The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

239: Chapter 239 Take Him DownShi Xiaoya, hearing Huang Jianshe’s words, couldn’t help but say, ”Don’t wait. You can apply directly to the village. As long as the village chief doesn’t cause trouble, it’ll definitely pass. The country has policies, and the local government has special funds to build houses and provide welfare for people like you.”

Liu Jing also nodded. ”Our village has similar cases. We built new houses a few years ago. Although they aren’t large, they’re all new brick-and-tile houses with water, electricity, and furniture.”

Huang Jianshe hurriedly thanked them, ”Thank you, thank you. I... I’ll try in a couple of days.”

Liu Jing said enthusiastically, ”How about I ask around for you?”

Huang Jianshe waved his hands frantically. ”No, no, no, there’s no need. The village has been in chaos these past few days, and everyone is on edge. The village chief takes the militia on night patrols every day. I’d better not cause more trouble. Let’s wait until this period passes. Anyway, this place isn’t bad; it doesn’t leak wind or rain, and people often drop by, so it’s quite lively.”

Han Jingyang interrupted Liu Jing and asked in a low voice, ”The village chief takes the militia on patrols every night?”

”Yes, yes.”

”How many militiamen are there?”

”There are twenty of them, split into two shifts. They change shifts around midnight.”

”Do your militia have weapons?”

”Not anymore. Just a few clubs. It used to be different; we had the real deal back then. We organized training every quarter with both long and short firearms. When something happened, we’d show up fully armed, and no one dared to cause trouble. It’s not like that now; they can only scare the timid ones.”

”You seem to know a lot.”

”Hehe, I was a reserve militiaman when I was young. I’ve handled the real stuff and even fired a burst. It felt great.”

Han Jingyang nodded slightly. ”Who has been here these past few days?”

Huang Jianshe’s interest grew. ”Oh, plenty of people. All sorts. The village chief comes once every night, and those men and women from outside often come over too. They look around here and there without getting bored. But some of those women are really beautiful, especially the two from the south. That figure, hey!”

Han Jingyang smiled. ”Do you know about the treasure?”

”I do. The whole village knows. They say those outsiders are all here for Huang Jianyong’s treasure.”

”I’m asking if you know.”

”Me?”

”Yes. You’re from the same village as Huang Jianyong and have lived in this temple for so long. It’s impossible for you to know nothing at all.”

”If I knew where any treasure was, I would have made a move long ago. How could there still be no news until now?”

”Is that so?”

”Yeah, yeah. I really don’t know. Besides, do you think a person like Huang Jianyong would let me know about such a secret?”

Han Jingyang stared at Huang Jianshe for several seconds. ”Old Huang, I’m not a bad person, but I’m not exactly a good one either. I only care about money, so you’d better not lie to me. If I find out you’re connected to Huang Jianyong’s treasure, don’t blame me for being ruthless.”

Huang Jianshe’s expression froze instantly. After a long while, he stammered, ”I... I really don’t know anything about a treasure. I... I swear to heaven, if I’m lying to you, may lightning strike me down.”

Han Jingyang chuckled. ”Then you’d better hope God didn’t hear your oath.”

”What... what do you mean?”

”What do I mean?” Han Jingyang smiled, suddenly took a step back, and barked, ”Take him down.”

Liu Jing and Shi Xiaoya were both stunned, but their hands were not slow at all.

Especially Shi Xiaoya, who kicked toward Huang Jianshe’s shin and chopped her palm toward his neck.

Meanwhile, Liu Jing unhesitatingly drew her War Blade and swung it toward Huang Jianshe’s neck.

Huang Jianshe let out a scream, clutching the shin Shi Xiaoya had kicked. His cries were as miserable as could be.

The shin bone is fragile and sensitive. Being kicked by a trained martial artist like Shi Xiaoya, one could imagine the sensation.

To the point where Huang Jianshe completely ignored Shi Xiaoya’s palm and Liu Jing’s War Blade, rolling on the ground while clutching his shin.

Liu Jing’s War Blade was held against Huang Jianshe’s neck. She couldn’t strike or withdraw it, so she could only move back and forth following the rolling Huang Jianshe.

Shi Xiaoya turned her head to look at Han Jingyang, her expression asking if he was sure he hadn’t made a mistake.

Han Jingyang frowned as he stared at the wailing Huang Jianshe on the ground. He didn’t say a word until Huang Jianshe recovered slightly. ”Old Huang, it seems I really did misunderstand you.”

Huang Jianshe endured the pain and forced a smile. ”It’s good that it’s a misunderstanding. I... I thought you were going to kill me.”

”What good would killing you do? No benefit and a life on my conscience—only a fool would do that.”

”Yes, yes, yes. My worthless life isn’t worth it, not worth it.” Huang Jianshe nodded repeatedly, glancing at Shi Xiaoya with lingering fear, then at Liu Jing’s War Blade before flashing a fawning smile. ”Three... three heroes, could you... let me stand up?”

Han Jingyang nodded slightly. ”Get up.”

Huang Jianshe hurriedly stood up, but he was still limping. He hunched over and rubbed his shin vigorously, thanking them as he did. ”Thank you, thank you. Thank you for sparing my life.”

Han Jingyang said to Shi Xiaoya, ”Give him your phone number.”

Shi Xiaoya pulled out a business card and tucked it directly into Huang Jianshe’s pocket.

Han Jingyang continued, ”If there’s any news about Huang Jianyong’s treasure, let me know immediately.”

Huang Jianshe nodded repeatedly. ”Okay, okay.”

Han Jingyang glanced at Chaotian Temple and said to Shi Xiaoya and Liu Jing, ”Let’s go home.”

After the three of them left, Huang Jianshe immediately clutched his leg and started wailing again. He hopped around while rummaging through boxes and cabinets for Safflower Oil. He frantically found the medicine and applied it, groaning and cursing the three of them under his breath. The insults were quite nasty.

Behind the wall, a pair of young women pressed against the surface, listening intently.

Not far away, an old man and a youth strolled around wearing headphones, but what played in them were Huang Jianshe’s groans and curses.

Further away, many people were slowly converging toward this area, seemingly strolling to see the scenery, but in reality, each had their own ulterior motives and was wary of the others.

In the village chief’s house, the chief frowned at the surveillance footage on his computer screen and slammed the table several times in anger. ”Damn it! A bunch of bastards! Why didn’t they burn all these dogs to death decades ago? They can’t just live their lives; they have to come out and stir up trouble. Damn, if we hadn’t lost our weapons, I would’ve taken the men and mowed these sons of bitches down long ago.”

The Militia Captain in camouflage next to him sighed. ”Old Huang, this is very tricky. Including Han Jingyang’s group, there are already over thirty outsiders in our village, and none of them are easy to deal with. It’s like the wind before a storm; if we don’t handle this well, something big will happen.”

”I know, but how do we handle it? Drive them away? Or lock them up?”

”How about we call the police? Explain the situation and let the higher-ups handle it. The people who came last time were specifically in charge of people like this.”

”Would it work?”

”It should...”

”But calling the police for no reason doesn’t make sense.”

The Militia Captain thought for a moment and suddenly gritted his teeth. ”Something’s bound to happen anyway. We might as well trigger this hidden danger in advance and control the fallout within a certain range.”
