Chapter 1105: Chapter 1104: Southwest King

About twenty minutes later, Lin Dong arrived in front of Gu Jiangming with a Chinese medicine chest on his back, ready as if he was about to make a house call.

Seeing Lin Dong arrive, he said joyfully, ”Chief Lin, you’re here.”

Lin Dong nodded and asked Gu Jiangming, ”Uncle Gu, what’s the matter? You mentioned saving someone on the phone earlier, who are we saving?”

Gu Jiangming quickly replied, ”We’ll be saving an old hero, a Southwesterner who has come to Demon City for medical treatment.”

”The finest doctors from all of Demon City have been called upon, including both Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners, and I am one of those invited.”

”I worry my own medical skills are insufficient, so I asked you, Chief Lin, to join me.”

”I see,” Lin Dong nodded, followed Gu Jiangming into the car, and they drove off toward the patient’s location.

In the car on the way there, Gu Jiangming also shared with Lin Dong some details about the patient’s identity.

It turns out that he was the father of Wang Kun, the Southwest King from the Southwest War Zone, named Hero Wang.

Hero Wang had been to war in his younger days and had once been shot in the head, leaving some shrapnel lodged inside.

The location of the shrapnel was problematic, so it had never been removed. With old age, the shrapnel had put pressure on his brain nerves and blood vessels, causing him immense pain.

And this time, it’s even more troubling; there’s a risk to his life.

Thus, the Southwest King brought him to Demon City, known for its leading medical technology, for treatment. They consulted not only top Western medicine experts but also renowned Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners like Gu Jiangming.

They hoped that by combining the strengths of all, they could save his father!

After hearing this, Lin Dong also nodded. He had great respect for the old heroes, and if he could help treat him, he certainly would.

Soon, the car arrived at a sanatorium.

At the door were guards, soldiers from a war department; by their uniforms and the emblems on their sleeves, Lin Dong could tell they were not from Demon City War Department but rather the Southwest War Department.

Gu Jiangming took out his ID card, the soldiers inspected it, nodded, and let the two pass.

After entering, the two walked further inside.

They had only walked a dozen steps when they were stopped again for inspection.

This time, the inspectors were a group of female soldiers. Lin Dong noticed that although they were not martial artists, they still had a faint killing intent about them.

From the aura they exuded, Lin Dong realized they were not weaker than the ’Piranha Special Operations Team’ he was currently training.

The team leader asked loudly, ”Which doctor are you two?”

Gu Jiangming quickly replied, ”I am Gu Jiangming.”

”Oh, hello Dr. Gu. Please, come in,” they allowed Gu Jiangming to pass upon hearing his name.

However, they stopped Lin Dong. ”And you?”

Gu Jiangming was about to introduce Lin Dong, but Lin Dong gestured with his hand, ”I’m Dr. Gu’s assistant.”

The female team leader nodded, checked Lin Dong thoroughly to see if he was carrying any weapons.

After the inspection, she nodded at him saying, ”Sorry for the inconvenience; we have to ensure safety.”

Lin Dong waved his hand, not minding it.

Once they passed the second checkpoint, they arrived outside a special care ward of the sanatorium.

Outside the special care ward, there were dozens of doctors gathered. Among them were Western and Traditional Chinese medical experts, all well-known.

And Lin Dong saw that there were even a few foreigners among them.

One of them, Lin Dong found familiar. It was actually Doctor Thomas, the neurosurgery expert he had encountered at Jianghai Renmin’s Hospital!

Back then, he was brought in by the hospital’s Director as a ”Flying Blade” doctor, but he hadn’t been able to save the patient—instead, Lin Dong did the saving.

Doctor Thomas was greatly shocked by Lin Dong’s Traditional Chinese Medicine skills, even expressing a wish to become his student, which Lin Dong did not accept.

He had stubbornly stayed at the hospital for over a month, attempting to learn Lin Dong’s Traditional Chinese Medicine arts, but then Lin Dong left the hospital, and he returned to his own country.

Lin Dong didn’t expect the medical field was so small that he would encounter him here again.

However, at this moment, he was not the one in charge. He followed a tall, fair-skinned, female doctor who seemed to be in her early thirties—and her status in the medical field appeared higher than his.

At present, it was this group of foreign doctors who were leading the discussion, speaking to a burly man with an imposing presence.

After Gu Jiangming and Lin Dong arrived, they could only stand at the end of the crowd.

Gu Jiangming whispered to Lin Dong:

”That female doctor is Doctor Alice. She’s one of the world’s top neurosurgeons and a director of the Western Medicine Association. The man beside her is Doctor Thomas, also a top neurosurgeon in the world...”

Gu Jiangming, holding a significant position in the medical field and having attended numerous international medical conferences, had met Doctor Alice and Doctor Thomas before, hence his familiarity with them.

Doctor Thomas and Doctor Alice were engaged in a conversation and did not notice Lin Dong’s presence. Otherwise, Doctor Thomas might have recognized him.

Lin Dong nodded at Gu Jiangming, his gaze shifting towards the individual they were speaking with.

Lin Dong sensed a strong presence emanating from him, just a single step away from an Earth Realm martial artist and very close to breaking through to one.

The man’s strength was even greater than the Azure Dragon Messenger’s!

At that moment, Lin Dong guessed his identity.

It was none other than the Southwest King, Wang Kun, of the Southwest War Zone!

The Southwest War Zone, along with Dragon Country War Zone Headquarters, the Capital City’s War Zone, Western Region War Zone, Demon City War Zone, and Sea Area War Zone, are known as The Six Major War Zones.

The Southwest King had an esteemed strength, and it was said that he had the opportunity to break through to Earth Realm martial artist status within five years, becoming the fifth War God!

Currently, the Southwest King Wang Kun was accompanied by a young woman in a military uniform, exuding a formidable presence.

This young woman appeared to be in her twenties, tall and slender, and although her skin was not as fair as Doctor Alice’s, her beauty surpassed hers by several degrees.

She was close to reaching the level of Ye Linglong! Such a heroic beauty would certainly be a star in military circles.

At the moment, she was translating Doctor Alice’s words for Southwest King Wang Kun.

”Dad, Doctor Alice says that to cure grandpa, he needs to undergo a craniotomy. But because of grandpa’s advanced age, coupled with high blood pressure, even if they operate, their chances of success are not significant,” she relayed.

So it turns out that this heroic beauty was the daughter of the Southwest King.

Hearing this, Southwest King Wang Kun furrowed his brow, asking, ”What are the chances she’s given?”

The heroic beauty inquired of Doctor Alice, then reported with a distressed expression:

”She says only one in a thousand!”
