The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

114: Chapter 114 Hetian White Jade Carved RuyiThe scene Han Jingyang imagined was indeed beautiful.

Since ancient times, it was usually the big monks who took advantage of others.

Now, having the opportunity to squeeze some profit out of a big monk was incredibly satisfying.

Of course, Han Jingyang had no prejudice against big monks.

Especially in Han Buddhism.

There are scoundrels, but there are also high monks.

Therefore, he always judged the situation, not the person; the matter, not the temple.

The same went for Taoism.

There were countless scoundrels in Taoism, but there were also just as many highly accomplished practitioners.

Confucianism was no exception.

Having preferences was fine.

But when it came down to specific people and matters, one had to look at the facts.

Regardless of how other big monks were, in Han Jingyang’s eyes, Monk Kongyun and Monk Delin were still normal people. Although they weren’t perfect, enlightened high monks of Buddhism, and their actions weren’t beyond reproach, from an ordinary person’s perspective, they were worth interacting with.

It was because of this that Han Jingyang sold that guanyin statue to Monk Kongyun for eight million.

Five or six years later, once the skill cooldown ended, Xingguo Zen Temple would become one of the most influential Zen temples thanks to this item.

This was a life-saving dharma instrument.

No, it wasn’t just for saving lives; it could also be used in combat. Buddhas Light Illuminating All also had scattering and purification functions, which could completely turn the tide of a battle at a critical moment.

But Han Jingyang definitely didn’t lose out.

It was eight million.

Not eight hundred.

Eight million could buy a nice villa in the city center of Quancheng, or a large, beautifully renovated flat of three hundred square meters.

The purchasing power was very strong.

Additionally, this was also a fragrant bait.

Only after casting the bait could one catch a big fish.

In the country alone, there were so many schools of Han Buddhism, distributed across famous mountains, rivers, cities, and villages all over the country; each one was a potential client.

With Xingguo Zen Temple as an example, why worry about not attracting other big monks?

Moreover, metaphysical practitioners weren’t just monks; there were Taoists and folk metaphysics enthusiasts and practitioners as well.

One could say the market was huge.

Aiming at such a large market, even giving one away for free to Monk Kongyun wouldn’t be a loss.

Doing business certainly involved give and take; as long as the final return was higher than the cost, the deal was worth making.

After the excitement passed.

Han Jingyang returned to the back room of Jiguang Zhai and began to appraise the dharma instruments sent by Monk Kongyun.

They were indeed dharma instruments.

But they were far from being high-quality goods.

Let’s put it this way: they were almost all crafts, mostly machine-made or semi-handmade. Only a few jade plaques were purely hand-carved, and the materials and carving techniques were decent.

Heh.

This monk was indeed cunning.

However, the advantage was in the quantity, and they were all genuine, consecrated dharma instruments that could all be appraised.

Hmph, I won’t hold it against him this time.

Next time, I will definitely make those old and young monks bleed a bit more.

Han Jingyang appraised them one by one.

Small ornaments like those bronze Buddhas, bronze Bodhisattvas, and bronze Arhats were all grade seven, and their attributes were mostly common goods—peace, Buddha-nature, meditation, focus, visualization, etc.—adding just one or two points, better than nothing.

But there were a few good ones.

”Name: Bronze Lying guanyin statue.”

”Grade: Six.”

”Attribute: Visualization +4.”

”Skill: All Dharmas Are Empty.”

”Name: Bronze Crescent Spade.”

”Grade: Seven.”

”Attribute: Deterrence +2.”

”Skill: Sun and Moon Overhead.”

”Name: Sandalwood Prayer Beads.”

”Grade: Six.”

”Attribute: Focus +5.”

”Skill: Celestial Maiden Scattering Flowers.”

Besides these, there were those with more sophisticated workmanship and materials.

Good materials.

Good workmanship.

The appraised attributes were indeed better.

”Name: Hetian White Jade Carved Ruyi.”

