The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

232: Chapter 232 Let’s FightHan Jingyang was not particularly short of money right now, but he was very short of various items, especially those that could improve his practical combat capabilities.

Although he still had quite a few on hand, he always felt they were not enough.

Furthermore, defensive/protective items and healing/recovery items could never be too many; there was only ever a time when they were not enough.

For these types of items, he wished he could equip every one of his friends and family with ten pieces each.

However, the reality was that even he didn’t have enough for himself.

Liu Jing and Shi Xiaoya only had one small premium item each.

His family members only had one small common item each.

It was far, far away from his vision.

Therefore, opening the treasure left by Huang Jianyong had to be put on the agenda as soon as possible.

Danger? Could it be more dangerous than Tian Chunming? Could it be more dangerous than the Qunying Society?

Besides, this time he would make sufficient preparations.

The sufficient preparations he spoke of naturally meant inviting many experts to assist.

Although Xu Xin had stumbled a few times in a row, it didn’t have much to do with his strength. In terms of strength and experience, Xu Xin was definitely a minor expert. If he were equipped with a few dharma instruments, he would definitely be useful.

Needless to say, Shi Xiaoya and Liu Jing would be there.

Xu Jingyun could also be called to help.

But just having them was still a bit lacking.

Who else could he call? Zhang Zhiyang and Section Chief Tan?

No, he couldn’t involve official personnel.

People like Zhang Zhiyang also knew that Huang Jianyong had hidden good things, and even knew about the page he tore from Huang Jianyong’s notebook, but they had never confronted him. It was clear they were playing dumb and didn’t want to cause trouble with him over this matter.

In this situation, if he asked Zhang Zhiyang or Section Chief Tan to come dig for treasure, it would be a bit like pushing his luck.

How could they continue to play dumb then? It wouldn’t make sense.

Then he could only look for the great monk from Thousand Buddha Mountain.

He didn’t know if Monk Kongyun would be willing to do him this favor.

Hmm, this had to be an in-person invitation. After all, he was a monk, and a monk with status and standing. To ask him to help dig for treasure, he had to give him enough face.

A high monk from Thousand Buddha Mountain going down the mountain to dig for things wasn’t a dignified job. If he didn’t give enough face, he might not agree.

Make an appointment to go up the mountain.

Speaking of which, he hadn’t properly explored Thousand Buddha Mountain yet.

August 5th. The sun was scorching, and the heat was oppressive.

The sultry and hot weather was too much even for Shi Xiaoya and Liu Jing, who possessed the Stainless Body.

Even Thousand Buddha Mountain wasn’t much cooler. Except for the living room of the Buddhist hall. There was air conditioning in the living room.

Monk Kongyun personally brewed tea for Han Jingyang and the other two: ”Mr. Han, you called and said you had something to discuss, but didn’t make it clear. Can you say it now?”

Han Jingyang took a sip of tea, exhaled slowly, and praised: ”Good tea. After this sip, the heat has dissipated quite a bit.”

”If Mr. Han likes it, take some down the mountain.”

”Forget it, a gentleman does not take what others love. Tasting it is enough,” Han Jingyang took another sip: ”Great monk, you know about the few major events that happened in Quancheng recently, right?”

”I know. Now people everywhere are spreading Mr. Han’s prestige, and many fellow practitioners ask me about you every day.”

”Then you know about the matter at Xipo Village, right?”

”The Huang Jianyong matter? I know. What’s wrong? Are there loose ends?”

”Yes.” ”Need my help?” ”Yes.” ”A fight?” ”To be precise, it’s protection.”

”What do you mean?”

Han Jingyang took another sip of tea, placed the cup gently on the coffee table beside him, looked straight at Monk Kongyun and said: ”Huang Jianyong left me a few things that I need to dig up. But there are many people eyeing Huang Jianyong and those items. The scene might be quite chaotic when the time comes. With a high monk of your strength and reputation present, you can keep things under control. You don’t need to make a move unless it’s a critical moment.”

Monk Kongyun’s eyebrows twitched: ”dharma instruments? Just a few?”

”Uh, maybe more?”

”Do you know the obsession people in the metaphysics community have with dharma instruments?”

”I know a little bit.”

”Huang Jianyong created such a huge spectacle, and his strength was quite extraordinary. Although I don’t know why he chose to commit suicide, he was still a proper figure of influence. Rumors in the underworld say that Huang Jianyong left behind a treasure, containing dharma instruments collected over his lifetime, most of which were snatched from victims. Therefore, those eyeing Huang Jianyong are not just the greedy underworld figures, but also the original victims.”

Han Jingyang was silent. Victims? This was something he hadn’t anticipated.

Seeing this, Monk Kongyun pressed: ”If you find the victims’ items in the treasure, will you choose to return them?”

This was a very fatal question. If you found the lost items of victims in the treasure left to you by a murderer, would you return those items to the victims? Would you? Would you?

Han Jingyang thought for a while and shook his head: ”No, those are my spoils of war.”

”But the victims don’t think so. They think those are their own lost items. They think they have the right to take their lost items back. The polite ones might give you some reward, but the impolite ones won’t even say thank you. Therefore, there will inevitably be a big battle between you and them. Yet both sides have their own logic. At that time, tell me, who do I help?”

”Help me.”

Han Jingyang took a deep breath, stared at Monk Kongyun, and said: ”In the metaphysics circle, there’s no law to speak of, only logic. But it’s very clear that my logic is stronger than theirs. If they don’t want to listen to my logic, then there’s no need to talk. We’ll settle it with our hands.”

”Are you sure? If you really do that, you will become the target of public criticism in Quancheng. Those victims may not have strong strength, but they are basically old hands who have been in the Quancheng metaphysics circle for many years. Gathered together, their influence cannot be underestimated.”

”That means they only have a mouth left, no real skills, just able to spout nonsense,” Han Jingyang laughed: ”Dealing with such people is the simplest thing. Just slap their mouths until they don’t dare to spout nonsense anymore.”

”...” Monk Kongyun was speechless for a moment. This sounded really terrible. However, if this was actually done, it would be very satisfying.

Han Jingyang continued: ”Great monk, don’t worry about them. Just tell me whether you’ll help or not.”

Monk Kongyun thought for a few seconds and nodded slightly: ”I can help, but not for free.”

”One Buddhist-specific dharma instrument.” ”Three.” ”No, just one. As long as you agree, I can give it to you now.”

”What function?” ”Assisting in cultivation.” ”Really?” Monk Kongyun was overjoyed: ”What level?” ”Lower-middle, I guess.” ”Deal.”

”The item is at Jiguang Zhai. I’ll send it to you after I go back.” ”I’ll go down the mountain with you.”

Good heavens, he’s impatient. It seems Monk Kongyun has a very high demand for small items that can assist in cultivation.

But that’s normal. For these monks, besides cultivation, it’s just cultivation. Cultivation is the top priority in their lives, and everything else has to take a backseat. dharma instruments that can assist in cultivation are the best dharma instruments; everything else has to take a backseat.

But this is perfect. Han Jingyang doesn’t have many items with skills in his hands, but he has quite a few items that only have attributes without skills, and many of those attributes can assist in cultivation.

So, looking at it this way, Monk Kongyun’s price is quite cheap. Hmm, I’ll invite the great monk to help more often in the future. Anyway, those items aren’t of much use, so it’s perfect for making use of waste.
