And the next one is even more expensive. If you can’t even accept five million, you don’t need to look at the next one.”

Monk Kongyun’s expression was quite conflicted. He hesitated for more than twenty seconds before nodding heavily. ”Alright, I’ll take this one too.”

”Congratulations, big monk, you made the right choice. Let me tell you, such good things for assisting cultivation are rare. I only have a few, if you don’t take it, others will buy it.”

”No, no, no, I want it. As long as it assists cultivation, I want it. However, can these items be worn at the same time?”

”Yes, dharma instruments with different effects can be stacked. As for whether they will interfere with each other, sense it when you practice and adjust it yourself. Even if there is a conflict, it won’t be a big problem. Feel free to wear them.”

”Good,” Monk Kongyun nodded, his gaze shifting to the last item. ”What is this for?”

”This is a real good thing.”

”How so?”

”Not only can it assist in cultivation, but it also has certain combat effectiveness.”

”Can be used in combat?”

”Yes.”

”Name: Republic of China Sandalwood Bracelet.”

”Grade: Sixth Grade.”

”Attributes: Calm Mind +4.”

”Skills: Celestial Maiden Scattering Flowers.”

This bracelet was not the one Han Jingyang used.

The one Han Jingyang used had the attribute of Focus, while this one was Calm Mind.

Only the skill was the same, both were Celestial Maiden Scattering Flowers.

Han Jingyang briefly explained the attributes and skills of this bracelet, including how to use it.

For ordinary people, activating the skill relies on luck, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

But for practitioners like Monk Kongyun, it’s nothing. As long as they know the skill effect, they can easily activate it with just a thought.

Monk Kongyun was not careless this time, he didn’t even ask the price first, but carefully put the bracelet on his wrist, closed his eyes and gently turned the beads, even reciting a passage from the Diamond Sutra.

Han Jingyang squinted his eyes and stared at Monk Kongyun who was concentrating on chanting, feeling quite shocked inside.

Although he knew early on that these big monks had real skills, seeing with his own eyes the ripples in the Qi field and fluctuations in Qi caused by Monk Kongyun chanting, he was still somewhat dumbfounded.

Buddhism has been able to stand for so many years; it really has its unique aspects.

Amazing!

It’s just that the power is slightly weaker. These slight ripples and fluctuations can hardly be used in actual combat, only for cultivation and blessing.

Well, it could also be because Monk Kongyun’s cultivation is not yet up to par.

More than ten minutes later, Monk Kongyun opened his eyes excitedly and stuffed the bracelet directly into his pocket. ”How much is this? I want it!”