”Grade: Six.”

”Attribute: Luck +5.”

”Skill: Follow My Heart.”

”Name: Hetian White Jade Carved Lotus.”

”Grade: Five.”

”Attribute: Purification +7.”

”Skill: Six Roots of Purity.”

”Name: Qing Dynasty Qianlong Hetian White Jade Carved Tathagata Buddha Pendant.”

”Grade: Six.”

”Attribute: Meditation +5.”

”Skill: Great Sun Light.”

”Name: Republic of China Hetian White Jade Carved Treasure Umbrella Pendant.”

”Grade: Six.”

”Attribute: Protection +5.”

”Skill: Turning Misfortune into Blessing.”

After finishing, Han Jingyang was so excited he was almost numb.

Some of these items had useless attributes, but some were quite practical.

Although they were overall biased towards Buddhism, as long as they were useful, that was fine.

Hmm, the treasure umbrella was the best; it was the protective item I needed most.

And that jade Ruyi was also good, adding luck.

The skill was even more interesting; as the name implied, it should be a skill like getting what one wishes for. I just didn’t know if there were any restrictions on the effect of this skill.

If the skill’s power had no limits, or if the upper limit was very high, the maneuverability would be very strong.

But I imagine it wouldn’t be too outrageous.

dharma instruments also had to follow basic laws.

The other few pieces were not bad either, especially that grade five white jade lotus; the skill was very interesting, Six Roots of Purity. I didn’t know if it was for the enemy or for oneself; it seemed usable for both. It was a pity there was no skill description; if there were, it would be more convenient.

The skill attached to the Tathagata Buddha pendant seemed very fierce.

Great Sun Light, should be more powerful than Buddhas Light Illuminating All, right?

Keep it, keep it.

I can be wealthy for a while.

With all kinds of attributes—offensive, defensive, auxiliary, and auxiliary for cultivation—everything is complete.

Let’s see who dares to provoke me.

Throwing a bunch of skills at them, I’ll even kill a god for you to see.

It’s a pity that it’s really inconvenient to carry so many things on me. If an emergency happens, it’s still hard to avoid being flustered. I can’t carry so many things everywhere I go, right?

Although I could find a little follower.

Forget it, let’s just trouble Liu Jing and Shi Xiaoya.

Whoever follows me will act as the bag carrier.

Specifically carrying these magical treasures.

When encountering things, they can be taken out and used at the first opportunity.

...

At lunch, Han Jingyang ate with the foreman and the renovation workers.

In just a few days, the interior of Jiguang Zhai had changed its appearance.

Looking at this posture, it would be finished in ten days.

Anyway, it was all solid work; there were no jobs like wall paint that needed time to dry. After renovation, the whole place would be covered with wall fabric, so there was no need to paint the walls.

Change the structure.

Paste wall fabric.

Install soft furnishings.

Actually, there wasn’t much hard work.

After lunch, Han Jingyang chatted with the foreman about the next steps, then saw Xu Jingyun push the door in.

Xu Jingyun had changed from the lively and refreshing look of the past few days, appearing as if she hadn’t slept for several days. Her face was extremely ugly, her eyes were full of extreme panic, and after entering the door, she subconsciously turned back to look, as if someone was chasing her.

Han Jingyang saw this appearance.

He understood immediately.

She must have something to ask for.

Unsurprisingly, it was related to Xu Xin.

Xu Xin said a few days ago that he wanted to duel with his enemy, and he was originally frowning, but after taking a +2 agility item from me, he was beaming with confidence.

But looking at Xu Jingyun’s appearance, he must have lost.

Maybe the outcome was quite miserable.

Thinking this, he waved to Xu Jingyun: ”Come inside and talk.”

Xu Jingyun followed Han Jingyang into the back room. Upon entering, she knelt down with a thud: ”Brother Han, please save my father.”

Han Jingyang helped Xu Jingyun up: ”Where is your father, and what is his state now? How long has it been? What is the reason?”
