The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

113: Chapter 113 Eight Million FatesHan Jingyang wasn’t the least bit surprised to hear Monk Kongyun’s request.

I used one ’Buddhas Light Illuminating All’ to pull Old Monk Delin back from the gates of hell; the effect was comparable to a legendary dharma treasure.

How could Old Monk Delin not be moved?

He was definitely moved.

This was ’Buddhas Light Illuminating All’ after all.

It would be strange if an accomplished monk didn’t get excited seeing a dharma instrument from his own sect manifest a miracle in my hands!

Forget about the Buddhist ’Buddhas Light Illuminating All’.

Even if I had used a Daoist skill, Old Monk Delin would still have been moved and interested.

Because such ’supernatural powers’ are the path forward that every metaphysical practitioner dreams of but cannot reach.

Although cultivation can grant some special abilities, in the end, one remains a mortal who will eventually return to the earth, as if walking on a road with no end and no hope in sight.

My skills, however, are supernatural powers that they could never cultivate in a lifetime; to people like Old Monk Delin, they represent hope.

And it is a very bright hope.

A bright hope right before their eyes.

How many metaphysical practitioners wouldn’t be moved?

Even I’m damn well moved, wanting to find a reliable path of cultivation from it.

Strength gained through one’s own cultivation is hundreds of times better than strength derived from a cheat.

The reliability isn’t even on the same level.

Using cheats feels great, but the taste of being banned is even more bitter.

If you get ’banned’ in reality, the end will be miserable.

So, I have to get as many benefits as possible before getting banned.

Thinking of this, Han Jingyang smiled at Monk Kongyun. ”Great Monk, dharma instruments aren’t a problem, but they aren’t given away for free.”

Kongyun nodded repeatedly. ”I understand, I understand. We’ve saved up some funds over the years, but Boss Han, please don’t make the price too outrageous.”

”We’ve dealt with each other several times now. Am I the kind of person who opens his mouth like a lion?”

”Hehe, naturally not.”

”Exactly. But not right now; I’m a bit tight on stock at the moment and don’t have many good items. Tell your master to wait a bit longer.”

”What about that guanyin statue?”

”I have it.”

”Would you be willing to part with it?”

”Great Monk, that’s not very honorable of you. I just used that guanyin statue to save your master, and now you’re immediately eyeing it?”

”Isn’t this just fate?” Kongyun pressed his palms together. ”My master feels a karmic connection with that gilt bronze guanyin statue, so he wishes to continue that connection.”

Han Jingyang feigned difficulty. ”It’s not impossible, but this karma isn’t exactly shallow. Can you afford the price?”

Monk Kongyun was overjoyed. ”Boss Han, please name your price.”

”Eight million.”

”Ah?”

”What? Too expensive?”

”No, no,” Monk Kongyun waved his hands urgently. ”It’s not expensive, not expensive at all. On the contrary, I think it’s very cheap. Boss Han, you can’t do business at a loss.”

Han Jingyang found it amusing.

This monk was indeed cunning and well-versed in the art of conversation.

He clearly wanted to ask why I was selling it so cheaply, yet he phrased it as advising me not to take a loss.

However, I won’t tease this guy anymore.

Thinking of this, he smiled. ”When has Han Jingyang ever done a losing business deal? There’s naturally a reason why I’m asking for this price.”

”Please explain, Boss Han.”

”That guanyin statue had been used once before. Saving your master was its second use. Both times were very taxing, so its dharma power is currently exhausted. It won’t be able to manifest a miracle to save a life again in the short term.”

”Then what should be done?”

”It will recover slowly. All the dharma instruments I perform Consecration on have this ability; it’s just that the speed is relatively slow.”

”How slow?”

”At the fastest, it will take five or six years,” Han Jingyang spread his hands. ”Of course, it’s definitely worth it. After all, a person has many five or six-year periods in their life, and being able to use it once in a lifetime is enough to change one’s fate. It can even be passed down as a temple treasure for generations. Great Monk, do you think eight million is worth it?”

