The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

102: Chapter 102 The Dog TycoonOnly two million?

As expected of a rich tycoon.

Loaded!

Not just ordinary loaded.

Two million is like nothing to her, it’s practically... enviable.

Han Jingyang grumbled inwardly, but he didn’t tease Tongtong, as he needed to maintain his persona as a metaphysical expert.

If he left her with the impression of being a joker, how could he have the face to charge so much money in the future?

So, he replied directly: ”If I said two million, then it’s two million. The amount isn’t important; settling the score clearly is what matters most. I don’t owe you, and you don’t owe me. It’s better this way.”

This time, Tongtong was silent for a long while before replying: ”Thank you. My name is Liu Xintong. I’m very sorry for keeping things from you for so long. If there’s an opportunity, please allow me to express my apologies.”

Liu Xintong?

Han Jingyang thought for a moment and was certain he hadn’t heard the name before, so he replied: ”You’re welcome. Hurry up with the villa’s renovation. Yours is the only job I have on hand right now. Once it’s finished early, I plan to go out and travel for a while.”

”I’ll push the workers again and strive to finish within a month, is that okay?”

A month really wasn’t slow.

That was a villa, after all.

For a large villa of three to four hundred square meters, doing everything from water and electricity to walls and then soft furnishings—it really couldn’t be finished in a month.

Unless more money was paid to hire more workers to work simultaneously.

Han Jingyang was very satisfied.

If all customers were this cooperative, that would be great.

Declining Liu Xintong’s invitation, he turned his head to look at Liu Jing.

Liu Jing had already turned around as if nothing had happened, clearly having no intention of continuing.

This...

What a pity.

Such a good opportunity.

He was almost able to win this woman over.

Although there wasn’t much talk of love between him and this woman, it could be cultivated slowly.

Wait for next time.

Slowly look for opportunities.

After all, before a relationship is established, one can only rely on the atmosphere. If the mood isn’t right and one forces it, it just looks creepy.

So, after sending Liu Jing home, Han Jingyang also went back to his own house to rest.

The next day.

All was peaceful.

Liu Jing brought the foreman to the shop to discuss the renovation content and style.

The foreman was unexpectedly young, looking not even thirty. He dressed like an IT guy, quiet and shy, and didn’t quite dare to look Liu Jing in the eye when speaking to her. However, he was very professional, quickly grasping Han Jingyang’s requirements and providing a more detailed construction plan and quote.

Han Jingyang was very generous: ”Go ahead with the construction. Follow the drawings for the overall plan, and we can adjust details at any time. Liu Jing and I will be keeping an eye on things. Don’t worry about the money; I’ll cover any increase in costs or workload caused by my side. I only have one requirement: the faster, the better.”

”Alright, I’ll do my best. Fortunately, the amount of work isn’t that large, and there are no residents nearby, so we can work through the night. It can be finished in half a month at most.”

After the foreman left, Liu Jing explained with a smile: ”Don’t underestimate him. He’s a top student from a 985 university. He’s only been back starting his business for a few years and has already made quite a name for himself. He has his own company and has recruited a group of workers with excellent skills. He’s very serious about his work. If it weren’t for my influence, we might not have been able to get him.”

”That impressive?”

”Yes, in our village, he’s a talent among talents.”

”According to what you’re saying, he’d be a talent anywhere. It’s very, very difficult for a kid from the countryside to carve out a niche in the industry at this age.”

”Indeed. But you’re not bad either, Boss. Although you were losing money before, the Jiguang Zhai brand at least didn’t collapse.”

”...”

If you don’t have anything nice to say, say less.

Bringing up the very thing I’d rather not talk about.

Jiguang Zhai almost going bankrupt isn’t exactly something to be proud of, yet she mentions it every day.

She has ulterior motives.

Han Jingyang grumbled a couple of times then put the matter out of his mind, simply instructing Liu Jing to keep a close eye on the construction team.

