Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 640: The Myriad Connection Main Network Tree Dictates the Development Prospects of the World

The news that Millian, as Teaching Assistant Xiaohan’s proxy, had taken full control of the cooperation regarding the Dream State Overlap issue quickly spread.

After all, Ninglan New City was only so big, and such explosive news naturally traveled fast.

“Do you know what you are doing, Millian!”

“Of course, I know what I’m doing.”

Facing the accusation, Millian’s hand subconsciously rested on the Book in the Casket, and then she spoke.

“This is betrayal!”

“Don’t use such an unpleasant word. I can’t bear the label of betrayal. What did I do? I merely found Big Sis Xiaohan and signed a contract that the club asked me to seek cooperation for. Big Sis Xiaohan valued my talent and asked me to help her solve something she considered troublesome. It’s as simple as that.”

“Do you know how much of a cut you gave that person! You also helped her screw over other societies! Do you think our Wan Shi Wu Club is in great shape right now!”

“The other societies aren’t doing so well either, are they? And this is a cost the club can afford. The faster this matter is resolved, the faster we can start making a profit.”

“Don’t think that holding that person’s broken book can protect you...”

“Who doesn’t know how to threaten? But you are not qualified to punish me on behalf of the Wan Shi Wu Club. Guess what would happen if I spread what you just said? This book belongs to Big Sis Xiaohan, and its creator is Mentor Natalie, an Alchemist Master of the academy. A broken book... Heh heh That’s the most uncultured thing you’ve said so far.”

Hearing Mentor Natalie’s name, the other party instinctively trembled.

Although she dared to bet that no one would care about such a small matter even if it spread, if it were escalated... she would die all the same.

No, it might be worse than death, so she didn’t dare to take the gamble.

“Hmph... I will report this matter.”

“Then guess if anyone would be willing to protect me just to curry favor with Big Sis Xiaohan? Do you think you can get rid of me like this? If you can’t, I will get rid of you.”

“You! You’re threatening me!”

“Didn’t you threaten me just now? We’re even.”

Millian said without reservation.

“Alright, it seems someone else is looking for me. I can’t neglect the work Big Sis Xiaohan entrusted to me because of you.”

Millian stood up and used the Book in the Casket to push the person aside.

No matter how much the other person resisted, they had to step away, only mumbling to themselves that they were only moving aside for the book...

While things were progressing smoothly for Millian, I was occupied with organizing some trivial matters.

For example, going to the second Shelter to check things out.

After all, there was an extra-large Dream State creature ”kept” there.

However, when I arrived, the creature had already vanished.

It probably retreated into the Primal Dream State since I wasn’t there to play with it.

So, I easily solved the Dream State Overlap phenomenon inside the root cave to prevent it from spreading if I were absent for a long time afterward.

At the same time, I took the opportunity to check the construction progress here.

It was indeed just starting, as Millian had said.

However, many people seeking refuge had gathered here all at once, and everything was progressing in a regulated direction.

After the ”inspection,” I went to the Calamity Shelter, primarily to visit Big Sis Agnes and her small team, who were still busy there.

Big Sis Agnes and her team had completely finished the design related to the Health Bar and were currently conducting interactive tests on the skill damage values.

To this end, they even created many skill modules, and these skill modules felt like they could create entirely new classes.

“Xiaohan, have you thought about promoting this in the Witch Academy for simulation testing? I feel like it’s very suitable for low-grade students to conduct practical combat tests.”

“Eh? Is that a good idea? Doesn’t the academy have Dream State pods for simulation?”

I was a little confused by Big Sis Agnes’s sudden idea.

“This is easier to control. Do you think this Game Qualification could better replace the Spellbook in the academy?”

Agnes looked at me with a meaningful smile.

“Replace... the Spellbook? Huh?”

“The Spellbook, from the beginning, was a teaching tool. It’s just that the people using it twisted its original purpose. The sole goal of the Witch Academy is to cultivate Transcendent Witches, so only the Magic Power Source is a necessity.”

Agnes began to explain to me.

“However, with the addition of the Spellbook, the Magic Power Source’s function also devolved from a teaching tool to a rigid requirement for Spellbook casting.”

