The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

108: Chapter 108 Abe’s Jade ChimeThe Japanese man stood his ground and slowly drew a tachi from his waist, pointing it at Han Jingyang. ”Shina-jin, move aside, or else, die—”

You’re looking for death!

Han Jingyang’s anger instantly flared up, and he charged forward with his sword.

Seeing this, the Japanese man sneered, ”You dare draw a sword without knowing the way of the sword?”

As he spoke, he also charged toward Han Jingyang. His footwork and sword-holding posture were clearly more professional; his attainments in Kendo were definitely not poor.

Liu Jing was anxious: ”Boss, be careful—”

Han Jingyang acted as if he hadn’t heard, thrusting his sword straight at the Japanese man. He could even see the hideous smile on the man’s face.

Han Jingyang took a deep breath.

I really don’t know the way of the sword.

I haven’t even come into contact with sword techniques, swordsmanship, or any other fighting disciplines.

But... who said I was going to have a sword fight with you?

Han Jingyang gave the Japanese man a wide smile and blurted out four words: ”Lip-Gun and Tongue-Sword—”

At the same time, a dense green aura spilled out from the gold-and-silver inlaid bronze sword, quickly condensing into a giant short sword that looked exactly like the bronze sword in Han Jingyang’s hand.

Then, like a shooting star chasing the moon, the giant short sword shot toward the Japanese man.

It pierced straight through his chest.

The giant short sword vanished.

The Japanese man stopped in a daze. A moment later, he collapsed headfirst and remained motionless.

Liu Jing caught up and shielded Han Jingyang behind her. ”Boss, leave things like this to me from now on.”

Han Jingyang nodded and went forward to nudge the Japanese man’s body. It was limp, and his face was calm, as if he were asleep, but his breathing had stopped.

What was this?

Soul dissipated?

Han Jingyang suppressed his discomfort and pocketed all the items on the Japanese man that could be appraised. Only then did he pull Liu Jing along to continue toward the Maitreya Victory Garden.

By the time the two of them reached the Maitreya Victory Garden out of breath, the churning earthly qi had already begun to settle.

However, Han Jingyang followed the traces of residual disturbance and found an old monk lying on the ground, spitting blood.

The old monk had a shiny bald head and a snowy white beard, looking extremely dignified.

Han Jingyang hurriedly checked the old monk’s breathing.

He was still alive.

But his life was also hanging by a thread.

Liu Jing asked urgently, ”Boss, what should we do? Call 120?”

”It’s useless. Set up an altar.”

”Huh?”

”Hurry, take all the items out of the bag.”

Liu Jing hurriedly pulled out all the large and small props from the bag, totaling more than ten items.

Han Jingyang picked through them but found that none were suitable.

Because the old monk had no external injuries, his consciousness must have suffered a heavy blow.

How do you treat damage at the level of consciousness?

Wait.

Xu Xin had mentioned at Liu Xintong’s villa that his Primordial Spirit’s injuries had been healed.

Buddhas Light Illuminating All.

Han Jingyang grabbed the gold-gilt bronze guanyin statue, placed it in front of the old monk, and directly activated ”Buddhas Light Illuminating All.”

Looking at the guanyin statue radiating bright light.

Han Jingyang felt a pang of intense regret.

This was the only group healing and purification skill he had.

And it was the last trial use.

Once used this time, it would enter a cooldown state.

Damn it.

When the old monk wakes up, I must definitely extort a good amount from him.

The Zen Master of Xingguo is so famous; he must have plenty of good things.

If he really doesn’t have anything good, even some amulets personally consecrated by Monk Kongyun would do. Ten or eight isn’t too few, and thirty or fifty isn’t too many.

Amidst his wandering thoughts, the gold-gilt bronze guanyin statue exhausted its last trace of aura, and the golden light filling the sky slowly faded.

Han Jingyang carefully put away the guanyin statue, placed it back in his backpack, and instructed, ”Don’t bring this with you when we go out in the future.”

”Why?”

”The dharma power is exhausted; it’s temporarily useless.”

”Ah? What a pity, it even saved my life once.”