Monk Kongyun asked cautiously, ”Can the dharma power really recover slowly?”

”It can.”

”No other conditions?”

”Based on my observations, indeed none,” Han Jingyang leaned back. ”Great Monk, there’s no need for me to lie to you. Since I want to do long-term business, I wouldn’t ruin my reputation for a mere eight million.”

Monk Kongyun took a deep breath. ”Where is the item? Let’s close the deal.”

”In the shop. Go now?”

”Now.”

”Let’s go.”

Half an hour later.

Han Jingyang handed the gilt bronze guanyin statue to Monk Kongyun.

Monk Kongyun pressed his palms together with a solemn expression. Only after a serious bow did he reach out with both hands to take the box.

As he gazed at it for a moment, his expression became increasingly dignified and peaceful.

Monk Kongyun couldn’t help but be solemn.

Seeing this guanyin statue, he would involuntarily think of Guanyin Bodhisattva’s kindness and gentleness, even feeling a faint urge to enter a meditative state on the spot to visualize the sacred image of Guanyin Bodhisattva for cultivation.

However, his cultivation wasn’t focused on Guanyin Bodhisattva but on maitreya buddha; he couldn’t afford to mess around with that.

Because of this, Kongyun quickly took a deep breath, cleared the image of Guanyin Bodhisattva from his consciousness, and closed the box. ”Boss Han, thank you for parting with this.”

Han Jingyang asked with a smile, ”Aren’t you going to check it again?”

Kongyun shook his head hurriedly. ”This guanyin statue is indeed extraordinary, much stronger than the pendant I exchanged with you the other day.”

”Is that so?”

”Yes, I’m very sure.”

”As long as you like it. I’ll notify you when I have more good items in stock.”

Monk Kongyun nodded, hesitated for two seconds, and then asked in a low voice, ”Why don’t you keep such a good dharma instrument for yourself?”

”Because I need money more,” Han Jingyang replied without thinking, then added, ”I have a few more dharma instruments of this quality, and if all goes well, I’ll have more and better ones in the future.”

Although Monk Kongyun had long guessed this kind of answer, he was still choked by it.

He has a few more?

And there will be more and better ones in the future?

This is a top-tier dharma instrument that can save lives.

No, it doesn’t just save lives; it can also assist in cultivation.

Forget ordinary people; even for an ordinary sect, having one such dharma instrument would be considered a blessing from the Buddha.

Yet this seemingly ordinary but incredibly powerful Feng Shui Master actually had so many, and could easily obtain more and better ones.

Comparing oneself to others really is infuriating.

Monk Kongyun took his leave politely, but he rushed back up the mountain with a fire in his heart, determined to study this top-tier dharma instrument with his master. If they could crack its secrets, the day Xingguo Zen Temple became a top-tier temple of the Zen Buddhist Sect would be just around the corner.

...

Han Jingyang watched Monk Kongyun leave and jumped up excitedly, pumping his fist.

This was a good start.

Where there’s a first, there’s a second.

Where there’s a second, there’s a third.

Monk Kongyun and Xingguo Zen Temple were big customers.

Aside from Monk Kongyun, probably even the relevant departments didn’t know exactly how much savings Xingguo Zen Temple had.

In the future, hehe, by showing off one or two decent-looking items every now and then, would I still need to worry about not being able to drain Xingguo Zen Temple’s coffers?

Out of money?

Even if they’re out of money, it’s fine; they still have dharma instruments.

Out of dharma instruments?

Make them!

The great monks are best at making dharma instruments. With a whole set of sutra chanting, blessings, and Consecration, they can mass-produce many items, just like an assembly line.

When the time comes, I’ll take the dharma instruments mass-produced by the monks, appraise them, and then turn around and sell them back to the monks at ten or a hundred times the price.

Hahaha, in a few years, the monks will inevitably become my workers.

Just thinking about it is thrilling.

Hehe.

Han Jingyang was lost in his beautiful daydream, even visualizing the monks of Xingguo Zen Temple chanting sutras over piles of objects every day.
