Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 1118: Chapter 1117: Granny Wang

From Tian’s Manor to Wushan, there aren’t any airplanes; one can only drive there.

Wushan is situated in Wu County, and to get to Wushan, passing through Wu County is a must.

In the SUV, Wang Qiqi said, ”Brother Dong, if we go directly to Wushan, we probably won’t get there until very late at night.”

”And the Sovereign Witch Sect of Wushan closes its doors at night; they don’t accept worshippers then!”

”So, how about we stay in Wu County for one night and set off for Wushan early tomorrow morning?”

Lin Dong nodded; he wasn’t in a rush right now.

After all, there was still plenty of time; he just needed to return to Magic Capital before his showdown with Eastern Medicine God Jin Yuan.

”Brother Dong, actually Wu County is my hometown. Staying there tonight, I have some selfish motives. It’s a good opportunity to visit some of my relatives,” Wang Qiqi said.

”Oh? Your hometown is in Wu County?”

Lin Dong suddenly understood, which further explained why the Southwest King and Wang Qiqi would go to Wushan to worship.

He also understood why Wang Qiqi’s grandma would be a witch.

”When the time comes, I’ll take you to meet my grandma. Hehe, Brother Dong, my grandma is a fortune-telling witch, and she’s very accurate with her predictions.”

”Before, she had predicted that my dad would accomplish a lot in the War department. Others didn’t believe it at the time, but now it has turned out just like she foresaw.”

”Also, she predicted that my second uncle would be a teacher his whole life. And that’s exactly what happened.”

”Lots of people come to my grandma for fortune-telling, and her predictions are almost always spot on; she barely ever gets it wrong!”

”Of course, my grandma doesn’t just tell fortunes for everyone; it all depends on fate...”

Throughout the journey, Wang Qiqi was very lively, constantly talking to Lin Dong.

Talking about her family’s matters.

It was also from her mouth that Lin Dong learned her grandma had once been a disciple of the Sovereign Witch Sect for a time.

Afterwards, she came down from the mountain, met her grandfather, the hero Wang, and the two of them fell in love and eventually got married.

Wang Qiqi’s father, Wang Kun, is the eldest of the clan and the current pillar of the family, the most powerful person in the family.

She also has a second uncle and two aunts.

Her second uncle and one of her aunts are both based in Wu County.

Her second uncle is a teacher and has always stayed by her grandma’s side.

The Southwest King Wang Kun once wanted to take his mother to live in Tian’s Manor, but the old lady didn’t like going to the big city and preferred her own little plot of land.

No matter how much she was invited, she didn’t want to go, so the Southwest King Wang Kun had no choice but to respect her wishes.

However, both the Southwest King and Wang Qiqi would return to Wu County to accompany her whenever they had time.

On the car, Wang Qiqi also made a call to her grandma and second uncle to give them a heads-up.

Informing them that she was bringing someone home today.

Over the phone, her grandma asked happily, ”Qiqi, is it a boyfriend that you’re bringing home?”

Wang Qiqi, with a blushing face, said, ”Grandma, what are you talking about? This is the Divine Doctor who cured grandpa!”

”What, the Divine Doctor who cured your grandpa?” Her grandma already knew about her spouse being cured.

Still, Hero Wang couldn’t return home just yet. He was still at a sanatorium in Magic Capital, needing more time to recuperate before he could fly and such.

That’s why he didn’t go back to the Southwest with Lin Dong and the others.

However, Wang Qiqi had already called her grandma before and shared the good news about Hero Wang being cured.

Now hearing that the lifesaver was coming to their home, her grandma quickly said, ”Then I must properly thank this Divine Doctor.”

”You guys haven’t eaten yet, right? I’ll have your second uncle prepare a good dinner and wait for you to arrive before we eat.”

”Okay then,” Wang Qiqi replied cheerfully as she hung up the phone.

Afterward, she sped up the car quite a bit; obviously, she was eager to head home sooner.