“But the main purpose of the Magic Power Source is for the Witchification process. Possessing 10,000 Magic Power Sources does not mean the Witchification progress is 10,000 times that of one. The multiplier difference between them is not even more than two digits. Therefore, from the academy’s perspective, having more Magic Power Source is not necessarily better for a student, especially those who do not intend to advance to Transcendent Witch.”

If I still hadn’t understood Big Sis Agnes’s words, I would be a silly little girl.

Was this... the Witch Academy also fed up with the current situation and planning a complete reorganization?

“I’ve discussed this topic with many other Witches, and even Academy Head Mei. Xiaohan, do you want to hear our thoughts?”

Agnes tilted her head and asked with a smile.

“Yes!”

I quickly nodded.

It felt like the academy was coordinating with everything I was doing recently... I started the Seed of Great Knowledge project, and it was promoted to the mentor collective.

I started the Seed of Knowledge project, and it was promoted to the level of cooperation with other academies!

Now I was running the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree game in the Expansion Realm.

I originally thought Big Sis Agnes just genuinely enjoyed playing games, but it turns out she had an assignment too!

“Xiaohan, you should know about the current upheaval in the Main World’s external society, right?”

“Mhm, I know.”

I nodded.

Those players seemed to be somewhat related to me as well.

“The Transcendent level has tacitly agreed not to intervene. The Main World needs a period of upheaval to regain its vitality, and simultaneously use this major change to adjust the organizational structure of the Transcendent Academies and fully utilize the Main World’s population resources.”

“Xiaohan, do you think it’s good or bad for the Transcendent Academies to fully enter the public eye?”

“Hmm... it’s probably good.”

“It’s actually hard to judge, but do you know how many age-appropriate students awaken Spirit Vision every year? Do you know how many students the Transcendent Academies enroll every year? Do you know how much classroom resource is being wasted in the Transcendent Academies?”

“No...”

I continued to shake my head.

“This is a very contradictory set of numbers, and at least the Witch Academy has endured this situation for a long time.”

“So the Witch Academy proposed the Academy City Plan and connected it with the outside world’s compulsory education process, instilling a formalized Transcendent education philosophy.”

“Um... Academy City? Is it... similar to the Witch Academy’s current appearance? A city represented by the student body?”

I inquired curiously.

“More or less... Although I don’t know much about this area, one core concept is clear: using satellite campuses to deeply integrate into society, and having affiliated compulsory education schools for the lower grades.”

“Um... I don’t quite understand... is this just to simply expand the academy and recruit more students?”

I asked hesitantly.

“Mhm, roughly. But it’s more about student classification to prevent the waste of teaching resources.”

Agnes explained to me.

“And speaking of solving the waste of teaching resources, that’s what we are doing right now. How much resource can a fruit from the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree waste?”

“But this one small fruit solves the students’ way of accessing Transcendent power and saves the unnecessary consumption of Spellbooks. The most basic Magic Power Source is enough for a student until they graduate or finish their studies.”

“But our Spells are just skills, and they’re cast mindlessly...”

I reminded her.

“Aren’t Spellbooks the same?”

“That is true, it seems...”

“The most important thing is that these game accounts are controllable. For example, if a student applies to leave the school, the account’s Skill Tree module is locked, preventing the proliferation of Transcendent power in the outside society.”

“Furthermore, various classes and sub-classes can be the academy’s major and elective courses, allowing a more intuitive experience of different Transcendent power systems. You must feel it, right? Witches don’t necessarily have to cast Spells. Body Cultivation is also a path, and not only is Body Cultivation declining in the Witch Academy, but many students haven’t even heard of other systems besides Spellbooks.”

“Yes!”

I nodded.

In fact, because of the Spellbook, even those who research Spells are few.

Currently, the only people I’ve met who truly focus on researching Spell Rituals are Yi Rui and her group.

I only know those few, which shows how rare they are.

After Big Sis Agnes explained it this way, I instantly realized how terrifying the things I had unintentionally done were, just like how I unintentionally created the Destiny Gazing Technique, which now served as the guiding Spell for the Main World’s fusion and restoration...

“So, if the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree could be completely promoted, it could even replace the currently ongoing Seed of Knowledge cultivation plan.”

