The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

130: Chapter 130 Full of FlawsHan Jingyang smiled, ”No, no, no, it’s her behavior that is too abnormal.”

”Abnormal? Isn’t it quite normal?”

”Under normal circumstances, her words and actions would be normal, but is the current situation normal?”

Is it normal? It’s not normal at all, okay?

Looking at the scene of someone engaging in feudal superstition—Han Jingyang holding a compass, and Xu Xin sitting up—any normal nurse would react accordingly.

For the former, they would definitely scold him; these doctors and nurses hate people engaging in feudal superstition in the hospital the most.

For the latter, they would either call the attending physician immediately or perform a medical check-up right away.

In any case, no normal nurse could change an IV drip with such a blank expression.

Nurses are people, not robots with pre-set programs, right?

After Han Jingyang said this, everyone suddenly realized.

They had all fallen into the trap of conventional thinking.

As a result, they had almost let the murderer succeed right under their noses.

If Xu Xin had been killed by a murderer disguised as a nurse right in front of them, everyone present would have been too ashamed to face anyone.

Of course, Han Jingyang had actually noticed the abnormality first.

After that nurse entered the room, both the statue of guan gong and the other props showed a certain degree of repulsion, and even the aura inside the ward changed significantly after the fake nurse entered.

When normal people move around in a room, the room’s aura will indeed be disturbed to some extent, but the intensity of the disturbance caused by the owner and that caused by a stranger are completely different.

Nurses working in the VIP ward are supposedly senior staff; although they are not the owners, they are definitely acquaintances, so the aura disturbance they create shouldn’t have been that large.

Therefore, Han Jingyang had been on guard at that moment.

Once suspicion arose, and he pondered the details, naturally, there were flaws everywhere.

After briefly explaining, Han Jingyang glanced at the nurse lying on the ground, ”It seems that national treasure is no small matter.”

Zhang Zhiyang frowned, however, ”According to the intelligence I received, it hasn’t reached the point of needing to kill to silence someone; there must be other hidden circumstances.”

As he spoke, his gaze shifted to Xu Xin.

Xu Xin sighed, ”There are indeed other hidden circumstances, but I can only tell this matter to Brother Han.”

Zhang Zhiyang raised an eyebrow, ”Oh? You don’t trust the authorities?”

Xu Xin did not take the bait.

Wang Zhiwei sneered, ”The internet says the enemy is at Honno-ji; I’m old and don’t understand these memes that young people use. Can Section Chief Zhang explain it?”

Zhang Zhiyang glanced at Wang Zhiwei but didn’t get angry. He nodded at Xu Xin and Han Jingyang, ”Mr. Han, leave your contact information. Let’s talk privately later and exchange information. Believe me, the intelligence the authorities possess is only more, not less.”

Han Jingyang was noncommittal.

He wasn’t sure if he wanted to get involved in this.

It sounded like a lot of trouble.

Having the authorities involved would be even more troublesome.

Of course, if there were benefits, that would be a different story.

With Japanese people involved, he needed to think it over carefully.

In Han Jingyang’s eyes, Japanese people = gift-giving boys.

So, after Zhang Zhiyang left, he nodded at Xu Xin, ”Tell me, how did you turn a duel into this state?”

”That person colluded with the Japanese.”

”How do you know?”

”During the duel, I easily defeated that scumbag with strength exceeding my peak. I had a moment of soft-heartedness and didn’t kill him. As a result, just as I turned around, several Japanese people jumped out. Two samurai and one Onmyoji attacked together; I couldn’t even withstand a single move and was defeated.”

”Then you...”

”A group of tourists happened to arrive at that moment, so they didn’t want to commit murder in public and stopped. I was secretly relieved at the time, but I didn’t expect that I had already fallen victim to a sneak attack.”

”What kind of sneak attack?”

”I don’t know the specific process. I only know that the night I fell asleep, I dreamed of a woman wearing a kimono. The woman was singing some song while pouring alcohol for me, and then I didn’t know anything else. In the dream, I couldn’t even move a finger. I only remember that the woman in the kimono had a red mole on her forehead.”

Poisoned in a dream?

Interesting.

This world is becoming more and more interesting.

Even such tricks exist.

However, no matter how things change, the essence remains the same.

He wasn’t afraid.

Han Jingyang nodded, ”Continue, how did this get tied to a national treasure?”

”That scumbag told me. Perhaps he assumed I would definitely die, so he vented at me like a lunatic. In his shouting, he revealed that intention, saying he wanted to transport that national treasure back to Japan, and also that he would become rich and successful.”

”It’s a bit strange. If their goal is truly the national treasure, why go through the trouble of coming to duel you?”

”That national treasure has something to do with me.”

”Oh?”

Xu Xin took a breath and said with a heavy expression, ”That item was originally kept by my master. After my master died, it was passed to his son. At the time, we didn’t take it seriously, but I didn’t expect that prodigal son to sell it, and for less than one hundred thousand yuan.”

”This is interesting. You claim it’s a national treasure on one hand, but on the other, you let a prodigal son sell it at a low price without valuing it.”

”We actually didn’t take it seriously before,” Xu Xin said with a look of shame, ”And that was my master’s possession. My master had descendants, so we as disciples couldn’t pay too much attention to the master’s inheritance, so...”

Han Jingyang roughly understood, ”What exactly is that national treasure?”

”A bronze tripod.”

”A bronze tripod?” Han Jingyang frowned, ”That stuff is neither rare nor common. There are countless bronze wares lost overseas. Does your master’s bronze tripod have any special features?”

”Yes,” Xu Xin said through gritted teeth, ”This was commissioned by the Taiji Grandmaster Yang Luchan after he achieved mastery of his divine skills. According to sect rumors, whoever can open the switch of this great tripod will be able to obtain all of Grandmaster Yang Luchan’s martial arts experience and insights.”

”???”

Han Jingyang’s first reaction was disbelief.

Is this a TV show?

A divine tripod passing on skills?

And a switch, at that.

And martial arts experience and insights.

Why not say that Yang Luchan’s primordial spirit is hidden inside that tripod, waiting for a chance to possess someone and be reborn?

But on second thought, it wasn’t impossible. Although it couldn’t be as magical as in novels, it was not impossible to preserve a certain amount of consciousness within the great tripod.

Wasn’t the jar that Deng Xingang fished up a typical example?

Although he didn’t know the specific operation, it was theoretically possible.

Thinking of this, Han Jingyang’s heart burned with heat, ”Old Xu, from Yang Luchan to your generation, has anyone ever opened it?”

”No, not one. For hundreds of years, we disciples and descendants have tried every method but failed to crack its secrets, to the point that many people suspected it was just an untrue rumor. Especially in the last hundred years, no one even wasted time on it; otherwise, the tripod wouldn’t have fallen into the hands of my master, a collateral branch of the Yang family.”

Han Jingyang nodded.

That made sense.

Two possibilities: One, the great tripod is just an ordinary bronze tripod, only covered with a layer of mystery by rumors.

Two, the great tripod is indeed a dharma instrument, and it really carries Yang Luchan’s martial arts experience and insights, but his disciples and descendants just can’t find the correct way to open it.

So, which possibility is it?