It was around seven o’clock in the evening when Lin Dong finally arrived at the Witch County Wang’s family.

Now, the Wang family of Witch County was also considered a prestigious and influential clan.

At the moment, everyone at the Wang family stood at the door under the leadership of Granny Wang.

If it was just Wang Qiqi coming, obviously there was no need for Granny Wang to personally greet her.

But hearing that the Divine Doctor who treated her partner was back, Granny Wang naturally offered a warm welcome.

After Lin Dong and Wang Qiqi got off the car, he saw standing at the entrance of the Wang Family Compound around a dozen people, led by an old lady with white hair, who appeared to be in her seventies or eighties.

She leaned on a cane, her face beaming with a kind smile.

Upon seeing her, Wang Qiqi also showed a smiling face and introduced Lin Dong:

”Brother Dong, this is my grandma.”

Then, she loudly introduced Lin Dong to her grandma, ”Grandma, this is the Divine Doctor who treated grandpa, his name is Lin Dong! Divine Doctor Lin!”

As her grandma was quite old and a bit hard of hearing, she spoke so loudly.

Granny Wang hurriedly leaned on her cane, wanting to give Lin Dong a grand gift.

Lin Dong wouldn’t let the elderly lady give such a gesture, quickly he stepped forward, supporting Granny Wang, and said:

”Granny Wang, you mustn’t, you mustn’t.”

Granny Wang held Lin Dong’s hand, filled with gratitude, ”My old man went to the Magic Capital this time, and I divined his fortune before he left.”

”I predicted that he would encounter a noble person this time, and surely he has met you, a noble person.”

”I don’t deserve the honorific ’You,’” Lin Dong said quickly, waving his hand modestly.

Behind him, a young man was also curiously sizing up Lin Dong, ”Qiqi sis, this Divine Doctor Lin is so handsome and young. He’d make a really great brother-in-law.”

Wang Qiqi, hearing the young man’s words, gave him a glare.

Then, she said somewhat embarrassedly to Lin Dong:

”This is my cousin, Wang Cheng, he’s in his third year of high school. He’s just a kid, Brother Dong, don’t listen to his nonsense.”

”Eh, Sister Qiqi, I’m not talking nonsense. This is the first time you’ve brought a guy home...”

He didn’t finish his sentence when Wang Qiqi covered his mouth directly, ”Shut up, you rascal, are you asking for a beating? I brought Brother Dong home because he’s Grandpa’s life-saving benefactor.”

At this point, Granny Wang couldn’t help but say to Lin Dong, ”Divine Doctor Lin, are you married?”

”What do you think of my Qiqi?”

Wang Qiqi: ”...”

Her face turned red, thinking even Grandmother wanted to make Lin Dong her grandson-in-law?

Granny Wang actually had a very good feeling towards Lin Dong.

This young man, at such a young age, was able to cure her partner; his medical skills were not simple. Just from talking to him, she could tell he was very humble and polite.

And he was also handsome; having him as her granddaughter’s husband would be wonderful.

Lin Dong felt awkward too; it wasn’t always good to be too handsome. People always wanted him to be their son-in-law or grandson-in-law!

Seeing Lin Dong’s awkwardness, Wang Qiqi quickly came to his rescue, saying loudly:

”Grandma, we haven’t eaten yet, we’re hungry, let’s go in for dinner now.”

”Okay, let’s go in to eat first,” Granny Wang said cheerily, then suddenly, she asked Lin Dong, ”Divine Doctor Lin, may I do a fortune-telling for you later?”

”I’ve discovered that your facial features are unlike any I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Lin Dong was silent for a while, then nodded, ”Okay, later I indeed wish to trouble you, Granny Wang, to do a divination for me!”

Hearing from Wang Qiqi that her divinations were very accurate, Lin Dong was truly curious to have her divine a life and death fortune for him!

To see whether his next trip to the capital will bring life or death.