”It’s not a pity; it was meant for saving lives anyway.”

He said that, but Han Jingyang felt even more pained. Looking at the still-unconscious old monk, his mood gradually became irritable.

If wasting a skill still couldn’t save him, the loss would be too great.

It would have been better not to save him.

I’m sure the people here at Xingguo Zen Temple wouldn’t make things difficult for me.

It’s not like I killed him.

However, for the sake of the old monk’s courage in risking his life against the Japanese at his age, let the waste be a waste.

It’s worth it.

At least it let me know that these monks aren’t all people who only look out for themselves.

Otherwise, I wouldn’t have lifted a finger.

At that moment, the old monk coughed, slowly opened his eyes, and spat out another mouthful of blood. However, his complexion was much better, and his breathing was smoother. He looked up at Han Jingyang and then at Liu Jing, forced himself to sit up, pressed his palms together, and thanked them: ”Thank you, benefactors, for your life-saving grace.”

Han Jingyang nodded slightly. ”Great Monk, what is your relationship with Monk Kongyun?”

”Kongyun is my junior disciple.”

”Are you the Abbot of Xingguo Zen Temple?”

”Indeed, this old monk’s dharma name is Delin.”

”Great Monk, what was the deal with that Japanese man?”

Great Monk Delin sighed. ”This is not the place to talk. Could I trouble you two to send me back to Xingguo Temple?”

Han Jingyang and Liu Jing supported Great Monk Delin as they slowly descended the mountain, recounting the incident where they killed the Japanese man along the way.

Upon seeing the Japanese man’s body, the Great Monk pressed his palms together and then introduced in a low voice, ”This Japanese man is named Abe Tamakane. He was an elder of the Abe Family, proficient in Onmyodo, and very powerful. If not for the two of you, the consequences would have been unimaginable.”

Han Jingyang quickly pressed, ”What consequences?”

”Thousand Buddha Mountain would have been ruined.”

”Ruined?”

”Yes. During the years Thousand Buddha Mountain was being rebuilt, the Japanese provided a lot of help. At that time, everyone from top to bottom thought the Japanese were sincerely apologizing, so no defenses were made. But who would have thought that the Japanese’s desire to destroy us would never die? During the construction process, they secretly used the Dragon Slaying technique, attempting to sever the dragon vein of Thousand Buddha Mountain. If the dragon vein of Thousand Buddha Mountain were destroyed, Quancheng would inevitably be affected, and this is just one location on Thousand Buddha Mountain.”

Han Jingyang raised an eyebrow. ”Such a thing actually happened?”

”Have you heard of it, benefactor?”

”There are many rumors on the internet, but they’re quite far-fetched, so I didn’t take them seriously.”

”There’s no smoke without fire.”

”Then what was this Abe Tamakane’s purpose?”

”The so-called Dragon Slaying technique is nothing more than using large-scale buildings as a base, supplemented by Feng Shui formations and dharma instruments, to achieve the goal of cutting off or interfering with the dragon vein. This requires maintenance, empowerment, and refinement.”

”Then wouldn’t it be enough just to refuse them entry?”

”How could it be that simple?”

”The authorities don’t care?”

”It’s not suitable for the authorities to intervene, nor can they. Countless Japanese enter the country every year, and Thousand Buddha Mountain also receives countless tourists from Japan every year. It’s impossible to guard against.”

Han Jingyang nodded slightly.

That was true.

You can be a thief for a thousand days, but you can’t guard against one for a thousand days.

Besides, the Japanese are inherently skilled at infiltration, and there are plenty of ’spiritual Japanese’ domestically. Add to that the influence of money, and it’s even more convenient for the Japanese to do something than for locals.

With all these factors, it truly was impossible to guard against.

However, Han Jingyang was now only worried about one thing: ”Great Monk, how should we handle this Japanese man’s body?”

”You don’t need to worry about it; someone will handle it.”

”What do you mean?”

”Xingguo Zen Temple has guarded Thousand Buddha Mountain for many years and has killed countless enemies who dared to intrude. We have our own ways of dealing with the aftermath.”

”Won’t the Japanese government apply pressure?”

”Would they dare?”
