The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

120: Chapter 120 Bronze Buddha Seated Statue Pendant”What kind of effect will it have?”

”The ideal scenario is to completely resolve the old man’s predicament and let him wake up.”

”And the worst-case scenario?”

”The worst part is that if that jar is also a powerful dharma instrument and has become deeply bound to the old man, being stimulated might make the old man’s condition even more dangerous.”

”This...”

”So, the best way is still to bring the old man here.”

Li Jianjun hesitated for a moment: ”I’ll take a dharma instrument back to try.”

”Are you sure? The price isn’t cheap.”

”I’m sure.”

”Come with me to the shop to get the goods.”

Li Jianjun didn’t go himself.

Instead, the secretary who had been guarding the door of the private room went.

Han Jingyang brought out a bronze-cast Tathagata Buddha pendant.

It was one of the dharma instruments from the assembly line that Monk Kongyun had given him.

”Name: Bronze Tathagata Buddha Statue Pendant.”

”Grade: Sixth Grade.”

”Attribute: Evil-Warding +5.”

”Skill: None.”

Sixth Grade.

No skills.

It was quite average.

But the attribute was actually quite good; it was the highly targeted ”Evil-Warding,” and it had the maximum of 5 points for a Sixth Grade item.

Among the many ”trash” items, it counted as a small gem.

Such an item might have a wholesale price of just one or two yuan on online marketplaces, or perhaps even just a few cents.

However, after being consecrated by the great monks of Thousand Buddha Mountain, the price went up, starting at at least ten thousand yuan.

Now, after being appraised by Han Jingyang, the selling price was even higher.

Han Jingyang handed the small bronze Buddha to Li Jianjun: ”You can wear this yourself. If your old man had worn such a trinket, he wouldn’t have fallen victim to those messy things later, or the situation wouldn’t be as bad as it is now. But since your old man encountered it beforehand and has already completely fallen victim, using it to save him now is a bit tricky. To put it bluntly, it’s for treating unmanifested illness.”

”Treating unmanifested illness...”

”Right, buying it is definitely not a loss. If it can’t save the old man, you can use it yourself or let your family use it. However, it’s quite targeted and only applicable to situations like encountering evil spirits. It can’t cure illnesses, save lives, or do anything else, so please don’t use it indiscriminately.”

”How much?”

”Three hundred thousand.”

”So expensive?”

”It’s not expensive at all,” Han Jingyang shook his head: ”Normally, dharma instruments of this level start at five hundred thousand. I’m only giving you a discount because I feel bad about having you make a wasted trip.”

Li Jianjun hesitated: ”The craftsmanship of this small bronze Buddha...”

”Heh, it’s pretty trashy, right? These are dharma instruments mass-produced by Monk Kongyun and Monk Delin from Thousand Buddha Mountain. They gave them to me, and I re-consecrated them, which is why they are worth this price. If not for my Consecration, the market price would be just ten thousand yuan or so, or maybe even just a few thousand. Monk Kongyun makes a living doing this business; without Monk Kongyun’s Consecration, this thing would only be worth a few cents.”

”Is that so?”

”You can verify this with Monk Kongyun or even Monk Delin. Monk Delin is a truly enlightened high monk with quite profound cultivation.”

”Then can Monk Delin save my father?”

”You’d have to ask Monk Delin. However, Monk Delin just had a fight with the Japanese, and he almost passed away on the spot. Although I saved him, he still needs to recuperate, and in all likelihood, he won’t be able to intervene.”

”The Japanese?” Li Jianjun frowned: ”What’s going on?”

”It has to do with the Maitreya Victory Garden on Thousand Buddha Mountain. Given your status, you can easily find out the details just by asking around.”

”Were you at the scene?”

”I arrived later. I ran into the Japanese who were preparing to retreat halfway, and then I rushed to the Maitreya Victory Garden to save Monk Delin.”

Li Jianjun nodded thoughtfully: ”Thank you, Mr. Han. Sorry for the trouble.”

Li Jianjun transferred three hundred thousand to Han Jingyang, immediately flew back to the Capital, and rushed into the sanatorium without even eating.

Upon reaching the entrance, Li Jianjun slowed his pace, controlled his breathing, and entered steadily.

Upon entering, he didn’t say anything and took out a brocade box from his bag.

Under the watchful eyes of everyone, he opened the brocade box and took out the small bronze Buddha inside.

The third brother, Li Jianliang, glanced at it and sneered: ”Just this? I’m afraid this was bought on some online marketplace for a few bucks, right?”

The second sister, Li Jianfen, also frowned: ”Don’t bring back just any old junk. How did Dad collapse? Wasn’t it because he brought back some random things?”

Li Jianjun, however, acted as if he hadn’t heard them. He carefully carried the bronze Buddha to the bedside and placed it on the old man’s chest.

As soon as the bronze Buddha touched the old man’s skin, the previously motionless old man frowned slightly.

Li Jianjun hurriedly removed the bronze Buddha.

The old man’s brow slowly smoothed out.

”What are you doing?”

”What’s going on? What’s going on?”

”Big brother, don’t mess around. Don’t joke with Dad’s life.”

”If anything happens to Dad, I won’t forgive you.”

Li Jianjun glanced at the monitor next to him and said to the young nurse: ”Please ask Professor Zhao to come over.”

”Sir, Professor Zhao is in a consultation and is not at the sanatorium.”

”Director Wang or another doctor on duty will do.”

A few minutes later, Director Wang arrived. He looked at the parameters on the monitor, listened to Li Jianjun’s account, and hesitated: ”You can try again, but be careful.”

Li Jianjun once again carefully placed the bronze Buddha pendant on the old man’s chest.

This time, the old man’s reaction was more intense. You could even see his eyeballs moving rapidly, his body started struggling, his shriveled mouth opened, and he made a ”ho ho” hissing sound.

Everyone was frightened by this intense reaction.

Li Jianjun quickly stepped back.

Director Wang stared fixedly at the data on the monitor: ”Incredible—”

Li Jianfen screamed and asked loudly: ”What exactly is going on? Why is the reaction so intense?”

Li Jianjun ”hmphed”: ”Look at yourselves. Always shouting at every little thing. Isn’t it embarrassing?”

”This concerns Dad’s life and safety, how can you expect me to be calm? Look at what you brought back; you put it on Dad without even checking it. If this were to...”

Li Jianjun ignored his sister and turned to ask Director Wang: ”Director Wang, is this reaction good or bad?”

Director Wang hesitated: ”If it were a young person or a healthy adult, appropriate stimulation would be a good thing, but...”

”Then what is your advice?”

”I do not recommend continuing the stimulation. Furthermore, I have no understanding of metaphysics. If there really is something unclean involved, rash stimulation could very likely cause more serious consequences.”

Li Jianjun thought for a moment and directly made a video call to Han Jingyang: ”Mr. Han, I just tried it. My father’s reaction is getting stronger and stronger. The doctor does not recommend continuing the stimulation...”

Han Jingyang saw the patient still twitching slightly through the video and said calmly: ”Mr. Li, I still stand by my original point. Bring the patient to Quancheng. By the way, where is that jar? Let me take a look at it.”

Li Jianjun moved the camera to the bedside table, where a large jar was placed.

A blue and white jar.

Its shape was bold and magnificent; it was indeed in the style of the Ming Dynasty.

The glaze color was also sufficiently rich and vivid.

The painting craftsmanship was also quite good.

Han Jingyang carefully examined it; no matter how he looked at it, it was just an ordinary painting of a lady.

How could such a proper thing be hiding a Bridal Gown Woman ghost?