“Eh? Wait! Why are my two plans fighting each other?”

“Only through comparison can the better one be chosen, right? The Myriad Connection Main Network Tree also utilizes the Earth Vein, right? It just uses Earth Energy converted from the Earth Vein. This is very suitable for integration into the Academy Network’s technology. I think the academy is currently more suited to introduce the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree Plan. It’s more convenient than the Knowledge Seed’s concept of interconnecting the Academy Network.”

“But... even if this plan is implemented, it will take many years, won’t it?”

“Yes, so we have plenty of time to perfect the Myriad Connection Main Network Tree’s structure. In the meantime, the Seed of Knowledge Plan will be used as a transition, and the Seed of Knowledge Plan doesn’t necessarily have to be phased out. It can be used for different attempts in future student classifications.”

“Um...”

“Are you a little confused, Xiaohan? Don’t overthink it. These are just some initial ideas. When the day of implementation truly comes, we don’t even know what the final outcome will be.”

Seeing my expression, Agnes prepared to conclude the topic.

“Mhm.”

I just felt that as a Teaching Assistant, was I too deeply involved in the world’s transformation?

I’m not falling too deeply into the Script again, am I... After all, being an existence in the Main World, Destiny would still find me.

For the first time in a long time, I once again focused on my own Destiny.

Looking at the Destiny wrapped around me, I smiled and shook my head, ultimately preparing to Dispel this Destiny.

“Xiaohan, are you preparing to Dispel your Destiny?”

“Big Sis Agnes, you actually noticed?”

My movement paused, and I looked at Big Sis Agnes in surprise.

“Of course. I guessed it from your reaction and expression just now.”

“Is there something wrong? I feel like my thoughts have been somewhat influenced by Destiny recently. For the next while, I plan to immerse myself in the Expansion Realm, preparing to seriously study for a period, and I don’t want to be entangled by the Script and some strange developments.”

I inquired curiously.

Since my reasoning was sound, there shouldn’t be any trouble, right?

“Alright... I don’t know how you viewed Destiny before, Xiaohan, but have you heard of this concept? Destiny is a resource.”

“Resource?”

I paused slightly when I heard this, then realized.

If Destiny was categorized as a resource, then Destiny could exhibit these characteristics: it has intrinsic value, it can be traded, it can be utilized, and it can be consumed...

Did Destiny conform to these characteristics?

“Yes, if it’s a resource, it can be utilized reasonably. The World Consciousness uses the Script technique to cultivate the Child of Destiny. If one can gain insight into the rules of this technique, then a life form can also use similar techniques to alchemize special Destiny items.”

“...”

“Xiaohan, you don’t seem very surprised?”

“Um... I should say that once I realized that Destiny does not represent my fate, I stopped being surprised by it.”

I said plainly.

“Is Big Sis Agnes telling me not to Dispel this Destiny because I should use it as a resource to exchange for benefits?”

“Perhaps you could try inquiring about the Destiny Alchemist in the Witch Academy. Of course, this is just a suggestion from me. Even I have never met the Witch Senior called the Destiny Alchemist. Perhaps... you can ask Academy Head Mei, but don’t press too hard.”

“Destiny Alchemist?! Alchemy can even involve Destiny?”

“Of course. You must have heard of the concept of ’everything can be alchemized,’ right? Unfortunately, my level is not high enough to reach that extent.”

Agnes shook her head.

“I just spoke because of the Destiny on you. Given your influence in the Main World, you probably wouldn’t value this Destiny anyway.”

“Alright...”

Seeing Agnes’s expression, I didn’t press further but quietly recorded the concept of the Destiny Alchemist.

I would find an opportunity to ask Big Sis Mei later.

After saying goodbye to Big Sis Agnes, I returned to Ninglan New City.

Since I had Teleportation Markers in these places, traveling back and forth was very convenient.

And I returned to Ninglan New City, of course, to wait for the results of the evening.

Before that, I planned to research some novel things.

The original plan was to read, but the Book in the Casket had been lent to Millian, so I naturally prepared to work on something new.

Because I found that as the things I needed to do gradually increased, I was starting to feel overwhelmed and stretched thin.

So I was thinking if there was any way to improve my efficiency.

For example... a clone.
