Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 1129: Chapter 1128: The Three Fellow Apprentices

Wushan!

In the past few days, Wushan had closed its mountain gates, no longer accepting worship from pilgrims, nor providing any fortune-telling or divination services.

Because the Sovereign Witch Sect had found out that the traitor of days gone by would join forces with the Onmyoji from Japan’s Yin-Yang Association and the Azan Master of the East, coming to attack the mountain to seize the foundations of their sect.

They also gathered all the sect followers who were outside back to the mountain.

Zhang Tianjue was one of them and also the strongest among those who had been summoned back.

Zhang Tianjue’s sect was the Sovereign Witch Sect, but he had ventured down the mountain to make his way in the world at a young age, earning a reputation in Dragon Country’s Martial Arts World mainly through his mastery of the Way of Mystical Technique.

He even ranked seventh on the Dragon Rankings solely on account of his proficiency in mystical techniques!

At the moment, Zhang Tianjue, together with his senior fellow disciple, Witch Bai Mei, sat cross-legged inside the great hall of the Sovereign Witch Sect.

In front of them were disciples of the Sovereign Witch Sect dressed in similar witch robes.

Now the Sovereign Witch Sect was in decline, and there weren’t many true disciples left, numbering just over five hundred!

At this moment, all these disciples were seated cross-legged on the cushions in the great hall, chanting spells along with the sect leader, ’Witch Bai Mei.’

This was just like the daily recitation of scriptures by Buddhist monks or the Taoist Clan’s memorization of Taoist scripts.

Today was no different from any other day, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

However, in the hearts of many disciples in the great hall there was unease, as since they had joined the Sovereign Witch Sect, they had never seen their leader as solemn as he had been in these recent days.

The atmosphere of the entire Sovereign Witch Sect had never been as oppressively suffocating as it had been these past few days.

”Is that traitor who fled the Sovereign Witch Sect really that formidable?” This was the common question in the hearts of the many disciples.

”Rumble!”

Just then, a thunderous noise erupted from outside Wushan. It turned out that the outer witchcraft formations of the Sovereign Witch Sect had been shattered.

Suddenly, a roar like from the skies echoed above the entire Sovereign Witch Sect.

”Bai Mei, I, Black Robe, have come to take back what belonged to me all those years ago!!!”

This voice was deafening, resonating again and again, as if it came not from the mortal world but from the heavens above!

When this voice sounded, many disciples in the great hall of the Sovereign Witch Sect became restless.

And Sect Leader Bai Mei and his junior fellow disciple, Zhang Tianjue, swiftly opened their eyes.

Zhang Tianjue’s eyes were full of gravity as he said in a low voice, ”Senior brother, it seems that the traitor has already made a breakthrough to become an Earth Realm martial artist!”

Sect Leader Bai Mei also sighed, ”His talent was always superior to mine, it’s not surprising that he reached the Earth Realm before me.”

”It seems that today, the Sovereign Witch Sect is indeed facing a calamity. Ah, if the Sovereign Witch Sect perishes under my leadership, how could I have the face to meet Master again, or the previous sect leaders?”

He let out a deep sigh, his face showing a trace of despair.

His second junior fellow disciple, ’Black Robe,’ had already broken through to become an Earth Realm martial artist, while he was just a step away.

Although the difference might seem just one step, in reality, their strength was worlds apart.

To fend him off today would be a fool’s dream!

Zhang Tianjue hastened to console him, ”Senior brother, I have a friend who is on his way to Wushan. As long as he arrives, that traitor won’t be able to stir up any trouble.”

”Your friend? Who? Is he a high-ranking expert on the Dragon Rankings? What rank?” Bai Mei pressed.

Zhang Tianjue shook his head, ”He’s not listed on the Dragon Rankings. He’s just over twenty years old. In the Martial Arts World, he is known as ’Master Lin.’”

”Eh, even if a martial artist in his early twenties comes, what can he change?” Bai Mei shook his head. Their sect did not compete with the outside world, and he as the sect leader had never left Wushan.

He might be described as someone who hears nothing of the affairs beyond the mountains, thus he had no knowledge of ’Master Lin,’ a figure who had risen to prominence in recent years.

Zhang Tianjue wanted to explain further, but at that moment, the clamor from outside rang out once more.

”Bai Mei, come out!”

That was the voice of the Witch King ’Black Robe.’

Black Robe was his witchcraft name from his time in the Sovereign Witch Sect; it had been a long while since he had used this name. But now, he was once again calling himself ’Black Robe.’

He planned to use this name, once bestowed by his Master, to end the Sovereign Witch Sect and settle past grievances!

From the voice, it was clear that he was drawing nearer to the Divine Martial Hall.

And indeed, the Witch King Black Robe had already landed on one of the towering pillars of the Divine Martial Hall.

Outside the Sovereign Witch Temple, there was a vast Sovereign Witch Square with eight pillars each reaching over 500 meters high and soaring into the clouds!

The pillars were covered in dense Witch Text, which recorded various witchcrafts of the Sovereign Witch Sect.

At this moment, the Witch King Black Robe was standing there with his hands behind his back, on top of one of the pillars.

He looked down at the Sovereign Witch Temple below and over the entire Wushan.

Seeing the familiar scenes of the past, his eyes also showed a hint of complexity.

Years ago, he had learned witchcraft here from a young age and remembered standing before these eight pillars to comprehend the essence of witchcraft.

But in a blink, everything had changed.

”Master, you were wrong. Among my fellow brothers, I was the most outstanding! You should have bequeathed the position of sect leader to me back then. Only I could lead the Sovereign Witch Sect to glory, to revive the honor of the Witch Dao!”

”Look at the sect leader you chose—a blockhead. He can’t compare with me in any aspect. Look at him, leading the Sovereign Witch Sect into such a decline!”

”Today, he will even cause its destruction. Heh, Master, you were truly blind back then...”

He stood atop the peak, looking down at the entire Sovereign Witch Sect, speaking to himself.

At this moment, Sect Leader Bai Mei had already led all disciples out of the great hall.

Looking up, they saw the Witch King Black Robe standing atop the cloud-kissed pillar.

Loudly, Sect Leader Bai Mei said, ”Black Robe, you traitor, what exactly do you want to do?”