He believed in the top student Liu Jing mentioned, but he didn’t believe in human nature.

Human nature is something that cannot withstand testing. Faced with antiques worth tens or hundreds of thousands of yuan within easy reach, no one can guarantee they could resist making a move, even if the valuable items in the shop were placed in a safe.

But a safe really isn’t much of a hurdle for these renovation workers; they could just cut it open.

It was much better with Liu Jing watching over things.

The 7th.

The renovation team moved in, first stripping away all the original decorations in the shop. What could be sold was sold, what should be thrown away was tossed, what needed cutting was cut, and what needed smashing was smashed.

After one day, the place had changed its appearance.

Han Jingyang once again communicated the rough layout with the foreman on-site.

They had agreed beforehand that every stage had to be confirmed once before construction proceeded.

On the 8th, the formal renovation workers entered the site. The place changed every half-day. With construction continuing through the night, it would look different again when he arrived the next day.

Adjustments were made as construction progressed.

He gradually became more familiar with these workers.

Upon learning that Han Jingyang was a Feng Shui Master, they became more talkative, chatting about folk legends related to Feng Shui, telling them vividly.

To be honest, although most of these workers lacked education or worldly experience, every single one of them was a master storyteller. They could make an ordinary story sound full of twists and turns.

But if you really asked if they believed in Feng Shui, they would all be vague, most of them holding the attitude of ”if you believe it, it exists; if you don’t, it doesn’t.”

Well, the popularization of materialistic thought and the campaign to wipe out feudal superstitions had been very successful.

Although elements like Feng Shui and Yin-Yang had long been integrated into the daily lives of the people, most people’s attitude was more like a habit or a custom, rather than a genuine belief that such actions would bring them many benefits.

At most, they just sought peace of mind.

The morning of the 12th.

Han Jingyang went to the airport to pick up his whole family: his parents, grandparents, and younger sister.

As soon as they met, Han Jingxin couldn’t wait to show off the small gifts she had bought back from Qiongdao.

Han Bin and Wang Yunzhi, the couple, kept complaining that the cost of living in Qiongdao was too high, they weren’t used to the food and drink, and the traveling was exhausting, saying that going out for a trip was just suffering and they’d never go again, and so on.

Han Zhenshan and Li Lan, Han Jingyang’s grandparents, were quite calm. Han Zhenshan in particular hadn’t even changed out of his beach shorts and floral shirt. With his sunglasses on, he really did look like a cool old man.

But it was clear they were all very happy.

After sending the family home, Han Jingyang took the opportunity to voice his thoughts: ”When should we tear down this courtyard and rebuild it?”

”It’s perfectly fine, why rebuild it?”

”How is it fine? The tiles are almost all gone, the base of the walls is constantly damp, and the layout is bad. Such a large area but the utilization rate is so low. We don’t have to make it incredibly fancy, but it shouldn’t be worse than others, right? It’s not like we don’t have the money.”

”You’ve only been making money for a few days and you’re already acting up?”

”Anyway, it’s enough for you guys to build a big villa.”

Han Zhenshan tapped the table: ”Build it. When Jingyang gets married in the future, he needs to have a decent home.”

The old man had spoken, so the matter was settled.

Despite his age, his words still carried weight; he was still the head of the household.

However, there were many things to do before building the house. They had to find a temporary place to live, get the permits from the village, contact suppliers for sand, gravel, bricks, steel bars, and other building materials, find a construction team, and so on.

When building a house in the village, it was rare to do a full-contract deal.

A full-contract deal would make you look like a sucker.

And the workers used in a full-contract deal were all brought in from outside.

A partial contract or doing it yourself would utilize the idle labor in the village.

Although Han Jingyang’s family didn’t need to suck up to anyone, it was best to respect the ecology of the countryside when living there; otherwise, things could get very troublesome.

Anyone who has lived in a village knows this.

Building a house is different from renovating a shop; it’s not something that can be decided in just a few words.
